COLT POV
+25 Points
We arrived and slowly ran over to where our people were. Ash said that he sent grounds of the bears and groups of the pack warriors to scatter around, that way if we need to attack, we’re in
good position.
“Good job, gamma.” I said to Ash. He’s been good lately. Stepped up a lot since Levi was in the
hospital. He’s been my second go–to man, he’s earned it.
Ash smiled, he knows that he’s growing on me.
I looked out at what we’re seeing. Ash was right, they’re definitely setting up a ritual for a sacrifice. I looked to Freya, linking her to ensure we’re quiet and asked, “How do we stop this?”
She looked to me, “I have absolutely no idea.” She told me.
Well, that wasn’t quite the answer I was looking for. How am I supposed to move forward here? I
don’t know what to do. Honestly, I’m not even sure if it’s something we can stop. They have those
other wolves in a trance from what I can tell, by now they’ve probably figured out that we killed
their little Crow buddies and taken their prisoners.
“What do we do about the other wolves?” One of them asked the one that appears to be leading things, a very tall and ghostly pale man with short dark hair.
“We can kill them when this is broken/” He said back to the other man.
I kept watching what they were doing. It looks like they’re adding a bunch of stuff to a bowl they have in the middle of a group of candles. This must be a spell they’re trying to do.
“Anyone notice where a phone might be around here?” I linked the pack to ask.
“Actually, Alpha there’s a pay phone over here. I haven’t checked if it works but I can.” Brett said.
“Yes check it, and if it does I need you to call Belladonna. Ask her how to stop the vamps from breaking the moon curse.” I instructed him.
It took about twenty minutes before we got a link back, “She said that the only thing we can do is make sure they don’t finish the incantation and kill the wolves. She said that they’ll be starting about midnight when the moon is at it’s peak in the sky.”
Well, that gives us about an hour to figure out how to do this safely. I looked over to Freya. I could basically see the wheels turning in her head.
“We need to find weapons.” She said. I looked around, there’s a lot of the Crow’s buildings and
tents set up all around here.

I linked everyone, “Quietly try to find us some weapons. Sharp weapons to make some heads roll.”
Freya looked at me with a humorous grin. We were given some weapons, they’re not the best but
we can make do.
“Alpha, I haven’t heard from a couple of the groups since you sent us looking for weapons.” Ash
said, Brett confirmed.
This arose a bad feeling.
“Colt…” Freya said, trouble in her voice. I looked over at her and she was staring over at the place
where they’ve began the ritual set up.
They were bringing our wolves and bears in to stand around the ritual table. One of them are
fighting back, none of them have any expression to their faces, they’re not speaking, they’re just doing as they’re told. This is the vampire holding them in a trance. They know we’re here now. We
no longer have the element of surprise.
Suddenly, everyone around us stood straight up and slowly began walking over to them. They’re
tranced. I looked over to Freya and she just sat there watching them. Our mate bond is strong
enough that we’re not in this trance like they are. We’re free to continue moving and thinking for
ourselves. Looks like it’s up to us to somehow get through this.
Once they all walked out we could hear the two vampires talking again.
“Are you sure these two will work? We don’t need to have Colt and Freya?” The smaller, weaker one
asked.
The other one just kept working on putting everything in the bowl and measuring it out.
“Sir, I’ve never heard of this pack these two are from. Shouldn’t the pack be well known if they’re
centuries old?” The one asked again.
The apparent leader of them slammed his hands down on the table in front of him and peered over
to the other one, “Do you doubt me?” He hissed.
“No sir, just umm curious.” He nervously replied.
“I know this pack, and I know for a fact that the people who started this pack broke off from Big
Sky in the first generation. They’ve kept the same rules and guidelines as Big Sky. These two are direct descendants of the original werewolves.” He said, very matter–of–factly.
I looked over to Freya, she was eying them closely but turned to me when she felt me looking at
her.
“What pack is this?” She asked me in a link.
“I’m not sure. I know there have been Big Sky descendants that have gone their own way, but I’ve

never heard of another purebred pack before.” I answered in the link.

We only have a couple of weapons for us, and they’re in the middle of all these bears and wolves. My main concern of attacking them is that they’re controlling our people, they could sick them on
us if they wished to.
“Sir, who are these others? They don’t smell like wolves.” The one asked the leader. He was walking
around a couple of bears. Once he got to Bjorn he stopped and eyed him with fear in his eyes. I
don’t blame him; Bjorn is the largest of the bears.
“It doesn’t matter, they’ll be dead soon.” The leader said back. “Now get over here and help me
damn it.”
The guy broke his gaze from Bjorn and rushed over to help his leader.
“Ideas?” Freya asked me in a link.
“Honestly, no. The only thing I can think of is rushing them and killing them, but I worry about them
using our pack against us.” I answered.
“That’s what I was thinking too.” She said.
“We’ve got to think of something quick because Belladonna said midnight, and we’re almost there.”
I said.
We sat there a minute thinking out loud of the possibilities in front of us.
“I’ve got it!” Freya said in our link. “I’m going to shield us, we’re going to sneak through the pack members until we’re right up behind the vampires and you’re going to take the leader guy and I’ll
take the other one.” She excitedly stated.
“Isn’t that basically just rushing them, but with shields?” I asked.
“And sneaking.” She said back sarcastically. “I just think this is the best shot we’re going to get. If the pack starts attacking us then we’re at least shielded and when we kill the vamps their trance
will be broken.”
