Chapter 78
Tristan replied, “Not yet.”
Eloise said, “Your daughter’s born. Come to the hospital and see her.”
“I’ll come as soon as I finish what I’m doing.”
She was silent for a while, and he ended the call.
Beside him, Audrey said in a sulky tone, “Tris, you have to spend the night with me.”

By 7:00 pm, Stella was wheeled out of the operating room wearing an oxygen mask. Those anxiously waiting outside scurried over.
The doctor said, “She’s not in immediate danger anymore, but the mother is still weak and
needs all the rest she can.”
Knowing that Stella’s no longer in immediate danger, they all let out a collective sigh of relief.
After she was taken into her hospital room, Hayden and the others waited outside while Layla, Gary, and Jonathan went inside to listen to the doctor’s further updates.
Gary thanked the doctor, but she replied, “It’s all part of our duty.”
Once the doctor and nurses left the room, Gary and Layla thanked the ones who waited outside.
Hayden said, “As long as Stelle’s fine. That’s what matters. Let her rest for now. We’ll visit her and the baby in a couple of days.”
“Alright, sure. Thank you again for staying by Stelle’s side today.”
Hayden and Annabeth bid their farewells and left. Theodore stayed behind to talk with Jonathan briefly before taking his leave too.
The baby was moved to the radiant warmer, so Layla and Gary couldn’t see her just yet. Despite this, they were more worried about Stella than the baby..
Tristan hadn’t come the entire day.
The next day, Stella remained unconscious. The baby was moved from the warmer to a regular room right next to Stella’s. She was cared for by a dedicated maternity nurse.
Eloise, David, Yelena, and Harry came first thing in the morning to see the baby. Eloise cradled her and gently squeezed her tiny hands. “Our little Faith is so beautiful.”
The baby’s name had already been decided. Her name was Faith Somerton. She gazed up at the

Tristan arrived right then, just in time to hear the elders showering the baby with affection.
Yelena saw Tristan and said, “Tristan, you’re finally here. Come see the baby.”
He approached the baby in Eloise’s arms. She was so tiny and delicate, with big, round eyes that seemed very curious about the world.
“Your daddy’s here. Let him hold you,” Eloise said to Faith.
She then handed her to Tristan, whose hands were so stiff and awkward, as if unsure how to
hold her.
Yelena couldn’t help smiling at the sight of her son being completely unprepared. After she showed him how to hold the baby properly, he took Faith in his arms. She was so light it barely felt like he was holding anything. He looked down at her, and she met his
gaze.
Suddenly, Faith let out a chuckle. The sound drew laughter across the room.
“She knows it’s her daddy!” someone said.
Tristan’s normally cold, stern features softened at Faith’s laughter. The corner of his mouth twitched into a faint, unguarded smile.
The baby’s room was filled with joy and laughter. Next door, Stella’s room remained quiet and
solemn. She had not yet woken.
Gary and Jonathan had returned home the night before to rest. They were not back at the hospital just yet. Layla was the one who stayed by Stella’s side.
Faintly, she could hear the laughter from the neighboring room, which she found almost jarring.
Then, she noticed Stella stirring and slowly opening her eyes. Layla’s heart leaped, and she
rushed to call the doctor.
Tristan heard the call. Eloise urged, “Tristan, you should go see her too.”
The doctor examined Stella and said, “It’s good news that she’s awake now.”
Still very frail, Stella asked Layla, “Where’s my baby? I want to see her.”
Layla’s heart began to ache. Just as she was about to speak, she looked up and saw Tristan entering the room with Faith in his arms.
