Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 735

In the end, Sheryl pushed open the balcony door and stepped inside.

The moment she entered, her gaze landed on Ariana and Lambert sitting calmly on the balcony chairs. Her heart tightened at first, but when her eyes met Lambert’s, an involuntary warmth flickered in them.

Yet that emotion lasted only a second before she lowered her head.

Sheryl asked softly, "May I ask why Madam summoned me?"

Ariana studied the girl before her—demure, innocent, and seemingly confused. Had she not already uncovered the truth, she might have believed Sheryl was truly blameless.

A faint smirk tugged at Ariana’s lips.

But her eyes turned icy.

She said, "I heard that while I was giving birth to Grace, you were the one constantly attending to Carson?"

Not a trace of panic crossed Sheryl’s face. She nodded gently and replied, "Yes, the housekeeper assigned me to care for the young master." Her tone was measured, her words smooth, laced with just the right amount of puzzlement—as if she couldn’t fathom why Ariana would ask such a thing.

One had to admit, Sheryl was quite the actress.

Ariana’s lips curled slightly. "Is that so?"

Sheryl blinked, her expression tinged with worry. "Yes. Might I ask why the young madam is questioning me? Have I done something wrong?" Her voice wavered with just the right touch of unease. Then, hesitantly, she widened her eyes in timid concern. "If I’ve made any mistakes, please tell me, young madam, young master. I’ll be sure not to repeat them."

Her entire demeanor was the picture of pitiful vulnerability.

Her gaze kept drifting involuntarily toward Lambert.

It seemed he was so unnerved by Ariana's pressure that he was instinctively seeking help.

Lambert: "......"

At first, Lambert hadn’t understood why Ariana had summoned this maid. Though the woman looked familiar, Lambert rarely paid attention to household affairs, so he didn’t recognize her. He had only sat there to see if Ariana would uncover the mastermind behind the scenes.

When Ariana called the maid in, Lambert had even wondered if she’d made a mistake.

Every servant in the Stone Family household had been thoroughly vetted.

There was no way a spy from another influential family could have slipped in.

Right.

Initially, Lambert had assumed Ariana was hinting at some rival family as the mastermind. He had even mentally ruled out a few prominent ones—after all, sowing discord between a mother and son seemed too petty a scheme. If Carson had been older, perhaps such manipulation might have worked, but at his current age, it was practically useless.

Unless someone was truly blind to reality.

But now, Lambert realized he had overcomplicated things.

Narrowing his eyes, he suddenly felt a twinge of exasperation. Seeing the maid’s pleading gaze fixed on him, he instantly grasped the situation.

It was almost laughable.

But it was the only explanation.

Sure enough, Ariana noticed Sheryl’s expression too. She paused, frowned briefly, then composed herself. Just then, the butler entered, handed her a voice recorder, and left without a word. Before stepping out, he cast a long, sorrowful glance at Sheryl, his eyes filled with silent regret.

Having spent years in the Stone Family household, Sheryl had long since figured out the fickle nature of men. That’s why she had deliberately cultivated an aura completely opposite to Ariana’s. No man could resist temptation—especially when faced with someone so different from his own wife.

After so many years of marriage, the young master must surely be tired of his wife by now.

At this moment, Lambert was feeling… complicated. It had been a long time since anyone had so brazenly tried to seduce him.

A glint of amusement flickered in his eyes.

He tilted his head slightly, glancing at his wife with a playful blink, as if to say, 'See how irresistible your husband is? Better hold on tight.'

Ariana: “……”

Sheryl was still on the floor, weeping and pleading her case, completely unaware that Ariana was nothing like the naive, sheltered wives of other wealthy families. Still, the answer was unexpected. Though Ariana hadn’t dug as deep as Lambert, she had suspected this might be Irene’s doing—or perhaps Beverly, who had caused trouble before.

But now it seemed…

Just an admirer?

Ariana’s lips curled slightly, unsure whether to laugh at herself or scoff. Though Sheryl was just a minor, insignificant figure, she had still managed to stir up trouble. The memory of her youngest son running away in tears made Ariana’s chest tighten with frustration and anger.

Still.

The girl hadn’t committed any unforgivable sin, and she was still young. Ariana wasn’t inclined to be too harsh.

So she rose gracefully and said coolly, “Whether this was intentional or not, the Stone family has no place for troublemakers. The butler will settle your wages, including an extra month’s pay. By noon tomorrow, I expect you to be gone. Understood?”
