I shook my head pitifully. “Why are you so scared of your own sister?” I blurted, genuinely bewildered and curious.
You run your mouth all the time but have no idea that you actually know nothing. NOTHING!” Viktoriya yelled, making mflinch.
I should keep quiet and move on, not push her further because she seemed extremely riled up, but my curiosity was getting the better of me. I suddenly wanted to know what she was trying to say, or what terrified her so much about her own sister.
I shrugged. “She’s your family. I don’t think she’ll hurt you, so just be honest with her and tell her the truth…
Viktoriya reached out and grabbed my shoulders, and without warning, she slammed me against the wall. Just shut up our lives are not black and white like yours, you dumb girl! Where I come from, we kill family for power!”

Ruined By My Brother’s Best Friend
An Offer
ARABELLA’S POV
Viktoriya’s words stuck with me as I pushed the door to Alvise’s apartment open and walked inside.
What did she mean by that? I’d struggled to believe she was being serious at first, until she slammed me against the wall and said it herself.
Who were they?
“Little Bella.”
I glanced up to see Archie watching me from his spot on the couch. “Hi,” I said, taking off my shoes and walking over to t with him.
Archie nodded. “I’m fine. You look stressed.”
I rested my head against the couch. “I feel stressed, but it’s fine. Just a long day at work.”
How was I expected to tell him I was almost depressed because his best friend was taking me off an unfinished project? From trying to forget Alvise’s cruel order today to figuring out what Viktoriya meant, I was completely exhausted.
Archie and I chatted for some more time before I went into my room to take a shower. Once I was done, I changed into my PJ and snuggled under my covers, ready to sleep.
My phone rang, and I pulled it off the nightstand to pick up. “Hello?” I said after seeing that it was an unknown number.
“Hello.”
My fingers froze around the phone. “Tatiana?” I furrowed my brows. “Why are you calling me?”
I groaned, pulling my hair gently and sitting up on the bed. A call from her after just dealing with her sister felt like hell.
Can they just leave me alone?
“How about we start with why you had the audacity to visit my fiancé’s office today?” she clapped back.
“How did you get my contact?” I asked, fisting my sheets with my free hand.
“I have a source.”
I frowned. “I’m sure whatever source you’re referring to is illegal.”
She scoffed, “That’s none of your business. What you should focus on now is why I called you.”
“Then get to the point so you can get off my phone,” I snapped, tired of her nonsense.
There was a long silence before she spoke. “You said something about my sister. I want to know if it’s true.”
Wait… she was calling me to ask about Viktoriya’s relationship with Alvise? I thought she’d already established that she didn’t believe me. So what was this about?
“You said I was lying,” I said cautiously. “So what else do you want to know?”
“I gave it a second thought, and I believe something doesn’t add up. I want to know what it is.”
No. I wasn’t going to fall for this. First of all, I had no reason to play detective for her. I didn’t even like her. And I would be a
