Chapter 50

Chapter 50
Stella turned back to look at Tristan when he walked in.
Lily quickly brought him his house slippers and took his black coat.
Layla happened to come out of her room when she saw that he had returned.
“Have you had dinner?” she asked.
Tristan hummed in acknowledgement before heading upstairs.
Stella simply pulled her gaze away quietly.
When Layla called Gary the following day, Gary told her that the other company would be reevaluating Welleon Realty before deciding if they would sign the acquisition agreement.
Stella couldn’t help but feel a little suspicious upon hearing that. Usually, if something like that were to happen so close to the signing, it would be simply an excuse to back out. There was a 90% chance that the signing would fall through in the end.
Clearly, there was an issue right at the finish line, and it was certainly not because of Welleon Realty. It seemed that someone had gotten involved to make the other company regret its decision. This was nothing new in the cutthroat world of business.
If a major company refused the acquisition, then it would become extremely tough to find another suitable company to acquire the company at a suitable price later on.
Stella wanted to talk in detail with Gary in person, and Layla couldn’t be at ease either at the moment, so they decided to return to the Roberts residence.
Tristan was home that day, so Stella had to notify him about it..
She went upstairs, but he wasn’t in the study. She thought that he was probably in his bedroom,
and the door was left ajar, so she stepped inside.
Tristan’s bedroom was incredibly spacious. Everything was mostly covered in cool tones. The decor was minimalistic, and every corner exuded an air of luxurious elegance. There were basically no unnecessary decorations. One could take in the view of the calm lake by standing in front of the huge floor-to-ceiling window.
Tristan was in the bathroom. He had probably just finished working out, so he was taking a
shower.
Just as Stella was about to wait for him outside the bedroom, she heard the door to the bathroom open. She remained in place when Tristan walked out in a navy robe. His hair was half-dried, with a few strands falling on his forehead, and his deep-set features were simply flawless.
His gaze darkened after he saw Stella, and he asked, “What is it?”
Stella regained her senses and said, “I just came to tell you that Layla and I are making a trip

home tonight.”

Tristan said nothing, so Stella didn’t stay any longer. She simply turned around and left the room.
An hour later, Stella and Layla arrived at Maven Manor. Jonathan was home that day too.
“Dad, Jonathan,” Stella called out, greeting the two of them.
Looking at her, Jonathan said, “It’s been some time since I last saw you, and your belly has gotten
so prominent. You’re about to give birth soon, aren’t you?”
“Yes, I’m expected to be delivering somewhere around the middle of next month,” Stella said.
Jonathan nodded and replied, “You should take good care of your health.”
After the housekeeper made lunch, the entire family sat at the dining table and chatted over the
meal.
The company that Gary was negotiating with was Millennium Realty, and their headquarters was in Seaview. They were backed by MK Group, so they had great financial resources.
They had evaluated Welleon Realty for more than a month, and everything had been smooth sailing throughout the entire process, so Gary had no idea why they wanted to reevaluate their
company.
Stella couldn’t help but feel worried upon hearing that. If this matter wasn’t handled properly, Gary and Layla probably wouldn’t be in the mood for a wedding when the time came.
“It’s Monday tomorrow, and I’ll see if I can invite Mr. Gilmore from Millennium Realty to lunch. Let’s see if I can get more information out of him then,” Gary said.
“Gary, if you manage to invite him to lunch, I’ll go with you,” Jonathan said.
Gary hummed in agreement.
After they were done discussing that, Gary checked in on Stella.
“I’m doing quite well now. You don’t need to worry about me, Dad,” Stella said.
“That’s good to hear,” Gary replied.
Stella decided to stay the night. After she returned to her room, she dialed a number, and the call was answered very quickly.
“Ms. Fenton, it’s been a long time since I last contacted you. How have you been?” Stella asked.
She had been in contact with many top executives of major companies back when she was Tristan’s assistant. Aspica Capital and MK Group had formed a close partnership. The Ms. Fenton she mentioned was Victoria Fenton, a top executive at MK Group.
Because they had worked together in the past, Stella had taken Victoria around Justicia when she came over on a business trip, showing her a good time. Victoria was more than ten years older than her, but they got along quite well.
