His Pov- Underestimation
ANVISE’S POV

It was one thing to entertain intrusion once for the purpose of maintaining a false sense of peace.
But it was an entirely different thing to be expected to continuously tolerate repeated disrespected, to an extreme… underestimation.
I never gave a shit about people underestimating me.
It was always easy to simply take them out, as I’ve said before.
I just didn’t care.
And I never would.
But now, I was in a tricky situation. Or rather, the correct term was… I’d been in a tricky situation.
I’d known Archie was going to come to Russia long before he even booked the flight and headed to the airport.
I had the opportunity to stop him, but oh well, we know how that went.
I got a little distracted.
But that didn’t mean I still couldn’t stop him at the airport. I just didn’t.
Why?
Because it would have required force and probably led to his death.
I wasn’t a sentimental person, but I could still recognize that, unintentionally, I’d built some sort of ‘friendship’ with him. More than I’d ever attempted to entertain with anyone else.
Though even that could have counted for nothing if I weren’t currently married to his sister.
I knew my wife.
My green-eyed, ticking time bomb of a wife.
She would never recover from me harming Archie, even if I’d wanted to do it.
However, my hesitance had its limits.
I was going to let him meet her, and then we’d all have a conversation. But if he refused to understand or tried to voice his disapproval of our marriage, I wouldn’t be so hesitant anymore.
A lot had happened in the past fucking twenty-four hours, much of which had been tied to him and the mess he’d created upon arrival.
Nonetheless, his situation wasn’t what currently irritated me.

It was his damn parents.

Snapping out of my infuriating thoughts, I looked up, my eyes locking with Arabella’s as she sat back down on the bed, her brows knitted together.
“Are you being serious?”
I wished I wasn’t.
But I was.
“I don’t joke, Arabella,” I said, finally sending the text I’d typed out to Andrei before tossing my phone onto the couch.
Arabella looked unsettled, her gaze lowered to her thighs.
Unlike her relationship with her brother, I didn’t have a clear view of her relationship with her parents.
In fact, I didn’t have any view at all.
I’d been around Archie when he spoke to them on the phone a few times or informed me he was going to
visit them.
There were also a few times… maybe twice or thrice, when I’d met them in passing.
I’d also heard him complain about his sister distancing herself from them.
But… I’d never paid attention to it.
Now, I had no choice but to.
“Colour me surprised,” Arabella mumbled under her breath, shaking her head absentmindedly. “Who would have thought I’d have my parents looking for me before Archie did?”
I tapped a finger against my wristwatch.
I should tell her Archie was already looking for her.
But not now.
I deliberately brought this trip forward so we’d have time alone, where I could finally reveal some things to her before anyone else got to her.
After the stunt that fool William pulled, I didn’t trust anyone not to try to take her away from me.
“How do you know they’re looking for me?” my wife whispered, raising a brow. “Did they contact you?”
“Your parents don’t have any way of contacting me, Arabella,” I said dryly.
“Oh… knowing my parents, I just thought since you and Archie were best friends, they must have tried to get your phone number.”

She was right.
They did try,” Lconfirmed, scraping my tongue over my teeth. “I just didn’t give it to them.”
Arabella nodded, biting her lip as she held my gaze. “Tell me how you know, then.”
A muscle ticked in my jaw. “They filed a missing person’s report at the police station.”
“What?” Her mouth fell open, her green eyes widening. “They went that far?”
They sure did.
“And I was named the suspect,” I said, unclasping my wristwatch and sliding it off my wrist.
“Wait… You are the culprit,” Arabella mused. “But how do they know that?”
Her question brought me back to the root of my irritation.
Disrespect and underestimation.

Someone out there, or rather, definitely more than one person, mistook my desire to handle this situation level-headedly for some sort of weakness.
They were mistaken.
“That’s what I’m trying to find out,” I informed Arabella, searching her face. “Tell me, did you reveal my identity to your best friend?”
She opened her mouth, closed it, and averted her gaze.
My eyes narrowed.
I had my answer.
“Even after I told you not to?” I inquired, tapping my foot against the floor.”
Arabella didn’t say a word, keeping her eyes fixed on everything but me.
“Look at me.”
Slowly, she turned, her eyes locking with mine. “She figured it out herself after you shot that man in front of her, and she confronted me… and yes… I confirmed it,” she explained, her eyes flashing with worry. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to get you into trouble with the law, and…”
I chuckled darkly, genuinely intrigued and, dare I say, amused. “Trouble? Tell me, wife, do you think I’m in trouble?”
Arabella squinted, biting her lip. “You said my parents went to the police, and you look pissed.”
“The police station they reported to informed me about it themselves, Arabella,” I muttered, surprised she’d think I could get into trouble with the law.
