COLT POV

I watched as the pack got ready. Training, sharpening swords, and readying the main area we want
to lure them into for the battle ground.
We’ve decided that since our human forms do well in the trees, we might be able to use that to our advantage. Though they also have human form were hoping that they’re mostly going to be in their stronger bear form. We’re prepared for them to also use their human forms though, as we do have archers that will be in the trees looking for them to shift.
Remembering how the attack was on Josh, I can honestly say I’m incredibly happy that Freya and Harland are going to be placing that shield around the pack. I would hate for this to happen to anyone else. I am also hoping that will minimize our death toll in this battle.
My ultimate hope is that we can get through this with minimal death on both sides and come to
some sort of agreement.
Eunice reminded me after we parted from the conference room that he did say they were going to
choose to fight but not to worry about it. I am hoping that means we will either win this battle
without a ton of blood shed from our pack or that we will end up with some kind of agreement to
help protect our packs.
Late evening began rolling around and I’ve instructed those who will be fighting tomorrow to get
rest for we will be waking well before dawn and placing ourselves in our battle stations. I learned
from the last bear we fought that they’re fully able to blend into the night and some how be as
quiet as a feather hitting the ground even though they’re basically giants.
I decided that since our children are down the mountain and hopefully in a hotel for the night with
their grandma and Aunt Jessi that I was going to retire to my room with my wife and see if I might
be able to rest a little before battle.
We had a large dinner to help with our energy for the upcoming battle and now the only thing I can advise any of my men, and will hopefully be able to convince myself, is that rest is the only other thing neededo before a battle like this.
Freya appeared to have other plans though. When I walked into our room it was dimly lit and she was just walking out of the bathroom. She had nothing on and had just gotten out of the shower. Once she saw me she tussled her wet curly hair and seductively walked over to the bed.
“Howdy there my Alpha.” She said, tone dripping with desire.
That is all it took for me to reciprocate the need for her. I began to strip down as I made my way to
the bed.

“No rest for the wicked, I guess?” I asked as I met her at the foot of the bed and wrapped my arms
around her naked waist.
“You can rest when we win.” She responded as she kissed me, lightly biting my lip. She broke the kiss and turned to the bed, bending over and looking back toward me. Tonight was going to be a long night, and I don’t think I see rest in my near future.
Once we both had our fill of each other to last until the battle was over, it was about time that we began getting ready to head down to the battle grounds.
We needed to be in an area with trees, nothing open. We need to be able to jump down on them. Freya came up with the idea of being right at the entrance of our pack territory. The most treed
area there is.
Our best bet is to circle them and then attack. Get them focused on one of us, maybe two of us at
a time. Maybe have six or seven of us around each bear. They may be strong but we have
numbers. We’ve taken down mountain lions on several occasions. I think it should be fairly easy for
us to handle bears if we work smart and use our numbers to our advantage.
We split into groups of six to eight. This gave us about forty groups of wolves.
“Remember guys, if we need to shift to maximize our abilities to handle the bears then shift! If staying in human mode is better for your position, then you stay in human form!” Colt linked the pack. We’re all in position, keeping quiet until we get a glimpse of them.
Colt reminded everyone that the bear they fought was able to blend and stay quiet to where none
of them knew the bear was anywhere around them, that was until they noticed and Josh was
greatly harmed, almost killed.
It took over an hour before anyone had any signs of them. Ash’s group was the first. I linked him to
stay where they’re at, we need eyes on more than one before we begin anything and then we will
get shielded.
I have Harland on one side of the pack and Freya on the other side of the pack. Freya I have with
me because I want her to think she’s safe and that I trust her but I don’t want her to be out of my
sight. I need to be able to protect her if she needs it
They seem to be piling in now, and so far none of them have detected any of our wolves. They’re
all positioned almost exactly where we were wanting them. I gave instruction to Freya and Harland
to put their shields up now that it seems that all the bears are in view of the pack.
Shield is up and the pack is ready.
I link the pack, “Shielded. Attack in 3, 2, 1.” And we all began jumping out of the trees except for the ones we’ve designated archers. Instantly the bears began getting defensive. Swatting the air at us, growling and huffing. Doing a yawning motion to show off their teeth.

The bear we have is a large grizzly just like the bear that we killed before. We’re all shifted, except
for our archer that is up in the tree. Freya lunged in and dipped back out, trying to coax the bear
into coming after her. It worked. Next was my turn. Then the wolf behind the bear, and then the
other.
We kept going in a circle until the bear was basically doing donuts in place. Then we stopped. The
bear faced the wolves opposite of us. I jumped onto the bear’s back and Freya began nipping at
his legs. He lifted up to his hind legs and gave Freya the ability to bite the sensitive parts of his
legs. I began ripping at his ears and the back of his neck.
He dropped back to all fours. Still growling and swinging those giant claws at the two wolves in
front of him. The other wolf in our group joined Freya, biting on his legs and butt area. The bear
made contact with one of the wolves on the ground, but the claws didn’t hurt him. The shield was
working.
