Read Arabella and Alvise novel Chapter 62
“Arabella!” she screeched, rushing toward me. “How are you? I’ve been worried sick.”
I had been perfectly fine until she walked in. I desperately wished I could say that to her face, but I forced myself to stay calm. The last thing I wanted was for Archie to notice even more of the tension between us.
I didn’t smile. I simply gave her a blank look. “I’ve been better,” I replied.
She chuckled lightly, giving my leg a playful pat. “I can tell.”
I ignored the obvious jab and shifted my attention to Archie as he reached for the remote.
“What are you doing?” I asked, my brows knitting together.
“Francesca doesn’t like animated movies,” Archie replied as he changed what was playing on the TV.
Irritation flared inside me, but I forced myself to swallow it.
I couldn’t believe Archie was interrupting a movie we’d been watching together simply because she didn’t like that genre.
I couldn’t care less what she liked or didn’t like.
“I’ll
go get you some snacks,” Archie said to Francesca before disappearing into the kitchen.
The moment he was out of earshot, Francesca’s fake smile vanished, replaced by a sickening scowl. “I thought I told you to stay away from him.”
I groaned inwardly, genuinely exhausted by the ridiculous things I constantly had to deal with. “If you have something to say.” I replied evenly, “then say it.”
Her nostrils flared. “What were you doing with Alvise at a hotel?”
I took a slow breath before scoffing. “I was working. I’m sure you know I have a job.”

She grabbed my arm beneath the comforter and squeezed hard enough to make me wince. “I don’t like repeating myself, Arabella. Stay away from him.” Her eyes darkened. “I don’t want any form of contact between the two of you.”
Anger flared inside me, my chest rising and falling. “Like I said, I was there for work. It was for a…”
The doorbell rang again, cutting me off mid-sentence.
“Arabella, please get the door,” I heard Archie call from the kitchen.
With my brows furrowed, I ignored Francesca’s glare, got to my feej, and walked toward the door. I unlocked it and slowly pulled it open.
My breath caught in my throat. “Alvise?”
