Read Arabella and Alvise novel Chapter 233
A Knock On The Door
ARABELLA’S POV
My legs felt wobbly, each rough word he spoke against my skin feeling like he was igniting sparks into it.
I pulled back, craning my head to make sure his mouth was no longer on my skin.
Alvise leaned back, and his eyes bored into mine, his breath fanning my face.
“I’m not going to stay here forever, Alvise.” I reminded him. “I’m going to leave, eventually!
Something in his eyes made my heart still. It was dangerously close to conflict, like he had a different plan from what I implied.
I began to worry.
I’d said it confidently, because I actually believed what I said and was going to make sure that was the case
So why was the look of disbelief on his face? What did that mean?
Before I could ask him, his hands disappeared from my body, and he took a step back.
“Don’t step outside, Arabella.” He said, and then he turned around and walked out of the room.
I hated the feeling that coated my mind so much, I bit my lips hard and sat on the bed. I felt extremely lonely, with no one to talk to and no one who would even listen to me.
It made me wonder how my life had changed so much within the span of a few weeks.
Was Archie looking for me? Did he even notice I left? Were my parents still trying to reach out to me?
I had answers to none of those questions, and in some messed-up way, I didn’t even want to have the answers because it would only make me sadder than I already was,
And so, with that thought, I lay in the bed and did the only thing I’d been doing constantly for the past twenty-four hours.
I slept.
There was banging on the door.
So loud that I rolled in bed and snapped my eyes open, scrunching my face up in confusion.
I allowed myself to think it was a nightmare, until the banging got louder and I could hear voices outside
the door.
My heartbeat picked up, and I sat on the bed, confused. I was torn between ignoring the knocks and going back to sleep, but the latter wasn’t possible with how much noise was being made.
The door was unlocked, so I wondered why whoever it was didn’t just open it until I remembered it was

Alvise’s room and they were probably scared to enter.

Not up from the bed hesitantly and walked to the door, but stopped with my hand on the doorknob when I recalled Alvise telling me to stay inside.
Slowly, I stepped back and turned around, but the knocking continued, and it was giving me anxiety, so I yanked the door open.
The sight before me made me walk back, my chest tightening just by the sight of the evil woman in front of me.
Tatiana’s nostrils flared, and she let out a bitter laugh. “You didn’t learn anything, did you? You have the audacity to follow him here? Are you crazy?” She yelled, her voice echoing through the walls.
My eyes moved from her to her loyal maid standing beside her, and I felt the urge to hit both their heads together and call it a day.
“What do you want?” I asked, holding my arms and trying to sound relaxed, though my nerves were getting the best of me.
“What do I want?” She scoffed in disbelief. “You’re in my husband’s room, dressed like a fucking hooker, and you’re asking me what I want?”
The rage in her voice made the hairs on my body stand up. I didn’t want to be scared of her, but I couldn’t help it.
I’d seen what she was capable of doing and just how crazy she was, so there was no way I could ever see her the same way.
I looked down at my dress and sighed. “I’m not dressed like a hooker, Tatiana. You probably need glasses…”
“Don’t you fucking dare try to talk back at me!” She snapped, the venom in her voice making me flinch.
I could see her lips trembling as she ran her hands through her hair. “You know… I thought what happened the first time would serve as a sound warning to you, and you would back off, but here we are.” She took a step closer until she was one step into the room. “Bitch, I want you to know that you can never take my place.”
“I’m not trying to.” I retorted, frowning. “And I didn’t come here willingly.”
“Oh.” She tapped her chin. “You want me to believe that you were brought here kicking and screaming with a fucking gun to your head?”
She looked like she was on the brink of losing control and actually trying to fight me, so I took another step back.
I nodded, replying to her question. “That’s almost similar to what happened…”
“Shut the fuck up!” She commanded, her whole body shaking from her visible rage. “I want you to pack your fucking things and leave. Now!”
I searched her face, the way her eyes were wide with anger and her cheeks were red. She was fuming.
But it wasn’t my fault. If she was pissed off that I was here, she had to direct that energy to the man who

brought me despite my pleas to stay back.
And how do you want me to do that?” I asked, looking from her to her maid. “Tell me.”
Tatiana frowned. “Book a flight and leave? It’s that simple.”

I huffed, genuinely appalled by her audacity. “So you came here screaming and shouting for me to leave.. but you don’t even plan on arranging the means of my departure?” I said, humouring her.
I was desperate to go back to London, but not so desperate that I would enter any flight booked by Tatiana. That is, unless I had a death wish. I was just humouring her, so she would leave me alone.
Tatiana looked me in the eye and snorted. “The only departure I’ll ever arrange for you is your death.”
