FREYA POV
“Vampires? You’re f*****g kidding me.” He looks to Colt like he’s being ridiculous.
“No dad he’s not. This isn’t the first issue we’ve had with them.” I said.

I looked to Colt, it’s night so there’s no sun we can use to our advantage, we don’t have weapons to
take their heads off, but I looked down to my hands and shifted it to a claw.
“No Freya. You’re not doing that.” Colt said looking at me with hope that I’ll listen.
I stepped toward the door, making sure both hands are shifted and my mouth is too. “Those are
our children, Colt.” I looked at him, I could tell my eyes were glowing, “No Mercy.” I said then I
walked into the room.
Instantly, I was greeted by a vamp. Disgusting creature. There were two Crow laying on the bed,
I’m pretty sure dead from their body being sucked dry.
I snapped my jaw at him and scratched at him with my claws. He barely jumped back in time to
not have my claws rip at his throat. I stepped forward, inching closer and closer slashing and slashing. The blood spraying everywhere until his head was off his shoulders. I turned to face the next but Colt, Levi, and my father were already in here taking care of the rest of them.
I smiled, then I saw them sitting in the cage with blank stares on their faces.
I walked over to the cage and ripped it open. I picked up Hunter and Kira expecting to get some sort of reaction. There was nothing. They just sat there, staring like I wasn’t even there. I looked over to my mom and Jessi, even though my dad and Levi were in their faces trying to get them to speak, look at them, or anything they weren’t moving.
I remember this. “They’re in a trance. The one that made them this way must still be alive.” I said.
“If I remember correctly River and her friends said that their trance broke suddenly when they got far enough away from the vamps snapping them back into reality. I think we need to work on getting them far away from this place.” Colt said exactly what I was thinking.
They damaged all of our cars, we’re not going to be able to get them to shift to get out of here, so I
linked Ash and Brett. “Find their cars. We need to get them out of here as soon as possible.
They’ve been tranced by a vampire.”
It took us a bit to get them all out of the cage, out of the room, up the stairs and out of the house. We were greeted by the pack and the bears. I looked to Sky and I smiled.
“Sky, you and your fellow bears have helped us save our family and I will never be able to repay you for this, but I plan to try. Thank you so much.” You nod your head to her. You wanted to hug her, but

you’re carrying Kira. Colt is holding both Hunter and Jaxson while my dad is holding my mom and
Levi is holding Jessi. Ash runs up to help us so we can get them to the cars.
“We found two cars. It should be enough to get you all back to the pack. The rest of us will get
home a little slower.” He said. I thanked him and got in the car with all of the kids. There’s no safety
seats so I’m sitting in the back holding Hunter and Kira while Colt drives. In the other car, my dad is
driving while Levi holds Jaxson and Jessi and my mom are in the back seat.
We make our way out of there, hoping that we’re right and this trance will end once we’re far enough away.
“Colt…” I said, concern flooding the sound of my voice.
“I know, Freya. I’m worried about the same thing.” He said, looking in the rear–view mirror back to
Where the hell is the other vamp that must still be alive? There must be at least one more because
they’re still in trance. Suddenly we begin getting a link from Ash, Colt hits the brakes bringing us to a stop, my dad doing the same thing behind us.
“Alpha, the vamps. They’re back! They have two people we’ve never seen before. They smell like
wolves, but they’re not from any pack that we’ve heard of. We’re hidden right now, they can’t see us
but they’re setting up some kind of a ritual.” He said.
Colt looked to me, “We have to go back. If they’re wolves, they might be the ones they try to
sacrifice to break the moon curse.” He said.
“I know we do.” I said. I looked down at my babies. “But not all of us do.” I looked up to Colt.
I got out of the car with my kids and took them to my dad. My dad stepped out of the car, “Just
keep going. Everything will be fine.” He said, trying to get me to just go back home and not worry
about it.
“We can’t just go home, dad. They’re going to sacrifice those wolves to break the moon curse on
vampires. If they do that, they will be free to roam day or night without cover or shade and wreak
havoc across the world. We can’t let that happen.” I kissed my kids on the head, “You need to take
them home, keep them safe and just get them away from these vamps to break their trance. Colt
and I need to go back with our warriors.”
My dad gave me a knowing look. He understands he would do the same if it was his pack. He nodded, took my kids, and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek. “Be safe sweet Freya.” He said as he
got back into the car.
I walked back over to our car and got in the front with Colt. I closed the door and closed my eyes taking a deep breath. I felt Colt put his hand on mine, when I opened my eyes he was looking at me with admiration.

“You’re the best wife, best mother, and best Luna I could have ever asked for.” He said.
I smiled at him, “Let’s go stop these bastards.”
