Ruined By My Brother’s Best Friend
Arrogance, Confrontation
ARABELLA’S POV
“That was weird.”
Washing my hands, I turited to look at Sierra. “You think so?”

Her nostrils flared. “Didn’t you hear all she just said? I mean, why would her sister even talk about you? Like you were a opi of conversation between them? Isn’t that creepy? I’m sure you’ve never met any of them.”
I sighed, turning off the tap and dabbing my hands with a paper towel before disposing of it in the trash.
Sierra and I had excused ourselves to use the restroom after that very weird encounter, and she hadn’t stopped talking about how disrespectful Alvise’s fiancée had been.
I hadn’t stopped thinking about it either. Normally, especially in movies, dare I say, one would expect the villain to fake being nice when they were really quite the opposite. I hadn’t expected Tatiana to just straight-up show all her cards at once Were those even all her cards? Or did she just hate me that much?
“I’ve met her sister,” I said absentmindedly. “Once in Alvise’s office and then another time at his Chinese restaurant.” I reapplied my lip gloss. “She was with him both times.”
Sierra gasped. “Why wouldn’t you tell me this?”
“It skipped my mind,” I said. “I’m surprised you don’t even know about it. I thought I already told you.”
“You really should have. Was your interaction with the sister similar to this?”
“Worse,” I said, laughing lightly. “The sister threatened me the first day I met her. It was terrible.”
“Worse
“That confirms it. They’ve spoken about you.” Sierra observed, stroking her chin thoughtfully. “Tatiana probably sees you as
a threat.”
“Threat?” I walked to the door, beckoning her to follow. “Please.” I waved my hand dismissively. “Alvise is all hers. She should know that by now.”
Sierra paused at the door. “I’m just pissed that he rubbed it all in your face like that. It was crazy. He has a whole fiancée but draws the line at you going on a date.” She scoffed. “The double standard is disgusting.”
I opened the door and stepped out, refusing to reply because if I did, I felt like I’d go crazy.
It was finally getting real to me. As clear as day. Alvise had a fiancée, and he was getting married. What had seemed like a rumor was now reality. I mean, I couldn’t have missed the huge diamond ring on her finger.
Walking down the hallway with Sierra by my side, I scrolled through my phone, checking on the ride we’d booked some minutes ago.
“Arabella, watch out.” Sierra warned.
It was too late. I crashed into someone, the impact sending me stumbling back a few steps and knocking the air out of me.
“I’m sorry…” I paused, my eyes clashing with the blue depths I currently couldn’t stand.
Alvise slipped his hand into his pocket, his jaw twitching as he watched me. I held his gaze for a beat too long, my heart thumping with a confusing mixture of anger, hurt, and something I refused to name, before I breathed out and decided I’d had enough.

I tried to sidestep him, but he remained unmoving, blocking half the hallway. “Move out of the way.”
eyes narrowed. “Are you drunk?”
“If/I was, why would you care?”

He nodded. “I wouldn’t.” He stroked his chin. “But that would explain why you think you can tell me what to do.”
Annoyance flared inside me. He just couldn’t leave me alone, could he? Was he also here to flaunt his engagement in my
face or tell me how in love he was?
I was done being the pathetic woman who just couldn’t move on and let him walk all over her.
“Sierra?” I turned to look at her. “You can go back. I’ll join you soon.”
Sierra raised her brows, but after a moment, she walked away, leaving me alone with the devil.
If he wanted to be petty, he just didn’t understand how pretty I could get when I wanted to be. I folded my arms and leaned against the wall. “So, what about you?”
Alvise raised a brow, looking bored. His disinterest in the conversation only fueled my desire to piss him off. “Are you drunk?”
“Obviously not.”
“Ah, I see.” I tilted my head to the side. “So why do you think you can block my path?”
“You ran into me,” he said, lazily glancing at his wristwatch.
“We ran into each other,” I corrected, blowing away the imaginary dust on my nails. “You’re not too uptight to know what that means, right?”
His eyes, intense and stupidly sharp, narrowed. “Enlighten me.”
I faked a smile. “Gladly. So you see, when two people run into each other, they have to apologise.” I patted my chest. “Both of them. And last I checked, I already did. So…” I tapped my chin thoughtfully. “You,” I pointed at him, “whatever your name is, need to do the same.”
“I see.” Alvise took a step forward. “And what if I tell you to shut the fuck up and get out of my way?”
My smile disappeared, and I straightened. I took a step closer. “Then I’ll tell you to shove your attitude up your throat and get out of my way.”
His eyes darkened. I rolled my eyes, faking his usual act of glancing at his wrist to check the time. The only difference was that instead of a wristwatch, I had a gold bracelet on.
“Whatever is wrong with you, I don’t care for it.”
“And here I was thinking you were the most caring man in the world,” I said dryly. “How could I have missed that you didn’t care? You know, given that you’re all sunshine and rainbows.”
The corner of his lips twitched, and with hands that showed his protruding veins, he stroked it thoughtfully. “I can see that you’re back to being insufferable.”
I shrugged. “One of us had to match your attitude.”
Anger flashed in his eyes, and he leaned in, glaring down at me. “I’d advise you not to piss me off.”
I gritted my teeth. “Or what are you going to do?” I fisted my hand in his suit jacket and pulled his face closer. “You’re going
