“It just so happens that there’s a business cocktail party tonight. Scott is probably going to attend. If it’s convenient for you, I can take you there and help you arrange a meeting with him. You can

talk to him in person,” Hayden said.

“Alright. Sorry to trouble you, Professor Jenkins,” said Stella.

“It’s no big deal. You should get ready. I’ll pick you up after work,” Hayden said.

“Alright. I’ll be at Maven Manor,” Stella told him.

“Alright,” Hayden said before hanging up.

Stella printed all the information out and quickly freshened herself up. She put on light makeup

to make her look at least a little more decent.

She told Layla that she would be attending a business cocktail party with Hayden that night, but she only said that it was to deal with the issues Gary’s company was facing.

Worried, Layla wanted to follow along.

However, Stella reassured her, “It’s fine, Layla. I’ll be with Professor Jenkins.”

Layla didn’t insist anymore and said, “Fine. Go ahead, then.”

At 6:00 pm, Hayden picked Stella up after she had dinner. She brought the document with her and got into his car.

Layla was still worried, so she gave her a few reminders.

“Don’t worry, Ms. Bastion. I’ll take good care of Stelle,” Hayden reassured her.

“I’ll leave her in your care, then, Professor Jenkins,” Layla said.

Hayden hummed in agreement and drove off toward the hotel.

“Why did your father want to sell the company off?” he asked.

“It’s hard for the company to transform right now. It was already on the verge of going bankrupt back then. It’s because I got married to Tristan that it made it through the crisis. My father is getting up there, and he doesn’t have that much energy to run the company anymore. We might as well sell it off at the right time,” Stella explained.

Hayden nodded lightly.

After they arrived at the hotel, Hayden didn’t take Stella to the event hall. Instead, he spoke to the organizer and brought her to a lounge.

“Sit here and take a rest for a while. I’ll head to the party first,” Hayden said.

Hayden went into the event hall. All the people who attended the party were from the high society of Justicia. Some of them came up to greet him after they saw him, and he started chatting with them.

Ten minutes later, Scott arrived. Tristan and Audrey were with him. There was also a woman in a haute couture dress standing next to him, holding his arm. Their appearance together was simply a feast for the eyes.

Very soon, people started going up to talk to them.

Hayden waited for the right moment and went up to Scott when Tristan and Audrey were not with

him.

Seeing him, Scott said, “Mr. Jenkins.”

Both of them shook hands professionally.
