Chapter 61
Chapter 61
Emma’s voice came through the phone. “Scott, Audrey said you bullied her. What’s going on?”
Scott gave her a quick explanation.
“A small company is not going to affect Millennium Realty much. It doesn’t matter if you don’t
acquire it. You’d better think of a way to cheer your sister up.”
“Yes, Mom,” said Scott.

After Millennium Realty and Welleon Realty signed the agreement, they had to complete the registration change, asset liquidation, and other procedures.
Gary had been busy dealing with all of it, trying his best to get them done.
The wedding that was set to take place a week before Christmas was going to go on as planned. All the arrangements for that could only be handled by Layla, so everybody had been very busy.
Stella was the only one who was quite free. The weather had been nice over the past two days, so
Stella had been sunbathing on the rocking chair on the balcony while reading to the baby in her
belly.
The baby was getting more active lately. She truly was eager to come into the world.
Theodore had visited Stella after she was discharged from the hospital.
Eloise had called her once as well. She knew that Stella planned to stay at the Roberts residence
until the delivery, but she didn’t say much.
Stella could tell that Eloise didn’t wish to waste her breath anymore. After all, she had repeatedly given her reminders, and there was no use in sounding like a broken record.
The day before the wedding, Stella received a call from the Somerton residence, asking her to
come over the next day.
“Mr. Warren, please tell Mrs. Somerton Senior and the others that my family has plans tomorrow, so I won’t be coming,” Stella said.
Gary and Layla had always known that the Somertons thought very little of them, but they would still prepare gifts for them every holiday in the past. They wanted to have proper manners at least.
But this time, after Aspica Capital stopped Crestline Development from acquiring Welleon Realty, and after Layla met Eloise that day, they couldn’t help but feel upset with the Somerton family.
Besides, Tristan had already asked Stella for a divorce. There was no need for her to be friendly with people who had always given her the cold shoulder. She would simply be making a fool of herself. Even if she invited them to the wedding, they would just think she was grossly
overestimating her place.

It was simply impossible for her to bring the wedding up to Tristan.
Dominic Warren, the butler, didn’t pry any further. He simply said, “Alright, I understand. Take care, Mrs. Somerton.”
“Alright, I will,” Stella replied before hanging up.
When Dominic relayed the message to Eloise, David was right next to her. His face darkened at
once.
Then, he sneered and said, “She sure likes putting on airs.”
Eloise, visibly irritated, replied, “Forget it. Just let her be.”
The weather was nice and sunny on the day of the wedding.
Several events were being held at Prestige Royale Hotel that day.
Gary and Layla’s wedding hall was on the third floor.
Stella couldn’t help but be in awe after she saw Layla in her white fitted gown. Layla had kept her figure in great shape.
She usually didn’t have makeup on, but it was clear that she had elegant features. The makeup
artist designed a look based on her features, restoring the beauty that she had always had after
the makeup.
She was truly a gorgeous woman. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have given birth to a son as handsome
as Jonathan.
“You look very beautiful today, Layla,” Stella said.
Layla couldn’t hide the joy in her eyes.
Right then, someone knocked on the door.
“Come in.”
The door opened, and in came Gary.
Standing at six feet tall, he was dressed in a sharp suit that day. Because of the stress lately, he had lost the weight that he had previously put on. His face had gotten chubbier, and he had some wrinkles, but his sharp features still retained the charm of his youth.
Stella had seen photos of her father when he was younger, and she could say without
exaggerating that he was certainly a handsome man.
Gary froze when he saw Layla.
Layla lowered her gaze, her cheeks warming.
Stella smiled and said, “Dad, stop staring at her.”
