Chapter 63
Natalia rushed to get the situation back under control, exclaiming, “Kieran’s just joking. Don’t take
his words to heart, Tristan.”
Tristan smiled slightly and said, “I’ll be taking my leave now.”
Meanwhile, in the wedding hall, Stella and Hayden were sitting at the main table. Gary, Layla, and Jonathan only returned to their seats after they had toasted every table in the room.
It was a joyous day. Everyone was wearing bright and wide smiles.
After Stella and Annabeth had eaten their fill, they lounged in their seats and began chatting. They could also hear Jonathan and Theodore talking about work. The way they spoke to each other was as if they had found a kindred spirit.
The integration of AI into game development was extremely commonplace these days.
The game project that Theodore was working on was using similar technology, but it was far more advanced than the AI that was being used in other games.
He had already formed a partnership with a top tech company and paid them handsomely. But even after they had worked overtime for the last month, they weren’t able to deliver the results that Theodore was looking for. It had frustrated him to no end.
However, after only a short conversation with Jonathan, Theodore felt as if he had seen the light at the end of the tunnel. He decided that he would have to visit Jonathan’s company later.
Hayden had also spoken to Jonathan about investing in his company. They had already passed three rounds of internal assessments, so they should be able to sign a contract after Christmas.
Gary was over the moon as he listened to their conversation and raised his glass to Hayden.
“No need to thank me, Mr. Roberts. I didn’t do much,” Hayden said. “Rover Capital only decided to invest in Evecore Technologies because we determined that the company has a bright future ahead of it after several rounds of strict internal assessments.
“We’ll be counting on Evecore to bring in the profits for us in the future. It’ll be a mutually- beneficial arrangement.”
“You’re right! You’ll be able to mutually benefit from each other!” Gary exclaimed, laughing
heartily.
He drank heavily that day, riding the high of his good mood. He refused to listen to anyone who told him to slow down. After all, it was rare for him to have a day off.
Stella, Annabeth, Hayden, and Justin played cards all afternoon. Stella couldn’t sit down for too long, so Layla would occasionally take her place and play with them.

Gary was sleeping in the hotel room after drinking too much. Meanwhile, Jonathan and Theodore had made their way over to Evecore Technologies.
The wedding ceremony officially ended at 6:00 pm.
Gary and Layla saw the guests off one after the other.
There was going to be a fireworks show and drone performance by the lakeside that night.
Layla was worried about Stella’s condition since she was pregnant, so Annabeth said, “Don’t worry, Ms. Bastion. There are five of us with Stelle. We definitely won’t let anything happen to her. We’ll send her back home safe and sound later.”
“Don’t worry, Mom,” Jonathan chimed in. “We’ll take good care of Stelle.”
“I’ll be fine, Layla,” Stella said.
Only then did Gary and Layla let them go.
Stella and the others piled into a car and left the hotel while Gary and Layla went back inside to
settle the bill. As they walked in, they saw many other guests leaving the hotel.
