Chapter 19 Within 30 Minutes
The housekeeper had been on duty already before Thalia even arrived at Crestfall Group.
Everyone in the office knew that Alden had always been indifferent toward Thalia, who had always tolerated it and never once contradicted him. Even when they had different opinions on a project, she would always be willing to compromise afterward.
What was going on today?
“Ms. Marquette, are you alright?” the housekeeper asked cautiously.
Thalia curved her lips into a smile. “I’m fine. Please continue with your work. Please disinfect the area on the couch thoroughly and take out the trash when you leave.”
The housekeeper was stunned. Was Thalia disgusted by where Alden had sat?
However, the housekeeper didn’t overthink it, assuming Thalia was just upset and would soften up soon. Thalia would definitely apologize to him after her temper faded.
Alden had assumed the same as well. He sat with a dark expression on the leather chair back in his office, waiting for her to show up.
They had argued before, and Thalia would always give in and apologize to him. Alden was certain that she would walk in within 30 minutes.
However, the door hadn’t been knocked on as time passed.
He suddenly heard movement outside before he completely lost his patience.
He sneered. There she was.
“Mr. Crestfall.”
His smile stiffened the very next moment at the voice of the person who came.
His assistant walked in. Only then did Alden regain his senses and snap, “Why is it you?”
His assistant, Quentin Lawson, was slightly stunned. “You asked me to come at this time.”
Quentin thought he had remembered the time wrongly and even double–checked his watch.
Alden’s expression turned icy when he saw the stack of documents in Quentin’s hands.
On the way to the company, Quentin had called and told Alden that several documents required his signature. But Alden wanted to find Thalia first, so he asked Quentin to come at 10:00 am.
It had been over an hour now.
What exactly was Thalia doing?
“Put it down and get out.” Alden tugged at his collar with suppressed anger.
Quentin sensed his bad mood and feared causing any trouble, so he quickly placed the documents in front of him and turned around to leave in a hurry.
“Wait.” Alden stopped him.
Quentin stopped in her tracks and said with a trembling voice, “Mr. Crestfall, is there anything else you need?”
“Bring Thalia to me.”
Meanwhile, Thalia leaned back in her chair. Her mood had improved considerably as she breathed in the fresh air in her

She took out her phone and played the recording she secretly took earlier.
She hadn’t wanted to resort to this. However, she worried that the divorce proceedings would take an unexpected turn, so she could only gather evidence of Alden’s infidelity first, just in case it came in handy.
Henrietta called her at the moment.
Thala answered the call “Hello, Grandma”
“Lia, where are you?” Henrietta’s gentle voice came from the other end of the phone.
Thalia sailed faintly. “I just got to the office”
She hadn’t returned home last night.
Henrietta had been worried all night. She also thought about how Thalia and Alden still hadn’t had a child, which was why Josephine favored Kera so much. Thalia’s position in the household would deteriorate further if things continued this way.
It broke Henrietta’s heart to see Thalia being treated that way. She couldn’t bear to see her suffer, so she went to Lapis Abbey to pray for blessings and a child for Thalia
However, Henrietta still saw no sign of Thalia when she returned home. Unable to put her mind at ease, she called Thalia.
“Alright, go and get busy with your work. I made some broth for you, so I’ll wait for you to come back and taste it at night.”
Thelle hurried to reply, “I’m sorry, Grandma. I promised my father I’d have dinner with him at the Marquette residence.”
Henrietta was even more certain that Thalia must be upset after hearing that she was returning to the Marquette residence. Therefore, she didn’t press her further. “You should go back more often. It can be tough for your father to be alone at home.”
Thalla was about to say that it was because Tyren had returned before a knock sounded at the door. She looked up to see Quentin standing there.
