Evie’s pov

Ryan looks at me, then to the girl before letting out a breath and turns around to head in the direction of the infirmary. Stephie follows behind him close but not before giving me a hard glare

Kimberly on the other hand struts forward and Gavin steps before me protectively Kimberly’s eyes narrowed. “I want to speak to my sister,” she demands

Gavin’s brow raised and his arms crosses over his broad chest “Now you regard her as your sister after calling her a coward and a nobody?”

Kimberly’s jaw tightens, but she doesn’t look at Gavin for long, her eyes stray to me. The look was like ice, freezing and cold.

“I want to speak to her alone,” she strained with anger. “Away from you dogs.”

I raised a brow, unimpressed by her insults. Gavin and the others aren’t too. Gavin lets out a humorless breath ” That’s not happening.”

A few of our warriors subtly shift closer and that alone causes Silver Blood wolves to tense in response. The air threatens to tense once again but I step around Gavin before it escalates.

“It’s fine,” I say calmly. “I’ll speak to her.”

Gavin looks at me sharply, eyes telling me that he did not trust her. I didn’t too but it’s not like she can ever hurt me again. I was no longer the sister she could push around. “Evie-

“I can handle her.” I say to him and Gavin stares at me for a little, seeming to be contemplating before he gives a stiff nod. He looks at our warriors. “Let’s head inside and leave them to privately speak.”

Our warriors hesitate before trusting our alpha Gavin into the house with the silver blood warriors until it was just me and Kimberly outside. Two sisters that stood where we used to play before our mother corrupted her into thinking I was a nobody and should be treated as such.

“Your father in law is dying,” I raised a brow and folded my arms over my chest. “Aren’t you supposed to be by his side with your mate?” I mocked, causing her to tense and become upset.

“I don’t give a fuck about that old fool,” she sneers low and takes a menacing step forward. I don’t back down. I barely even blink. She was not as intimidating as she once was when I was here.

“What I give a fuck about is you coming here and stirring trouble,” she snapped, eyes flashing.” You should’ve stayed gone!”

I let out a humorless laugh. “Trust me Kimberly, I didn’t want to be back here either. This wasn’t my doing, this was the doing of your pack being…” I step forward then, my eyes hard. “Weak.”

Her face darkens instantly and a low growl vibrates in her chest. “Careful Evie,” she warns.

“Or what?” I challenged in a serious tone, “You’ll risk ruining your freshly painted nails to hurt little old me?”

Her hand twitches at her side, her eyes reflecting the fury in them. “You think you’re stronger now Evie?” she spits. “Because you have a little title? Because you stand beside an Alpha?”

I raise a brow. “You’re wrong there Kimberly, I don’t think it,” I reply calmly and take another step forward until we are almost nose to nose. “I know it.”

Her jaw tensed and she grits her teeth as she sneers. “You’re not supposed to talk to a Luna like that.” “Luna?” I smirk coldly. “I just see a girl pretending to be something she’s not ”

Her breath hitches and her eyes open with surprise. She hadn’t expected me to reply or be as mean as I am. I don’t care anymore. The stench of her wolf, even though she was Luna, was no match for me

For a second I see it flash beneath the shadows of her eyes. Fear. But just as fast as it slipped, it gets buried and hidden just as quickly. “You’ve gotten brave,” she sneers, her breath reeking of fury.” But you’re still the same fucking loser Ryan didn’t choose.”

Her words would’ve hurt the old Evie. And perhaps it did a little, just a tad bit, but it didn’t land enough weight to cause any damage.

Instead I snort.” And look at what that got him…..a weak fucking Luna and half a pack. Seems to me you were his downfall.”

My words hit deep.

Her hand moves so fast I almost don’t see it but I catch her wrist mid air before her palm can strike my face. My fingers wrap around her skin, her hands tremble. “How dare you!” She snarls, her wolf flicking behind her eyes. Cute. A puppy wants to play.

I tightened my grip and Serena stirs. ‘Just say the word and we can have this bitch on her knees begging for mercy,

“You don’t get to do that anymore,” I say calmly. My calm tone makes her restless. “You touch me again and I will break all those pretty fingers before any of your pack members get here.”

Her eyes narrowed. “Are you threatening your Luna?”

1 snorted with a raised brow. “My Luna?” I taunt. “You must be mistaken. I don’t answer to anyone else except Alpha Gavin.”

Her jaw pops as she seethes silently. “You’re in my territory. Under our rules.”

I rolled my eyes. ” Save it bitch. If you have a problem with it, then you should go to the council about it. But I don’t think they’d do anything considering that you need my help.”

Her canines extend from her gums as he lips peel back. Her wolf presses closer and Serena purrs. ‘Ooo she wants to test us. How fun.’

Serena presses harder and my claws push out of my fingertips. Kimberly freezes, her eyes dropping to the arm 1 hold, claws digging into her skin until I feel the warmth of her blood. She gasped. Not in pain. But in shock.

“You-you have a wolf,” her eyes are wide in disbelief and I nearly laugh before releasing her with a slight push.

She stumbles a step and clutches her wrist, looking at the blood on her skin in surprise. She never thought I’d challenge a Luna. She never thought I’d draw some blood.
