Chapter 46

After lunch was over, Hayden knew that Tristan wanted to speak to Kieran, so he excused himself along with the principal and school administrators.

Kieran and Tristan took a stroll together. They had been walking for a while when Kieran asked, ” Have you decided on a name for the child?”

“We’ll decide once the child is born,” Tristan replied.

“No matter what you’re doing now, you have to remember that the child is innocent. You’re part of society now too, so I hope that you’ll take responsibility for your family.” Kieran truly hoped that Tristan would learn his lesson and turn over a new leaf.

He continued, “The rest of your life will be affected if you mismanage your marriage. Of course, you’re still young now. You’re successful, and you have a woman you fancy. You’re energetic and full of vitality, so you think that you can handle anything that comes your way.

“I know that you’re not going to like hearing these words from me, but as someone who has experienced the world, I just want to remind you that love can disappear in the blink of an eye. A bond of mutual support is what’s going to last forever.

“Anyway, I can’t control the decisions that you make. I can only hope that you’ll be able to accept the consequences of your actions in the future.”

Tristan was utterly serious as he listened to Kieran’s words, but his expression remained as indifferent as ever, making it difficult for one to discern his emotions. “I understand what you’re trying to tell me, Mr. Fulton Senior.”

Kieran glanced at him. He didn’t care if Tristan actually understood him or not. He didn’t say

another word.

The two of them continued chatting with each other as they continued their walk.

Colin drove the car over when Kieran was ready to leave.

Tristan walked Kieran to the car. He stood in place and watched the car until it disappeared from his line of sight. He then turned around and left.

Stella went downstairs for a walk after she had her lunch. The maple trees had completely lost all their fiery red leaves, and there were only a handful of them left clinging to the branches, looking like they were on the verge of falling.

She bumped into Hayden, who was just returning from the canteen. When she noticed that he was alone, she asked, “Where’s Mr. Fulton, Professor Jenkins?”

“He had other business to attend to, so he already left,” he replied.

Stella hummed in response.

Hayden joined Stella on her walk. She couldn’t walk too far before needing to sit down and rest. Coincidentally, there was a swing right in front of them. She walked over to it and sat down, leisurely pushing herself back and forth on it.

Hayden leaned against a pillar that was nearby and chatted with her. “Oh, that’s right. There’s a concert on Saturday. You and Annabeth can go together.”

“Sounds good. It’s a good opportunity to let the baby build her character,” Stella said.

Hayden swept his gaze over Stella’s stomach, saying, “I bet she’s going to be a very smart baby.”

Stella had been cradling her stomach, so she could clearly feel it jolting.

“What’s wrong?” Hayden asked.

“As expected, she’s a smart one,” Stella said with a smile. “She got excited after hearing you praise
