Evie’s pov

I moved back instantly and just barely avoided the strike as her claws grazed my shoulder, tearing through fabric and skin. A sharp sting followed but I ignored it. I’ve felt worse. This was nothing.

Serena surged forward. ‘Finally we can play,’

I caught Kimberly’s wrist mid-swing and twisted hard; the wrist of her bone nearly broke. She hissed, trying to knee me in the stomach, however I blocked it skillfully before she could land it. I slammed her backward into the counter and the impact rattled the cabinets.

Hannah looks at me in surprise but chooses not to intervene. Margaret stumbled away, coughing violently as she clutched her throat. ” Stop it,” she coughs.

“You stupid bitch!” Kimberly roared, shifting partially as her eyes glow and her canines pushed out of her gums.” You’ve gone too far!”

I smirked. “Have I?”

She came at me again, her stance wild now with no strategy but just rage. Big mistake. I sidestepped her, grabbed her arm and used her very own momentum to throw her across the kitchen. She crashed into the table, splintering wood beneath her weight.

She barely stayed down for a second before pushing up again, panting, her eyes blazing with humiliation and fury. “You think you’re stronger than me?” she spat. “I am a Luna! You’re nothing!”

I didn’t answer, I don’t think I needed to. I stepped forward slowly and let my wolf power radiate through just enough for her to feel it. The pressure in the room shifted instantly as the air grew heavier.

Kimberly faltered a little but I saw it. Her wolf felt mine. Recognized it and feared it.

“That’s not possible…” she whispered in disbelief, more to herself than to me.

I tilted my head, voice calm and bored. “You should have stayed out of my way.”

Her snarl returns louder now, almost desperate. “I am the Luna!”

I moved too fast for her to finish as my hand wrapped around her throat this time, slamming her back against the wall with enough force to break the concrete behind her.

Shocked gasp from Hannah and Margaret fills the air. Their precious Luna, the supposedly strongest female in this pack was getting beaten by a head warrior. I barely even tried.

Her hands clawed at my wrist but it didn’t matter; she wouldn’t get free of my hold. Not even if Hannah or Margaret intervened.

“Say it again,” I murmured, leaning in slightly as I mock her. “Go on. Tell me you’re my Luna.”

Her lips parted but no words came out. Only a strained, breathless sound as my grip tightened just enough to remind her that I had the upper hand.

Hannah was panicking now, unsure if to fight me to save her master or not, while Margaret looked like she was about to faint from having my hand around her neck only a few seconds ago.

But I didn’t pay attention to them, I only cast my gaze on Kimberly. Loving how the realization sink into her soul as fear replaces the arrogance she once had.

I loosened my grip a tad bit for her to understand that I was the one in control here and not her. “You don’t command me,” I grit through clenched teeth. “You don’t control me,” I leaned closer, my voice dropping into something icy and final. “And you definitely don’t threaten me.”

Kimberly’s breath hitched as my words sank in and for the first time since I’ve known her, she looked beaten and unsure of herself. She looks battered.

Her fingers tightened weakly around my wrist, nails barely scraping my skin now instead of digging in with the confidence she once had. Her wolf had gone quiet, no longer pushing forward, no longer snapping to fight me off.
