I slapped her hand away, my jaw popping as I glared at her. Her face flushed with humiliation. “And here I thought you had a problem. Only that you didn’t have an issue at all. You just only get hard for whores.”

I grab her wrist. “Watch your words.” I snarl under my breath, my wolf getting riled up. I am stunned to feel how much fury he was feeling now that Kimberly insulted the woman.

Her eyes widen. “Are you seriously going to defend her? A woman you can’t even remember?”

I drop her hand and run my fingers through my hair in frustration. I had no time for this back and forth. My head…..

Goddess it hurt.

“I need rest. Please get out,” I tell her as I turn around. My head was pounding and the scent of vanilla bean and warm honey suffocates me. Apex doesn’t make it easier seeing as he stirs restlessly.

“My own husband, alpha gets soft because I touched him,” she laughs cruelly. “How are we going to give you an heir if you can’t get your cock hard for your Luna!”

I whip around to glare at her as I snapped. “Get out!” Apex comes to the surface and our canines pushes out of my gums. Kimberly sees the flash of my wolf and she backs away.

“Fine,” she gives up, her voice dripping with resentment as she backs toward the door. “But this conversation is far from over Ryan.”

Her hand wraps around the handle and she pauses, throwing one last poisonous glare at me.”You can pretend all you want,” she sneers bitterly. “But I saw your face out there. I saw the way you looked at her.”

I say nothing and my silence only fuels her anger. “Whatever this is you think you feel,” she continues coldly. “It will end badly for her. Because I promise you one thing-

My eyes snap up, my wolf stirring dangerously as we pick up the threat in her tone. “If she tries to take what’s mine,” Kimberly finishes, her lips curling into a sneer. “I will destroy her and make you watch.”

A low growl rumbles from my chest before I can stop it. Kimberly stiffens, clearly hearing the threat behind the sudden growl. She looks flushed with anger before she straightens herself and forces the hurt out of her expression.

“Rest well Ryan.” She grumbles, opens the door and steps out of the room. When the door clicks shut behind her, I let out a frustrated snarl.

If she had noticed how I stared at the woman….who else did too?

I can’t focus on that now, especially not when my head throbs get worse. I stagger to my bed, hissing as I rub my temples.

The moment that woman set foot here, my mind had gotten restless. What was she to me? Obviously for her to cause such a stir in my being, even though I don’t remember her….she wasn’t just an ordinary woman. She had meant something to me before my memories were wiped out.

And I was going to find out.

I stare at Ryker’s sleeping form, brushing any fingers down his face when the door suddenly slams open. Kimberly, Ryan’s mate and the now Luna of this pack, storms inside.

The frustration that rolls off her is suffocating and heavy.

“She’s already ruining everything!” Was the first thing she snapped into the air. “And she just got here!”

Her sudden outburst had Ryker stir but thankfully he didn’t wake up. I turn to her slowly and watch her pace the

floor.

She was seething, her face flushed with anger. I had never seen her this furious before.

“What happened?” I asked even though I knew her anger was because of that girl. Evie. She’s back and the words of the witch echo in my head.

Once Ryan lays eyes on her, the memories that are locked up will slowly start to release.

We had to do something before he remembers everything. I couldn’t afford to have my son loathe me for what we had done to him. If he knows what we did…..

My chest tightens painfully at the very thought of him finding out everything. I force the thought away before it can fully form and cause havoc in my head. No. I can’t let it happen.

“She’s already getting under his skin, Stephie” she snaps. “I saw the way he looked at her. I wouldn’t be surprised if the others noticed as well.”

I breathe in slowly as I try to steady the unease crawling through my chest. Of course he did. The witch had warned us this might happen.
