Read Arabella and Alvise novel Chapter 107
I could clearly see the view outside from the lobby. It was pitch-black, heavy rain thrashing against the ground while flashes of lightning split the sky.
Dread settled in my stomach as I stared at my empty hands. I wasn’t even carrying my bag.
I was stranded.

Ignoring the logical part of my mind that told me to stay in the lobby, I walked out of the building, wincing the moment the freezing rain crashed against my skin.
Faining heavily, madam.” A deep voice came from behind me, prompting me to turn around.
It was a tall, broody-looking man, but I wasn’t alarmed because he was dressed like one of the security guards I always saw with Alvise. I glanced around, finally taking in my surroundings, and relaxed slightly when I spotted the other security men making their rounds around the company.
I turned back to the man and forced a smile. “It’s fine,” I said. “I can manage.”
He looked like he was about to protest, but I gave him a small wave and continued walking into the relentless rain.
I was completely soaked before I reached the road, but thankfully, the thunder had eased considerably, calming my fearjust a little. I had no idea where I was going or how I was going to get home in such heavy rain, especially without my phone or
any money.
I had no plan. I wasn’t even thinking.
All I wanted was to get away from him because the guilt of staying anywhere near him after what I’d said threatened to consume me alive.
I kept walking, ignoring the pounding in my head and the curious stares people gave me from inside their cars as they drove past, looking at me as though I’d lost my mind.
I didn’t care. I didn’t even have it in me to care.
The road was mostly deserted, with only a handful of cars passing by, and what I was doing was every bit as dangerous as it was frightening. But… I kept walking.
A car drove past and slowed before continuing, so I didn’t think much of it, until it stopped completely.
My stomach twisted with dread, and I froze in my tracks, waiting for it to pull away and continue down the road.
It didn’t.
