Soon, Stella received a call from Hayden. He had spoken to the chairman of Crestline Development, and someone from the company would contact Gary’s company that same day.

Crestline Development was a large real estate company, ranking among the top ten in the country. They were financially comparable to Millennium Realty.

“I’ve taken care of it for you. Don’t worry. Just take care of yourself and the baby in your belly,” Hayden said.

Stella couldn’t be more grateful to Hayden for his tremendous help. “I owe you a huge favor, Professor Jenkins.”

Hayden said nothing else and hung up the call.

Justin happened to walk in when Hayden hung up the call. He overheard Hayden’s conversation with Stella, so he poked fun at him. “What a kind and handsome man you are, Professor Jenkins.

Being your student has such great perks!”

Hayden shot him a glance. “I am to blame for this. Please follow up on it for me.

Justin’s uncle was the chairman of Crestline Development, and he, himself, was a shareholder. He

already knew that Millennium Realty had rejected the acquisition of Welleon Realty.

He couldn’t help but feel curious and asked, “You’re to blame? This can’t have something to do

with Audrey, can it?”

Hayden took a sip of his coffee, not denying it.

Justin immediately figured everything out. He leaned against Hayden’s desk and teased, “Looks like Ms. York is still hung up on you. She already has Tristan, but she’s still thinking about you. It’s true that people simply want what they can’t have. Say, Hayden, do you think Tristan knows that she used to be after you?”

Hayden threw a file at him, and he quickly caught it.

“If you have time to gossip, you might as well get your job done,” Hayden said.

“Gosh, don’t be so uptight. You don’t even allow gossip, How are you going to find a girlfriend in the future?” Justin grumbled.

Hayden was speechless.

Meanwhile, Stella received news from her father that someone from Crestline Development had contacted him. They would send someone to the company to discuss the details.

Hearing the relaxed tone in her father’s voice made Stella feel relieved.

However, the discussion between the two companies didn’t go as smoothly. The reason was that Aspica Capital had deliberately been interfering behind the scenes, so Rover Capital had no choice

Gary didn’t want to make Stella worry, so he had been keeping it from her. Hayden had been dealing with the situation behind the scenes, so he hadn’t been contacting Stella either.

Welleon Realty was just a medium-sized real estate company with assets barely over 100 million dollars, yet two major investment companies were secretly battling over it. Crestline Development was even pulled into the fight.

Because of that, it didn’t take long for the matter to gain significant attention within the industry. Everybody was making guesses about the real reason behind it. Some people even speculated that Aspica Capital was taking this opportunity to seek revenge on Rover Capital for securing Project Costa previously.

As the two major investment companies locked horns, regardless of who emerged as the winner, Welleon Realty would be the only one to suffer the consequences. In the end, probably nobody would dare to take over Welleon Realty anymore.

Stella’s heart grew heavier and heavier after she saw the news.

In fact, she had been worried whether Tristan would interfere. It seemed that her hunch was right.

It was clear that Tristan wasn’t simply trying to protect Audrey. He was also targeting Stella. He truly couldn’t stand the sight of Audrey suffering the tiniest grievance at all and would even go to such lengths to protect her.
