That, I could understand because he was naturally intimidating and powerful. But why was Christian acting so desperate with Tatiana?
Were they really that important?
“Then fire her,” she said, levelling Christian with a firm look.

Ramed By My Brother’s Best Friend
My ears almost stopped working.
had to be a dream. I was sure of it. Otherwise, I was going to spiral… I was going to lose it.
She’d just walked into my company… a job I’d spent years of my life working hard for, trying to fit in and prove that I was someone who deserved the opportunity, and she had the nerve to ask my boss to fire me?
“What?” Christian said, looking from her to me. “We can resolve this…”
“No. I don’t want it resolved,” she snapped. Her piercing, mocking eyes met mine, and a victorious smile appeared on her lips. “The only resolution I want is for her to leave the company.”
I shot to my feet in a surge of rage, the chair behind me nearly toppling over.
My blood boiled at an alarming speed as I dashed for the door. I ignored Christian’s attempts to call me back and walked out, heading straight for the exit of the company.
I had no idea what the fuck was going on, but Alvise better have answers for me because I was headed to his company.

Slimy Sister
ARABELLA’S POV
“You can’t go in if you don’t have an appointment…”
I walked past Alvise’s secretary, not bothering to listen to her as she tried to stop me.

Stopping in front of his office door, I knocked harder than necessary, making sure to create enough noise that he wouldn’t have a choice but to come and see who it was.
I was right.
The door flew open, revealing Alvise’s irritated face. “Have you lost your mind?”
I walked past him into his office. “No. Just about to lose my job,” I said, turning around to face him.
He glanced at his wristwatch. “I don’t have time for whatever nonsense you’re here for, so leave.”
My nostrils flared. His words only fueled my anger. “Why did your fiancée show up at my company with her sister to file a complaint against me?”
Alvise raised a brow, and there was a long pause. “What?”
I rolled my eyes. “Don’t tell me you’re just hearing about this. Wasn’t this some sort of planned work?”
“Get to the point, Arabella,” he snapped, cold and impatient.
“I have gotten to that already!” I snapped back. “Didn’t you hear me? Your plans have succeeded, haven’t they? You wanted me to lose my job badly. Now your wish is about to be granted.” me
With a calmness I despised in that moment, Alvise walked to his desk and took a seat.
“If you’re going to speak to me, you’re not going to do it in that tone,” he warned, his voice dangerously low. “Fix it and try again.”
I wanted to turn back and ignore him, but I couldn’t. My job was at stake here, so I needed to shove my pride aside.
“You heard what I said. Tatiana is trying to get me fired.”
Alvise stroked his chin. “When did this happen?”
“Right now,” I said, shifting my weight onto one foot. “I left them there.”
He watched me, his eyes carefully searching my face. Alvise poked his inner cheek with his tongue. “Why do you think I’m involved?”
I gave him a blank look. “I don’t know the woman, you do! So how did she find out where I worked?”
He tapped his finger against the desk. “Stop raising your voice.”
I lost it.
“Stop telling me what to do! Didn’t you hear me?” Tears swelled in my eyes. “They’re trying to get me fired, if they haven’t already done it. And why?” I snapped bitterly, unable to stop the tears as they flowed down my cheeks. “I don’t even know these people. Why would they take a jab at my work?”.
“Calm down, Arabella…”
