Read Arabella and Alvise novel Chapter 223
Ruined By My Brother’s Best Friend
His Dangerous Father
ARABELLA’S POV
I shivered, her words making a knot form in my stomach.
It wasn’t just what she said, it was how she said it… And I believed her..
Alvise had a father. I know how stupid that sounds, because of course, everyone has a father but I never le myself think that far when I was thinking of all the people I didn’t want to meet if I followed Alvise to Russia.
Tatiana had been at the top of my list… in fact, the only person on my list. But now that thought about it there were probably worse people there.
If Alvise was already so authoritative, dangerous, and demanding… What would his father be like?
Definitely worse.
“Arabella?” Sierra tugged on my arm to get my attention.
I glanced at her and raised my brows. “We need to talk.”
I nodded, pulling her with me as I walked out of the room. The moment we stepped into the living room, she snatched her hand out of mine and placed her hand on her hip.
“When were you going to tell me that he was planning to take you back to Russia with him?” She snapped, her eyes flashing with disappointment.
“I’m sorry.” I breathed, rubbing my temples. “I didn’t tell you because I don’t plan on actually going with
him.”
“Do you think Alvise is the type of man to give you a choice when he has obviously made up his mind?” Sierra ran her hands through her hair. “Girl, he literally sent someone to help you pack. What do you think is going to happen?”
“I’m just not going! I don’t care how serious he is…” I rubbed my chest, panic swirling within me. “It’s just not happening. How am I supposed to live in a foreign country with a man that’s going to get married to my mortal enemy?”
Tears welled in Sierra’s eyes. “You don’t understand. With what I’ve seen of Alvise, you can’t do anything about it…”
“Are you seriously concluding this already?” I said in disbelief. “You heard what that weird lady said. His father wouldn’t accept me!”
She wiped the tears from her eyes. “She was just trying to scare you.”
“And it worked.” I scoffed. “I’m not going to have someone literally give me a clear warning and then take a risk by going there to find out.”
“Alvise is a dangerous man…” Sierra mused. “I don’t know. I can feel there’s something bigger…. I just can’t place my finger on it.”

Tired of hiding the truth from her and feeling guilty, I rasped, “He’s the head of the Bratva, Sierra… Something called the Pakhan…”
“Shut up!” Sierra’s face fell. “Tell me you’re fucking joking!” She stepped in front of me, her eyes so wide I feared they would rip from her face. “How true is this?”
Overwhelmed, I stepped back. “You need to chill.”
“And you need to stop being chill.”
“What are you even saying?”
“You just told me Alvise is the head of the largest criminal organisation in the world and you want me to chill.” She yelled. “Are you fucking crazy?”
“Pipe down, Sierra!” I hissed. “He’ll kill us if he knows I told you this. I was warned not to..
“But you could have still said something. I would have left this apartment the moment I knew it.” she whispered, pacing the room.
I frowned. “Why?”
Her eyes clashed with mine and she halted. “Are you really asking me that?”
I nodded cautiously, unsure of where she was going with this.
“The man doesn’t like me.” Sierra muttered. “I see it in the way he looks at me. And recently, because I got pissed that he’s getting married, I went into his room and cut up his shirts with the kitchen knife.”
I blinked. This was exactly why I didn’t tell her about what Tatiana did. I knew just how protective she was of me and how crazy she could get.
“Well… I don’t think he would know it’s you.” I said, trying to calm her down. “He would probably think it was me.”
Sierra bit her lip, her face dropping to the floor suspiciously.
“What did you do, Sierra?”
“Nothing.” She scratched the back of her head. “The thing is…, when I was done, I was about to leave the room, but then I spotted a hidden security camera. Of course, I panicked and threw things at it to destroy it. But… I wasn’t successful, so I fear he must have watched the clip or seen it…”
I was dumbfounded and didn’t know what to say.
The fact that she’d thought about it and actually gone ahead to execute it was what baffled me the most.
Taking a deep breath and releasing it, I asked, “Why do you think so?”
“This morning, when I went back into his room to spoil something else, I saw a new security camera, and his walk-in closet door was locked.”
“He knows it was you.” I said absentmindedly.

“Yeah, I haven’t figured that out yet.” Sierra said sarcastically. “He’s going to kill me.”
Won’t be dramatic.”

She sighed. “I… I’m still in disbelief. After I saw him shoot that man… I had my suspicions, but I didn’t expect him to be this… dangerous.”
I trapped my bottom lip between my teeth. “Is it that dangerous?”
“The Bratva? Girl, yes. And I know you always like to say I’m just cooking up conspiracy theories, but you can look it up. They kill people, trade weapons, drugs… all the bad, dangerous stuff.” Sierra explained.
I walked to the couch and sat down. I suspected these things because I also had an idea of what the Brava was about, but hearing it from Sierra made it more real.
I couldn’t be in denial anymore.
“Arabella?” Sierra called, her voice stricken with panic.
I looked up. “What?”
She clamped her hand over her mouth. “Your arm… You’ve ripped the bandage… it’s not looking good.”
Hesitantly, I glanced at it and grimaced. The bandage was soaked with blood, and the spot where I guessed the bullet went in was darker and visibly strained, even though it was stitched.
I was shot? As if thinking about it reminded me of the wound, the dull throb there started getting more intense, and I hissed.
I’d completely forgotten about it and was moving recklessly. Now it hurt badly.
“Oh my God… This is bad. Let me tell the guards… we need to call a doctor…” Sierra panicked. “Or Alvise…”
“No.” I breathed, standing up.
Sierra frowned. “Why?”
I held her gaze and looked around, making sure we were completely alone before I whispered, “I’m going to run away.”
