Chapter 75
The hidden hand had hired a private detective with a hefty sum to trail Tristan, but the latter was extremely cautious with his movements. The detective spent more than half a year tailing Tristan before finally confirming that he was married and even capturing his scandal on
camera.
The culprit had been thrilled at first, convinced this would destroy Tristan’s reputation. However, the direction of public opinion spiraled completely out of control and everyone’s
expectations.
By the time Aspical Capital stepped in to manage the crisis, the person had already missed the
best window for a counterattack. Fortunately, the man behind it all was now abroad.
As for the detective who was following Tristan, he had been detained at the police station. He had taken quite a number of photos of Tristan, Audrey, and even some of Stella. Clearly, the detective was rather capable in his job.
Just then, Tristan’s phone rang. It was a call from Scott, asking about the online exposé from
the night before. The scandal hadn’t affected Audrey or Tristan at all. Instead, Stella had become the main target of public condemnation.
“We’ve identified the person behind it,” Tristan said. “Tyler Meadows from Northmark
Holdings.”
Scott replied, “Good to hear that, but it seems like we can’t deny your marriage anymore.”
In truth, everything stemmed from Underdog’s initial post. It was from there that the online
backlash escalated into a full-blown war of insults, and the leaks on Stella eventually escalated beyond control.
If Aspical Capital were to announce that Tristan was unmarried now, it would only raise more
suspicion and stir up another wave of controversy.
The best response at this point was to avoid addressing Tristan’s marital status. Given enough time, the public would eventually forget. In the end, the only innocent one who had to bear
the brunt of the storm was Stella.
“If you’re worried about Audrey, you’re overthinking things,” Tristan said.
Scott let out a soft sigh and replied helplessly, “Tristan, your wife is still carrying your baby.
You don’t have to be this heartless.”
“I suppose I’m not as sentimental as you.”
Scott fell silent for a moment. “Actually, I’d much rather your relationship with Audrey be a

normal one. I don’t want her to become your mistress.”
“She’s not,” Tristan said flatly.
Once Tristan made up his mind about something, it was nearly impossible for anyone to change it.
Scott changed the subject and asked, “By the way, I’m heading back to Seaview tomorrow. How’s the matter I asked you to handle going?”
Tristan’s gaze darkened slightly as he answered, “They’re all doing fine for now. You don’t need to worry. I’ll find ways to quietly provide them with resources later on. I’ll make sure they’re taken care of.”

Scott didn’t doubt his words. “Okay. That’s all I have to hear,” he said, not asking any further.
“Don’t you want to see for yourself how they’re doing now?” Tristan asked.
“Meeting them now would only cause more trouble. It’s not the right timing yet.”
