COLT POV
“Thank you for letting us stay here.” The sheriff said as I walked the three of them to a hut.
“You’re welcome.” I replied.
I got River’s brother calmed down, Levi walked with him back home. I offered to get the body moved into our territory and still have guards around it to ensure the safety.
“I’m sorry to pry, but you must have known him?” I asked.
“Yeah, young boy. Good kid, dad died when he was young so he’s been alone with his mind the past
ten years and all she’s had. He didn’t come home from his first job one night about a month ago.
She’s been devastated.” He painfully sighed, “Now I have to tell her this.”
I really did feel for him. “Small town? Y’all know each other?” I asked, it sounds a lot like the pack.
He nodded, “I’ve known everyone in that town either all my life or all theirs.” He paused for a
moment. “His father was my best friend.”
That’s painful, that would be like Levi’s family. I feel for this man, it’s really a horrible situation. Though, I can’t really imagine a scenario in which any of this would be anything but horrible.
After I made sure they were able to get settled in their hut I thought about Freya. I left things on such s***y terms with her. I started walking back to the pack house when I got a link from Levi.
“Hey Alpha, you seen Freya? She said she was going to come back here a couple hours ago I guess but she’s not back yet and it’s dark.”
“Where did she go?” I asked, immediately fearing the worst.
“Jessi said she went to go find you, but that was hours ago and I don’t remember seeing her.” He
said.
I tried linking her, “Freya, where are you?”
I didn’t get anything back.
“Freya are you okay?” I’m beginning to panic.
“Freya please! Are you safe?” Still nothing.
I got back to the house and was met by Levi.
“Alpha I’ve asked that the pack gets asked. Jessi said she was upset this morning and after a while
she went to try to find you to talk, said she’d be back in a couple hours at the latest.” He said.
“Did she say where she would go to find me?” I asked.

After a second he said, “A guard saw her heading toward the waterfalls while we were down there,
he hasn’t seen her come back.”
She never made it there, and we walked the trail back, I didn’t see her.
“Send for a few warriors, we are going to the waterfalls.” I told to Levi.
I went upstairs to Jessi and the kids. I scooped my kids up and gave them a kiss.
“I’m going to look for her, if you need help let me know.” I said to her.
“Alpha, it’s about bedtime for them. We will be fine. I’ve got a bed set up for Jaxson. Just find my
friend.” She said.
I nodded and turned to leave. Heading down to the trail we were met with Alpha Damon and a few
of his men as well as a few of mine.
“Just in case.” He said, nodding his head to me and then we began walking.
It was daylight when we were there and only just getting later when we got back so I don’t think it
could be vampires. Then again, I don’t really know why else she’d just disappear like that.
It’s about three or four miles from our territory to the waterfalls, we usually walk that in twenty
minutes or so. I hate thinking the worst but I am in fact thinking it.
Some how, those bastards got her.
I was looking at everything, smelling for her. Her scent is strong so she was here today. Suddenly,
there was another scent. It wasn’t of our pack or the officers we walked through here today.
This was metal and roses. We don’t have any roses in this area. I had a very uneasy feeling about
this.
“Alpha.” I heard Levi say.
Before I could even respond to him I felt this very weird, very calming feeling like every worry, every
concern was just okay now.
“Go back home.” I heard a woman’s voice say.
Everyone was just staring blankly. They all turned and began walking back without another word.
Somehow I knew she didn’t mean me.
“Come with me.” She said, and nothing about that seemed off to me. I wanted to go with her, I felt like she was a warm light that made everything okay.
I knew where she was even though I couldn’t see her. Once everyone was gone she stepped out from behind a tree.

Incredibly beautiful woman. Caramel skin that glows in the night, dark red lips that you could see in the dark of the night jeans and a dark colored shit that showed her ravishing curves and left itle
to the imagination.
I followed her, she didn’t have to say anything further I wanted to go with her. I wasn’t even paying
attention to where we were going, all could see was her.
After who knows how long, a familiar scent hit me. Freya. I remembered Reya. Iremembered! was looking for her, I remembered the men walking pack looked around, we weren’t outside anymore. We were in a cave, tunnels in a cave to be exact.
She hasn’t turned to look at me, I was still following her. I decided I’d see where she took ME,
maybe I’d see Freya.
She started walking up a ladder, Freya’s scent was strong here. I followed suit, I imagine that’s
what I’d do if I were still tranced.
She popped open a door above her and crawled out. She left the door open so I went up with her.
She closed the door and looked at me.
“How long have you been awake, Colt?” She asked ke she’s known me or something.
“It’s Alpha Colt, and not long. Where’s my mate?” I growled at her.
“Bad boy, Colt. We don’t growl at our masters.” She said, like I was a pet dog.
“Where’s my mate?” I asked once more.
“Tsk tsk tsk” she said as she walked over to a chair and sat down. She kicked her legs up on a table
sitting in front of the chair,
This vile disgusting being is treating me like a common house dog, the disrespect is on purpose.
“Now Colt, I’ve had her for a few hours now. I’ve gotten to have some great fun with her. She is still
under my control, and I’ve got to say I understand why you kept her.” She winked at me as she
picked up a glass of what I can only assume is blood based on the smell.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
She laughed maniacally, “she tastes delicious.”
She can’t drink her blood so I know that’s not what she’s talking about. Then I got it.
“She’d never let you touch her!” I growled.
