Chapter 51

Victoria and Stella had kept each other in contact ever since.

However, Stella was demoted after that, and Victoria went abroad to take care of some business. The last time they contacted each other was because Victoria found out that she had been demoted, though Stella didn’t tell her the specific reason.

Victoria was surprised to receive a call from Stella. She exclaimed, “You’re right. It’s been such a long time. Have you been well lately?”

Both of them exchanged some pleasantries before Stella said, “I have a favor to ask of you, Ms.

Fenton.”

Victoria didn’t turn her down, and she said, “Go ahead.”

Stella then told her everything briefly.

“Alright. I’ll help you ask about this and let you know tomorrow,” Victoria said.

Stella didn’t think Victoria would agree so instantly.

After she hung up the call, she left her room and told Gary and the others about it.

With a nod, Gary said, “We’ll be more confident when handling this if we knew the reason.”

Stella decided to spend the night at the Roberts residence and hesitated about whether she should call to let Tristan know. She didn’t make the call in the end. He probably wouldn’t care

anyway.

Sure enough, Tristan didn’t call her at all that night.

The next morning, Gary and Jonathan went to the office. Layla, on the other hand, stayed at home to keep Stella company. She had received some nutritious foods from her hometown again, so she decided to prepare them for Stella for lunch.

Richard Gilmore from Millennium Realty, the person in charge of the acquisition case, had politely declined Gary’s invitation for lunch. That meant all they could do at the moment was to wait for Victoria’s news.

At 5:00 pm that day, Victoria called Stella back.

“Hello, Ms. Fenton,” Stella greeted.

“About the acquisition of Welleon Realty, our CEO hasn’t signed the agreement. Someone had prevented the document from being signed,” Victoria said.

Stella was surprised that their CEO had yet to pen his signature. “Who was it who stopped it?”

“Richard Gilmore is in charge of the acquisition. I heard from him that it’s because of the heiress of the company,” Victoria explained.

“The heiress?” Stella frowned.

Sure enough, it was for a personal reason that the acquisition had been blocked. It had nothing to do with their company at all.

Victoria said, “She had looked into Welleon Realty before. Maybe she just happened to know that Millennium Realty was acquiring Welleon Realty.

“She called Richard about it. She is a shareholder of the company, and the CEO dotes on her very much. She’s precious to MK Group. So, Welleon Realty has probably crossed her. It’s best if you ask your father if the company has offended her.”

How could Gary possibly have offended the heiress of MK Group? They didn’t even belong in the same circle.

“Ms. Fenton, who’s the heiress?” Stella asked.
