Evie’s pov

Power pushes against power. Alpha against Alpha. The air between Gavin and Ryan thickens so sharply that a few of the wolves behind Ryan instinctively lower their heads and take a step back. Even Stephie and Kimberly look a

bit scared.

A gruesome fight would happen if I don’t stop them.

I step forward between them and utter. “Enough.”

Both Alphas go still.

Ryan’s eyes snap to mine again, drowning in my gaze. There it is……that flicker. That little tug. That confusion that keeps haunting his expression whenever I speak, whenever he rests his eyes upon me.

Did he really not know who I am? I have not changed much, appearance wise. Sure, I have more hips and breasts but that was about it.

Gavin glances at me, jaw tight with tension. I give him the a firm nod, reassuring him that I’ve got this.

I turn my full attention back to Ryan. “We were invited here to help your pack,” I say coldly. “If this is how you act, then perhaps we should turn around and report to the council that Silver Blood has forgotten basic respect.’

The wolves around gasp and Ryan’s brow raised. Not in anger but surprise that I was bold enough to speak. “Your head warrior is bold,” the corner of his lips twitch as he reluctantly flicker his gaze away and peer at Gavin. “I’ll give her that.”

My heart flutters in my chest despite trying my best to not be affected by his close proximity.

“Ryan,” Kimberly tries to garner his attention but instead of looking at her, his eyes return to mine. He tilts his head slightly, his brows pulling together.

“Your scent….it’s fam-

“They must be exhausted. Why don’t we show everyone to their assigned rooms so we all can rest?” Stephie suddenly speaks up and cuts into Ryan’s words. “I’m sure it’s been a long drive and everyone wants to get cleaned. up?”

Kimberly steps closer to him now, pressing her body against his side. My heart on its own, clenches. “Ryan,” she says more firmly, slipping her hand into his.”Your mother is right. Let them settle in.”

Ryan still stares at me for a few seconds before nodding stiffly. “Yes. Get them to the west wing.”

Ah away from the pack members. He was keeping us separated from his pack. Smart.

Gavin gives a stiff nod. “We appreciate the accommodation.”

Stephie gestures to a few warriors to come forward to help. “Escort them to their assigned rooms.”

Kimberly tugs at Ryan’s arm, as if telling him to follow her. He reluctantly turns around with her by his side. My throat throbs and I swallow.

Before I could think, I speak. “Kimberly.”

She stiffens. He does too. Everyone stops and the air grows thick with tension.

I had not acknowledged her as a Luna. A mistake that should be punishable. But I dare them to lay a finger on me.

She turns around, her pretty eyes casting on mine the same way they did years ago. With hatred and jealousy.

We weren’t identical twins. But hell we were still sisters. We shared the same womb.

But now, we were nothing but strangers.

“It’s good to see you after years,” I let the smirk I had been holding back grace my face as I uttered that one word. ” Sister.”

A sharp inhale ripples through the wolves closest to us and Kimberly’s face drains of color for just a few moments before she composes herself. Stephie looks like she had seen a ghost, her eyes darting to Ryan who upon hearing my words, slowly turns around.

“Sister?” Ryan’s eyes move from her to me and then back to her. His confusion deepens as his brows furrow.

But his confusion is no greater than mine. Did he really not remember me at all?

Kimberly face paints with fury and Stephie looks like she was about to murder me right where I stand. “You will regard me as Luna! Have respect for your superiors!”

The corner of my lips tugs as I tilt my head, mocking her.” Superior? A Luna who let her pack get demolished is no different than a weak omega.”

Shocked gasped brushes through the air and Kimberly look even more enraged as she takes a step forward but before she could come towards me, a hand stops her. Ryan.

His gaze drifts back to me, eyes pinning me down. Studying me intensely as if I were a puzzle he was trying his hardest to piece together.

Strange,

“You never mentioned having a sister,” he says to Kimberly. His words hit my chest hard, like a powerful blow.

Ouch,

My brows draw together and I can feel Gavin looking at me just as confused. My ex mate didn’t recognize me……

My heart throbs and Serena stirs uneasily. ‘Something is wrong. Why doesn’t he remember us?’
