Hayden, Justin, and Annabeth arrived at the hotel as well. Stella had invited them to the wedding.
They happened to bump into Scott and Audrey in the lobby. The two of them were there for a birthday party that day on the 16th floor, the more upscale event space.
Scott greeted Hayden briefly before he took Audrey upstairs.
After they left, the three of them took the next elevator.
Meanwhile, the Somertons and the Fultons had gathered at the Somerton residence. They had the family gathering at the Fulton residence last year, so they held it at the Somerton residence this
year.
One after another, the members of the Fulton family began arriving.
The living room on the first floor was bustling. Children’s laughter echoed through the room as the adults chatted.
By noon, everybody had arrived.
Tristan was alone when he arrived, and he went to greet each senior member of the family.
Natalia didn’t see Theodore after they sat at the dining table. “Where’s Theo?” she asked Angela.
“He said he’s attending Stella’s father’s wedding today, so he’s not coming back for lunch,” Angela replied.
The mood became awkward for a moment. It was only then that Angela realized she had said something she shouldn’t have.
Stella wasn’t there that day, but Eloise didn’t seem to mind. Angela thought her in-laws and the others already knew about the wedding, but judging by their reaction, they clearly had no clue.
Of course, Natalia noticed that something was off, and her expression tightened. She first glanced at her husband before glancing at Tristan, who looked completely indifferent. He truly didn’t care about his father-in-law’s wedding at all.
Natalia didn’t pry further. She simply said, “Oh, I see.”
The rest of them took their seats at the dining table.
The family gathering moved along pleasantly. Having a couple of people missing didn’t seem to affect that at all.
Everybody just naturally avoided bringing up the baby that Stella would be delivering soon. After all, talking about the baby meant talking about Stella, and clearly, Stella was a very sensitive topic
at the moment.

But the children had no clue what the adults were thinking. Noelle looked at Tristan and asked, ” Uncle Tristan, where’s the baby? Why don’t I see her anywhere?”
Xavier put some food on Noelle’s plate as he answered for him. “The baby’s not born yet.”
Noelle asked, “The baby isn’t born yet, so she’s still in her mom’s belly?”
“Yes, she’s still in her mom’s belly,” Xavier answered.
“Then, where’s her mother?” Noelle asked.
Silence fell across the table.
“Noelle, that’s enough,” Xavier said quickly. “You’ll meet the baby very soon. Eat first, and I’ll play with you after.”
