Victoria dropped Stella a text after the call, saying, “If you’re really out of a solution, you can contact Mr. Quinton yourself. I can give you his number.”
“Alright. Thank you, Ms. Fenton,” Stella replied.
Victoria then sent Scott’s contact to her.
After Gary and Jonathan returned home that night, Stella didn’t tell them the specific reason. She
simply brushed them off for the time being.
That was because she was worried Gary would find out that the company that would be acquiring Welleon Realty was owned by the family of her husband’s mistress. Gary would certainly
terminate the collaboration immediately if he did.
Even though Tristan was like a son-in-law that never existed to Gary, he was still Stella’s husband. Gary had always been very guilty about her marriage to him.
The Somerton’family had given the Robers family 100 million dollars and also a project as a wedding gift to celebrate Stella and Tristan’s union back then. If it weren’t because they owed the Sommerton family a favor, Gary certainly would agree to let his daughter suffer such a huge
grievance.
Jonathan could tell that Stella had the intention to hide the truth from them, but he didn’t press any further. He texted her in private to ask about it instead.
Stella didn’t keep it from him and told him everything.
She had no idea why Audrey was targeting her since doing so wouldn’t fulfill any of her needs. Tristan only had eyes for Audrey. He had asked Stella for a divorce for her. Audrey should know very well that even if Stella was Tristan’s wife, she was not a threat to her at all. Perhaps Audrey simply wanted to give her a hard time.
Judging by how Audrey locked horns with Annabeth the last time, Stella knew she was an extremely self-centered person with a thirst for revenge.
Tristan was willing to terminate his collaboration with Dorne Bank for her, so even if he were to find out that she had stopped the acquisition of Welleon Realty, he probably wouldn’t say anything.
If Stella didn’t tread lightly and ended up pissing off Audrey, she might trigger retaliation from
Tristan.
If she wanted to get the acquisition agreement signed, she would have no choice but to talk to Scott. At least he looked like a reasonable person. Perhaps she still had a chance.
She also wanted to take the responsibility off her father’s shoulder as soon as possible.
Stella shared her thoughts with Jonathan and asked him to keep them a secret from Gary for now.

Jonathan felt bad that he couldn’t help. They had been negotiating with Millennium Realty for so long. If they couldn’t get the agreement signed, not only would all their efforts be in vain, but it would be a significant loss to Welleon Realty.
“Alright. Let me know immediately if any happens,” Jonathan said.
“Yes, I will,” Stella said.
The following day, Stella asked Gary to give her all the relevant information about Welleon Realty. She told him she just wanted to see if there were any issues with them.
Gary didn’t want to tire her out, so he said he would take care of it himself. However, Stella insisted, so he had no choice but to send her a detailed copy of the internal information.
Stella spent an entire morning looking through all the relevant details and found no issues. She hesitated for a very long time before she finally called Scott. However, since it was his work
number, his secretary answered the call.
After Stella told her the reason she called, she received a formal, no-nonsense reply from the
secretary. “Mr. Quinton is not directly involved in this, so please follow the proper procedures. The
person in charge of this case would reply to you after they have completed the evaluation.”
Stella wanted to say something else, but she hung up the call immediately after.
Helpless, Stella had no choice but to turn to Hayden. They should be from the same social circle, so it would probably be very easy for Hayden to get in touch with Scott.
Hayden didn’t pick up her call, but he texted her instead. “I’m in a meeting. I’ll return your call
after this.”
“Alright. Sorry for bothering you, Professor Jenkins,” Stella replied.
