Eloise didn’t pry any further and rushed to the hospital instead.

Layla had been worried sick when Stella was taken to the emergency room last night. She had called Stella, but it was the medical personnel who answered the call.

Gary, Layla, and Jonathan immediately rushed to the hospital after that. It was after they saw that

Stella had stabilized that Gary and Jonathan returned home in the middle of the night. Layla, on

the other hand, stayed at the hospital to watch over Stella.

Layla hadn’t slept a wink the entire night. She went home at 4:00 am to prepare breakfast for Stella before returning to the hospital room.

Stella was having breakfast when she saw how worried Layla looked, so she comforted her,

saying, “I’m fine, Layla. Don’t worry.”

Layla felt bad for Stella. It turned out that a man could truly be so indifferent when he didn’t love a woman. Even if she was pregnant and unwell, he would just stand idly by and watch. However, she didn’t ask Stella about what happened between her and Tristan last night.

After Stella finished her breakfast, the nurse came in and performed a checkup on her.

At 9:00 am, Eloise arrived.

Stella was surprised to see her and called out, “Mrs. Somerton Senior.”

Eloise felt relieved to see that she was doing quite well at the moment though the first thing she asked was if the baby was fine.

Stella nodded lightly and said, “The doctor said she’s fine now.”

Eloise breathed a sigh of relief and said, “That’s good to know. Why were you suddenly

hospitalized?”

Stella lowered her gaze and fell silent, not knowing what to say.

Eloise didn’t press any further. She didn’t stay for too long. Seeing that Stella was fine, she told her to take good care of herself and left. She didn’t communicate with Layla at all the entire time

she was there.

This was the first time Layla met Eloise. As expected of a matriarch figure of an affluent family, Eloise exuded an extraordinary air. She was gentle to Stella, but she only cared about the baby in her belly. She could sense that she was ignoring her.

But that made sense. How could a small family like theirs be worthy of being noticed by a member of an affluent family?

Fortunately, Stella was about to divorce Tristan soon. Layla just felt sorry for the baby.

It was because Hayden had called Gary that he found out Stella had been hospitalized. He then

rushed over to visit her.
