COLT POV

“How many have we found so far?” I asked Levi.

I sent him out with a few others to find volunteers to help get our plan accomplished. He was pretty excited about it, although he said he wished he was the one that came up with it. When he saw how much Grace helped Keegan, she knew she was the right person for the task of helping Sasha, but he didn’t quite make it this far.

“We’ve found eight people, Alpha.” He responded.

“Are they all from Big Sky?” I asked him.

He gave me a weird look, then answered, “Well, um, no I guess.”

I cocked my head a little at him waiting for him to elaborate.

He cleared his throat, “Well, Alpha, I think they’re all Big Sky at this point, aren’t they?”

This really made me think. Honestly, before meeting Freya I would have said there’s no way in hell I would let someone who isn’t a purebred Big Sky into Big Sky unless they’ve been mated by the

Goddess.

These days though, I’m not so sure that the purebred bloodline is all too relevant. The hard part is there’s three Alphas here. So far, we’ve not butted heads or had any issues with that. However, I imagine that if we’re all to fall under one pack then it might end up happening. Alphas are not meant to be following a leader, after all. We’re meant to lead, that’s why we’re Alphas.

“Well, anyways Alpha there’s eight of them. They’re all women, which makes me feel a little worried for their safety if they trigger someone during one of these talks they’re going to be doing though.” Levi continued. I shook my head, forgetting entirely that I was still having a conversation with

anyone.

“That’s something we’ll have to think on. I would like Freya to go to some of our warriors and ask for their help, too.” I said.

“Ash went to the warriors, none of them were interested.” He answered.

“Yeah, well Freya has a way with the men. They see things very differently when their Luna talks to them about it.” I said with a feeling of pride.

“I heard you say my name.” Freya said as she poked her head into my office.

Levi and I laughed, “Good Freya I’m glad you’re here. I was going to call for you.”

Levi stood from the seat across from my desk, “Is there anything else you need from me Alpha?

He asked.

“Not as of now, Levi thank you. Once Freya talks to the men, we’ll figure out how many we’re working with, and we’ll go from there.” I answered.

He turned to leave and nodded to Freya on his way out. Freya walked in and sat in the seat across

from my desk.

“So, what can I do for you, Alpha?” She asked, I loved when she called me Alpha. She normally does it in bed, and whenever she does it outside of bed it makes me want to take her right there.

However, we have business to attend to.

Clearing my throat, “After seeing how Grace helped Keegan, I talked to her to figure out how we might be able to help the rest of those who’ve joined our pack that are going through some similar

issues after their encounters with the vampires.”

I could tell already that she was happy about this, and she wasn’t even aware of what I was going

to be asking of her yet.

“Levi and a couple of the men have gone around the pack to find those who are willing to help out and they’ve gotten quite a few volunteers. However, we’re hoping to maybe have a few men join the group and none of them have volunteered. Since you’re the Luna and the warriors respond to you differently than anyone else, I was hoping you’d talk to them and see if you could get us a couple men to join the team?” I asked.

She stood straight up, excitedly, “I am on it!” She said and went to walk out of the office.

“Freya wait.” I said quickly before she left.

She turned and looked at me weird, “What?”

“Don’t you want to know what you should be telling them the task entails?” I asked sarcastically.

She laughed a little then went back to the chair and sat down, “Oh yeah, guess that might help.”

I laughed. I’m glad she’s happy about this. I know this issue with the men from her father’s pack and from Damon’s pack has been on all of our minds hard lately. Having a possible solution feels

good.

I explained everything to her, exactly how Grace had explained it to me. Basically, we just need to have a designated space for these volunteers to sit down and talk one on one with those that are suffering and then eventually the more they’re able to sit down and talk we’ll work on breaking down the walls that get these guys to open up and talk about what they went through. The talking is the first part, the second part is figuring out how we can help them get from the point they’re at

to a point where they can function in the rest of the pack without causing issues like they have

been. Then we work on finding ways to get these guys ready for battle again. Hopefully, battle will wait for us to get through this, but even if it doesn’t, we must try what we can to help those in need

right now.

“So, can I go talk to them now?” Freya asked sarcastically. Giving me a look like I spoke too much

because she’s too excited to get out there and talk to the men about this.

I laughed, “Yes, my love. Good luck.”

She got up and walked over to the door and gave me a cute little wink over her shoulder.

I got up and left my office and headed out to go find Grace. I needed her help getting everything started, and she’s basically the only expert we have right now. Though, she’s no expert at this as she’s only worked with one person, but she’s done more with this than any of the rest of us have.

On my way to her I ended up running into Harland with my kids. He’s been helping me teach Hunter a lot about becoming an Alpha. It’s been quite nice having him around to help with all of that. He’s also been helping by just spending time with the kids while we’re doing things. He’s taking his grandfather role very seriously. I think it’s his way of coping with everything. He knows that if Misty were still here, she’d be all over hanging out with the kids and teaching them everything she had to

offer.

I allowed myself to get a little distracted and ended up building a couple of bird houses with my

kids and father-in-law.

I can talk to Grace a little later.
