Rage

ARABELLA’S POV

My heart hammered hard in my chest, matching the sting that exploded through my ear and all the way up to my head,

“What is going on here?”

I managed to look up and see Alvise’s security team walking towards us with huge scowls on their faces, but it was too late to defuse the situation.

All I saw was red.

I lurched forward and yanked Viktoriya by the hair, pulling her down until she was kneeling in front of fne. With a strength had no idea I possessed, I slapped her hard across the face until her head veered to the side, just like mine had moments

ago.

“Madam!” One of the security guards grabbed my hands and pulled me away from the scene, but my eyes remained fixed on them.

“You’re crazy!” Viktoriya cried, clutching her cheek and sobbing continuously.

I scoffed. “Lay your hands on me again, and I’ll show you just how crazy I can be!”

“You need to calm down, madam,” the man holding me said, guiding me towards a chair.

Our little fistfight had already gotten a lot of attention, with some onlookers taking pictures while others stood around to watch the scene unfold.

The anger slowly drained from my body, and I was now forced to face the consequences of my actions. I bent my head. covering my face with my palm to avoid getting any more photos taken.

I might still not have a job, but if I did, pictures of me in a fistfight would definitely make me lose it.

“Are you okay?”

I groaned into my palm and glanced up. The security guard was looking at me curiously, his eyes roaming over each side of my face like he was searching for something.

“What’s your deal?” I joked, forcing out a light laugh. “Is there something out my face?”

He swallowed, his hands almost shaking as he pulled out his phone and typed on it. “I’m trying to make sure there isn’t.”

“And if there is?” I snorted. “The deed is already done. That’s the least of my worries now.”

“But it’s the top of mine,” he said absentmindedly, a small frown settling on bis face as he continued typing.

I was suddenly interested in the conversation. I furrowed my brows. “Why?”

“Because boss will kill me if he finds out we let you get hurt…” He paused and glanced up, as if he wasn’t supposed to say that. “Nothing.”

“Wait!” I raised a hand. “You were going to say something. Say it.”

He shook his head. “Stay still, madam. I’ll be right back.”

A knot formed in my stomach. What did he mean by that? Was he talking about Alvise? Of course, he was talking about him, but… was he mistaking me for Tatiana?

My shoulders sagged. He probably was. If anyone was going to get Alvise that riled up, it was his pretty, proper fiancée!

eyes drifted to where they had stood just moments ago, but they were gone. I tried to remember what Tatiana had been dong when I slapped her sister, but I hadn’t paid attention to her.

Though, I could bet she hadn’t done anything, otherwise I would have been able to slap Viktoriya if it had been two against

one.

Did she refuse to help her sister because of what I said about Alvise? I stroked my chin thoughtfully. There was definitely something going on between them.

“The calm after the storm, I presume?”

I stilled, every hair on my body standing on end as goosebumps rose across my skin. The weight of his stare, heavy and impossible to ignore, unnerved me.

I looked up, my eyes clashing with the familiar depths of blue.

With his hands slipped into his pockets, Alvise took a step closer and stared down at me. “What were you thinking?”

I scoffed. “I wasn’t thinking.”

“I can see that,” he said.

I forced a smile and glared at him. “Great observation, sir.”
