Chapter 60

“Did you come all the way here just to ask me about my work?” Tristan asked.

Scott sat on the couch and snickered. “Please. Even if I tried to show that I care about you, you

wouldn’t appreciate it.

“Well, that’s not necessarily true.”

That response left Scott at a loss for words.

They joked around a little.

“Are you really not going to stop interfering with the Welleon Realty matter?” Scott asked. “It’s your father-in-law’s company.”

“It doesn’t matter who owns the company,” Tristan replied.

Scott knew what Tristan was like. He would never allow himself to fail. It wasn’t Scott’s place to say anything about his competition with Rover Capital.

Stella was discharged from the hospital that afternoon and went home. The doctor advised her to be on bed rest as much as possible for the next couple of days.

Gary was exhausted. The acquisition of his company had yet to be resolved, so he had gotten a fair amount of gray hair lately. He had learned that Millennium Realty planned to renegotiate, but he didn’t dare to celebrate prematurely.

Jonathan had been so busy raising funds for the company’s project lately that he was practically all tied up.

Stella learned that Rover Capital was very optimistic about the project that Evecore Technologies was developing. It had gone through two rounds of internal reviews.

Christmas was more than a week away. Time had passed by so quickly that in the blink of an eye, a new year was about to begin.

Millennium Realty had drafted the agreement to acquire Welleon Realty, and Scott had signed it. He also asked Richard to take care of it as soon as possible.

Once Richard received the order from Scott, he signed a series of relevant agreements with the top executives of Welleon Realty.

Soon, the media uncovered the news.

The people who had been following the situation were all confused about what was going on.

Millennium Realty had initially planned to acquire Welleon Realty, yet they backed out at the last

minute.

Then, Crestline Development took over the acquisition, only to be blocked by Aspica Capital. In response, Rover Capital got involved and supported Crestline Development in the acquisition.

After all that mess, Millennium Realty ended up acquiring Welleon Realty.

It all looked like it was all a setup by Millennium Realty, yet they still paid 200 million dollars in the end to acquire Welleon Realty.

The entire thing was simply confusing.

Audrey went to look for Scott immediately after she learned the news.

Scott had just ended the call with Tristan. He didn’t mention his decision to acquire Welleon Realty. Because of that, the battle between Aspica Capital and Rover Capital became a joke. With Aspica Capital involved, only Millennium Realty could take over Welleon Realty.

“Scott, why did you agree to buy Welleon Realty?” Audrey asked, clearly displeased.

Scott glanced at her as he flipped through the document in his hand. “They met our acquisition terms,” he explained. “Audrey, stop making a scene.”

Audrey felt so wronged that tears welled up in her eyes. “What do you mean I’m making a scene? You’re doing this on purpose!”

With that, she turned and ran out crying.

Scott’s assistant happened to walk in at that moment and saw everything.

“Go keep an eye on her. Don’t let anything happen to her,” Scott ordered.

“Yes, Mr. Quinton,” said the assistant. He quickly put down the documents in his hands and went after Audrey.

At noon, Scott and Tristan agreed to have lunch together.

“Why did you decide to do this?” Tristan asked calmly.

Scott poured him a glass of wine and said, “I apologize for not telling you beforehand and for the loss that Aspica Capital has suffered.”

Tristan didn’t reply.

Scott continued, “I just thought Welleon Realty was innocent. It shouldn’t become a battlefield for Aspica Capital and Rover Capital. Audrey had been way too impulsive this time.”
