Read Arabella and Alvise novel Chapter 255
Stop Doing That …
ARABELLA’S POV
I stilled, the feel of his lips on my skin and his words making my heart stop.
Did he just apologize to me?
Alvise Valerio apologized to me? I was struggling to believe it, but more so…. he was being so gentle and soft… actions I didn’t ever think he was capable of.
For a moment, I wanted to believe it was a mistake, but he proved me wrong when he leaned back, his eyes boring into mine.
It was almost like I was no longer breathing, and all I could do was look into his eyes and wait for him to say something.
Anything.
“You haven’t had dinner,” Alvise whispered, searching my face.
The flutter in my stomach made me look away, biting my lip hard.
I wasn’t trying to be difficult. It was just hard to act unaffected when my body always reacted to him and gave away just how much his actions affected me.
I didn’t like it.
“You’re not saying anything, Arabella,” he said, raising his brow.
“I’m not hungry,” I mumbled, looking at anything but him.
His fingers grazed my skin, gently guiding my head to face him so I was looking at him.
“You told me you were hungry barely an hour ago. What changed?’
I blinked. “I lost my appetite…” I took a deep breath, bracing myself for my next words. “You made me lose my appetite.”
For a second, I regretted saying that and so dreaded whether he was pissed off by my words, since there was a long stretch of silence. But to my surprise, all he did was watch me, like he was trying to figure out what I was thinking.
A knock on the door made me jolt, almost falling from my spot on his lap until his hands came down on my waist, steadying me.
“You need to be careful,” he said, the corner of his lips tipping up.
The knock sounded again, and Alvise answered. “Come in.”
My eyes widened, and I glanced down at our position. “What…” I tried to jump off his leg, but he held me in place, refusing to release his grip.

The door opened a second later, and I buried my head in the crook of his neck, heat rising to my cheeks.
What was he thinking?
I didn’t want anyone to see us in such a suggestive position, and it wasn’t just because it made me shy.
Considering how extra and, dare I say, toxic his family was, everyone that lived in the mansion was going. to be aware of this tomorrow.
And I didn’t know how to feel.
“Anything else, sir?”
My breath hitched in my throat as the familiar voice broke the strained silence.
It was Irina.
“No,” Alvise said. “You can leave.”
I waited to hear the door close before I straightened out, my mind already drifting to a thousand places.
Irina being the one who saw us only meant she was going to relay everything to Tatiana, and that rubbed me the wrong way already.
“Why do you have that expression on your face?”
I raised my brows. “What expression?”
Alvise rubbed his upper lip with his thumb and opened his mouth to speak, but as if he thought better of it, he shook his head.
“Your dinner is here already.”
I turned to the table and saw the tray of food on it, but instead of salivating, I eyed it warily.
He leaned forward, bringing his lips dangerously close to my face, “What’s the problem?”
I trapped my bottom lip between my teeth, about to say something, but he cut me off.
“You need to stop doing that, Arabella,” he said calmly, though his words were almost strained.
Once again, I was confused. I raised a brow. “Doing what?”
His eyes landed on my lips, and I immediately understood what he meant.
Panicking, I released my lips, but that only made his eyes narrow. “Fucking hell,” he hissed, and in a split second, he gently pushed me onto the bed before standing up.
What did I do?
Alvise walked to the table and grabbed the tray of food, placing it on the mini stool in the room and bringing it to me.
“Eat,” he said, straightening out and slipping his hands into his pockets.

“Are you going to watch me eat?” I snapped, eyeing the food like it was poisoned.
probably was considering it was Irina who brought it over.
I didn’t trust her.
Like his patience was wearing thin, Alvise glanced at his wristwatch. “What are you waiting for?” he asked..
“What are the chances that your staff could poison me?” I inquired cautiously, tangling my fingers together.
“Zero.”
I scoffed. “Considering how crazy your house is, I don’t think the answer is zero.”
His jaw tightened. “Eat your food, Arabella.”
“I already told you I don’t want to…”
“Don’t give me that,” he warned. “I’m giving you a chance to do it yourself, or I’ll do it for you.”
Gone was the soft Alvise who whispered rough words over my forehead and back was the cold, stoic man who loved to order me around.
My tears had dried on my face, reminding me of how he hurt me today and why I refused to eat in the first place.
But instead of going back and forth with him, I started eating, taking my time and not bothering that he was towering over me, assessing each bite like I had a waste bin in my mouth where I was dumping all the food.
I shoved a slice of steak into my mouth before I snapped my head up to look at him. “If I die in my sleep because of this food, I’ll make sure to haunt you for the rest of my life,” I gritted out.
He was unamused, his face as rigid and sharp as ever. “Finish up,” he said coldly.
I shook my head, annoyed and frustrated.
Why did I even bother talking to him after what he did?
“No wonder your house is crazy,” I mumbled under my breath. “The owner is just as deranged. I can’t wait to leave.”
Alvise suddenly leaned closer, bringing his face closer to mine, and a shocked gasp escaped my lips.
“Get the ridiculous thoughts that you’ll ever leave out of your head,” he said, his voice firm. “It’s not happening.” His hands wrapped around my throat, and then he pulled me forward until his lips brushed against mine continuously as he spoke. “And shut your mouth until you finish every single piece of food on the fucking tray, or else I’ll put this tease of a mouth to another use.”
