Yes! I made it! I excitedly looked around for the goddess. I went to, what I assume is, her favorite

spot. It always seems to be where she meets up with me, shows up, or takes us to. The lake. It’s

always night, with a large full moon right over the water. I guess that’s probably because she is the

Moon Goddess.

“Hello my child.” I heard her beautiful voice behind me while I was admiring the moon.

“Moon Goddess!” I said very happy to see her. The amount of questions I have for you is outrageous and I doubt we’re going to get to them all.” I said instantly.

She laughed, “I know. To help, I’m not going to make you ask. I will just start telling you.” She began stepping into the lake, I don’t think she’s done that before with me. We walked along the shore of the lake with the moon over us, it felt like something straight out of a movie.

“Yes, there’s bear shifters. Yes, there’s many other species of shifters that none of you know about. No, there’s nothing about them that you really need to be fully aware of like with vampires. They’re not toxic to you, there’s no huge feud between bears and wolves or really anything with wolves in

general other than vampires. That was just an error that I couldn’t correct so I’m sorry about that one.” She smiled as she just kept spilling everything out.

“The moon curse is only breakable by the blood sacrifice of the direct descendants of the original

wolves. I tied the moon to the wolves because at the time I created vampires I had not made

witches yet and I needed something to keep the vampires from killing the whole planet. So, I

bound them to the moon and made the sun deadly. She looked at me and saw the worried look on

my face.

“Oh don’t worry child, you and Colt are not the only direct descendants. Though, it would seem you

are the ones most know about given that you’re in the Big Sky pack.” She patted my shoulders.

“Before your time with me is up there is something I need to tell you about your powers. As I

mentioned, you’re tied to the moon. If you use your abilities at night they’re going to be slightly stronger. Now, if you use them during a full moon you wont have to channel so much to try to use

them and it wont take as much energy. Your daughter is going to be blessed with these abilities and I need for her to be able to use them once she gets her wolf because she will be mated to a powerful alpha and she will be needing to use them to protect the species. Much like you.”

I began to feel her fade, there’s so much more I need to know. Especially now that she just told me this about Kira! “No!” I hollered. “I need to know more!” I said.

I could barely make out what she said, but I think she was telling me to trust my instincts.

7 f*****g knew it!” I jumped up and yelled as soon as I was back with Colt and my dad. I looked at

Colt and my mom who turned suddenly to me. My dad jumped back, clearly I startled him too.

“She said there are shifters of many species that we’re not aware of, and bears are one of them.

She said that they’re not toxic to us or anything like that though. Vamps were only toxic because

she made a mistake that she couldn’t fix.” I felt like was rambling but I couldn’t stop. I just spilled

everything she said, including the stuff about Kira. By the look on Colt’s face, he was as concerned

about that as I was.

“Kira is going to have to deal with saving the species too?” he asked, the flooding of emotion in his

voice melted my heart.

“She said that she needed me to be able to teach her, and to trust my instincts. She’s not going to

be mated to the alpha of this pack though, that’s pretty clear. So we just need to keep our eyes out

for a powerful alpha once she gets to be about that age. We will be able to figure things out as we

need to.” I told him, placing my hands on his arms.

Trying to calm him felt weird, it’s usually him trying to calm me. Though the idea of her having to use her powers to save the species, I do understand that the goddess has a favor towards her and

I don’t think that would be the case if she didn’t think Kira could handle this. Therefore, I just need

to trust her and become an expert in my abilities so I can teach her to be an expert in them too.

My parents went back to their hut, Colt and I went back to our home with the kids. He scooped Kira up in his arms and hugged on her. While we sat there rocking the kids to sleep he couldn’t take his eyes off of her.

“I’m going to begin teaching her combat as soon as I can, and once I think she can handle it I will make sure she can handle the rough and unexpected. I will teach her the things I teach Hunter about being an alpha. I will teach her…” He began to tell me, but I stopped him.

“Colt, we will prepare her for everything we possibly can. She’ll be ready, and whatever it is that she has to face I hope that we’re able to be there with her like my parents have been for us.” I said just

trying to help him remain calm about this and not over think it, especially now when there is nothing we can do to help teach her anything other than speaking and walking without stumbling.

“She’s just a baby right now, there’s nothing we can prepare her for now. The only thing we can do now is just make sure we get to be around to teach her the things she needs to know.” I whispered as I began to stand to put Hunter in his bed.

“We also can’t forget about Hunter, he’s going to be a powerful alpha too. If we prepare them both,

then they can handle it all together. We will make an alliance out of her marriage to the alpha of

whatever pack that is and we will bring them up to be close to each other and handle everything

together.” I knelt down beside him as he kept rocking her. He finally looked to me.

“We’re stronger together in this family, remember that.” I said. I stood and kissed him and left him to rock her just a little longer.
