After they arrived at the public lounge at the hotel lobby, Stella gave Daniel a call.

Hayden stayed with her, wanting to help her into the car before leaving.

He looked at the document in her purse carefully and said, “Send a digital copy of it to me.”

Stella was taken aback as she seemed to have understood what Hayden meant. At this point, he was the only one who could help her.

“Alright,” Stella said before she sent the copy to him on her phone.

Hayden looked at his phone and said, “The chairman of a real estate company is here at the party too. I can help you talk to him.”

For a moment, Stella was at a loss for words, not knowing how to thank him.

“You can save your thanks until after the deal is secured,” Hayden said.

Stella smiled. “Alright.”

20 minutes later, Daniel arrived at the hotel, and Hayden helped Stella into the car before returning to the event hall.

After Stella arrived home, she could clearly feel how sombre the mood was.

Jonathan was still working overtime at the office, so he wasn’t home yet.

Seeing that she had returned, Layla quickly went up to her with her house slippers for her to change into.

Stella saw Gary as soon as she walked into the living room.

“Stelle, you’re back,” he said.

Stella hummed in acknowledgment, and Layla helped her sit down. Stella told them about the situation and mentioned that Hayden would help them.

“Oh, I’m so thankful to Professor Jenkins,” Layla said, feeling relieved.

“Let’s hope we’ll have good news tomorrow,” said Stella.

Stella had initially planned to return to Sentella Bay the following day. However, when she thought of what happened last night, she couldn’t help but feel defiant. She suddenly didn’t wish to do as she was told by Tristan.

He was already joined at the hip with the woman he loved. Stella could tell that they often attended parties like that together. So, why should she follow his every order then? They weren’t really a married couple, anyway.

Layla asked her when she was going to return. She was still worried that Tristan would get upset

with Stella.

“I’m not going back there for now. I’ll think about it after this issue with Dad’s company is

resolved,” she answered.

Seeing how firm she was, Layla asked, “Did something happen?”

Stella and Tristan hardly communicated with each other, but Layla could tell that she was afraid of him. The commanding air that Tristan exuded was simply too strong that anybody would feel

intimidated.

Stella didn’t explain and simply said, “It’s nothing.”

Since she wasn’t willing to tell, Layla didn’t press any further.

Even though she didn’t follow Tristan’s order to go back to the villa, he didn’t call her either. However, she knew he must be deeply unhappy with her at the moment.

The baby must have felt her emotions because she kicked her.

Stella rubbed her belly and muttered to herself, saying, “I really hope you’ll remember me in the future, baby.”

She would talk to the baby and sing to her every day whenever she had time. Her due date was getting closer, which meant they would have to part soon. Her heart grew heavier with every passing moment.
