I’m not feeling as confident about this as I want to feel. These demons are doing this for a reason. I have no clue what it is, but there has to be a reason.
Suddenly they’re here, in the middle of nowhere Montana where the amount of people who’s blood they can drain for survival is next to nothing.
They’re supposed to stay in their country, Transylvania or whatever the hell it’s called. I’ve never heard of them being on this continent let alone here! If they need human blood to survive they should be in a place like New York or Los Angeles.
On top of that, the way they victimized those girls and then told them to come back home. It’s like they wanted to make us aware of their presence and they wanted us either scared or angry.
They know something we don’t, and I feel very uncomfortable by this. To try to utilize every
potential angle we can, I sent a couple guys down to see if Belladonna and the other witches have
any insight on this.
I’m so desperate here, I even sent a couple guys down to Belladonna’s mother’s house to see if
they could spot anything that might be vampire related. I sent one of my big reading guys since
he’s able to read a few languages. I remember some of her stuff wasn’t in anything I could read.
I know Freya knows something is wrong, but I have no intentions of telling her how off this whole
thing feels. It’s bad enough I plan to keep her as far away from this attack on them as possible.
When she finds that out it’s going to be a battle with her.
Overprotective? Umm, yeah. Very much so. I lost her once, I’m not about to do that s**t again.
In the meantime, I’ve read every book I have. Then I read them all again. I feel like I’m walking my
pack into a losing battle that I can’t prepare them for. I just wish there was some way that I could figure out why they’re here. Why Big Sky?
There’s no history that we have documented with them here, there’s nothing we have for anything
with them other than the basics.
Freya and I are taking the kids to go play in the water today. She seems to think it will be good for me to do something as a family and not as an Alpha. Sounds good, but I’m not sure if it will have
the effect she wants.
Either way, I’m doing it.
On the way to the waterfalls I held Hunter, he’s got Freya’s shining green eyes and my dark hair.
Little man is handsome for sure!

He was so fascinated by the trees and the sky above us. He just kept pointing at them, the sky lighting up his already bright eyes. As I looked into them, I found myself hoping that the things he will see in life doesn’t take away that natural shimmer.
Eyes are the window to one’s soul, and I haven’t met an alpha yet who didn’t have that dull look in their eyes that only the horrors of life as an alpha can cause.
I looked over at Freya, holding Kira. I hope the things that Kira goes through in this life don’t turn her to stone. She’s already so bubbly, so curious and smart. Thinking of what she might go through in life terrifies me. My poor wife, when we met she had no idea what real pain was. Now, she’s been kidnapped, poisoned, killed, and infected by rogues.
Being mated to an alpha isn’t exactly the hope every alpha has when he has a daughter. Knowing she will be mated to one haunts my dreams sometimes. I know alphas. Some are cruel and violent with their Luna, some are just playboys that think because they could have anyone in their pack that they should have them all and barely pay mind to their Luna, and others are just so damn power hungry they do stupid s**t like I did or worse to their Luna.
I can only pray I raise a good alpha, and that whatever alpha is raising her husband raises a good
one.
I was so lost in my thoughts I didn’t raise we came up to the waterfalls until Freya’s face turned from happy to horrified. I looked ahead of us and saw what had her turning Kira away from the
water.
There was a body floating in the water, it kept hitting the rocks along the bank from the waterfall. I linked Levi, who said he was on the way. Then I handed Hunter to Freya and told her to wait to head home until someone could go with her.
She laid out a blanket by the trees, where I could still see her, and say the babies down and played
with them.
I walked over to the bank and began investigating. There were drag marks, brown bush branches. Pretty much what you’d expect to find if someone was dragging a body, except for the blood.
I made my way down the steep rocky bank to where the body was hitting the rocks. I don’t want to get in the water, so I went this way instead.
I could tell immediately it wasn’t a Big Sky member. There’s no tattoos, they’re wearing clothes you’d never see anyone here wear, and they’re not muscular enough to be one of Damon’s men.
When I got to the body it was face down, I turned the body over and realized I don’t know this face.
I wonder if he’s one of them.
Levi just got here with four men, they went down and carefully pulled the body from the water and laid it on a blanket. Sasha came walking up about that point, she began examining the body.

“Not wolf.” She said.
“That’s good.” I responded, “Is it a vamp?” I asked, maybe a little too hopeful.
She opened the mouth, “Human.” She answered.

Well, that’s not good. Based on the clothing I would expect he’s probably from one of the bigger
towns, maybe Kalispel.
“I can tell you one thing for certain, Alpha.” She said as she stood up. “Three banks were using him for food. The wound on his neck is both new and old, they were continuously feeding on him. I bet
he had no blood left.” She said.
Yeah, I’m sure the sheriff is going to really enjoy getting a bloodless body from us that we found
around our territory.
