ARABELLA’S POV

“You heard me,” she yelled, her voice ridiculously high-pitched, grabbing the attention of the people passing by.
I flashed them a fake smile before turning around. “I don’t have time for you this morning, Leah, so take your drama somewhere else.”
She tipped her chin up. “Are you talking to me?”
“Yes, I am.”
Leah stalked toward me. “If you’re tired of this job, I can assure you it’ll be my pleasure to rid you of it.”
I folded my arms and bit my lip to hold back the retort perched on the tip of my tongue. Despite my annoyance and my desire to put her in her place, I wasn’t ready to gamble with my job. If I was going to stand up to her, I had to do it smartly.
“I don’t remember having that conversation with you,” I said dryly.
“You didn’t have to say it out loud.” Leah raised a brow. “You only came to work once in the last week.”
Unease settled deep within me.
