FREYA POV
Walking back to the pack house was awkward. This doom and gloom hanging over all of our heads really seemed to set in more and more with each passing step to the office. I’m still having a
hard time processing that my mother died. I still have so many questions about it. I want to know
how it happened, if she was killed and who did it, if dad killed the bastard that killed her, and…And just so much more!
My emotions have the best of me right now. It’s hard not to let them take over because I am so upset. Losing my mom, I don’t think I’ve actually allowed myself the time to process the news yet. Knowing that a bunch of my dad’s people he brought here are beat up tells me that there’s more going on out there than we really know.
We know that the vamps have basically taken over and are killing werewolves for the sport of it,, but something is really telling me that there’s more than that going on even. Right now, I’m making myself put my emotions on the back burner as best I can so we can get an idea of what our pack should be expecting. We’re self–sufficient, so thankfully we’re not faced with having to go to town for much of anything. Not to mention we have all the bears with us now too.
Thanks to the bears we were able to get the wall around much more than just the normal area we were using as our territory. We decided that we needed to have room for all of us to be able to
roam, swim, and build onto if we needed to. We also needed to ensure that the caves the bears are living in were also included.
When we finally got to the office, it was somehow even more awkward. Just for a moment though, before Colt took the situation by the reins and got us all back in line and ready to discuss this
situation.
As promised, Luke met us and so did Levi.
“Alpha…” Colt began, “We know that the vamps have basically taken over most of the country, if not the world. We know that they’re killing werewolves for sport and that they’re feeding on the humans more than before. Please walk us through what we’re not in the loop on.”
My dad cleared his throat, “About three years ago the rumor that vamps broke the curse started going around. Our pack doesn’t really have humans in it, but humans do come through from time to time. That stopped almost instantly when those rumors started going around. Of course, we knew at the time that it wasn’t a rumor.” He looked over to Luke who continued.
“The stories grew more and more. About two years ago we got word that Silver Moon Pack had all been killed. Then we realized that things were going to start changing quickly. We just didn’t realize how quickly.” Luke said.

The
Simomasage is when they started killing werewolves? Lasked.
“No.“my dad answered. That’s just when we heard about the first pack they completely wiped out.
Actually, it got worse from there. Luke continued, “As you know, Freya, we were getting food shipments in from human settlements, we were also getting other goods orders through the humans like toilet paper and paper towels, clothes etc. Those slowly stopped coming in shortly
after the destruction of Silver Moon”
My dad looked over to Cok. “The next pack we heard was destroyed was Damon’s.” He waited a
moment, allowing that news to hit Colt.
Wee there any sundors?” He asked.
Wydad shook his head, “Not that we’ve heard of.
Cot sat there for a moment, then he asked, “What happened to your pack?”
Nel Luke started, “Once the goods from the humans stopped coming in the realization set in that none of those things were probably coming back. We had a few human survivors that crossed over into our land seeking refuge. They were from nearby towns and cities. They told us that the vamps had completely taken over. They were enslaying some humans as walking blood bags; they were kiling most humans draining their blood completely. Even the walking blood bags they were enslaving were slowly dying because they’d get fed on so much in such short periods of time that their body couldn’t regenerate the blood they were losing.”
I shook my head in disgust. I remember that poor man we found at the waterfalls, they’d basically
done the same thing to him.
My dad scooted up to the edge of his seat, “We started arming up. We figured if these humans were coming to our pack from nearby human towns and cities then it was only a matter of time before they made it to Hope. We weren’t prepared when they did.”
Luke walked up behind my dad and placed his hand on my dad’s shoulders, “They were ruthless. They didn’t just kill our people, they tortured them. Somehow, they had bane, and they coated weapons with it. They used that weird mind–numbing control thing they do and had parents just sit
by and watch as their children were tortured and killed. They even…” He stopped and he looked
down at my dad who just lightly shook his head like he was telling him not to say something.
My dad spoke, “Let’s just say that they tortured us. Only a few made it out alive and when we made
it out, I knew there was really only one place that might be left untouched by these monsters. So,
we made our way here. It wasn’t easy, we had to travel through a lot of backwoods type places we
wouldn’t have normally. We couldn’t bring vehicles. We basically just had what little we could carry
and most of that was rations and weapons. We killed a couple smaller groups of them on our way
that we ran into. Probably took us a good four months to get here.”
I had to know, “Dad, what happened to mom?” I asked.
+25 Ports
Luke looked down at my dad in his chair, my dad just looked at me with a face that said I didn’t
want to know.
“Baby, all I think you really need to know is she fought harder than anyone I’ve ever seen before. It just wasn’t enough; we weren’t prepared enough. She died before we left Hope.” He answered,
sort of. That wasn’t telling me much.
“Why won’t you tell me? And where’s my brother?” asked.
My dad stood and put my hands in his, “Freya, she was killed and the manor in which she was killed
I don’t think I can actually allow the words to leave my mouth. Like I said, it’s bad out there. They’re
monsters. The only thing I can really tell you is that Luke and I took out the sons of b*****s before
we left Hope. Your brother is with us, physically. Mentally, he’s a bit on the rough side. His family,
um, didn’t make it out of Hope either.”
My heart broke hearing my dad say these things. I looked over to Colt, I could feel the anger radiating from him.
