FREYA POV
From what I could tell, everyone was shielded. I could hear the battle cries ahead of us. Our job is
to hold the center of the pack grounds. Ash and his guys at the front gate are going to begin the
battle and fall back to the center grounds. Everyone along the sides will be falling back to the center grounds if no one is attacking the sides. So far, it sounds like they’re just coming right through the front.
Horrible strategy in my mind, but they seem to be without leadership so I’m sure they’re just
expecting to come in and force everyone to obey them, like they’ve done with the other packs. I’m
sure right about now they’re realizing this isn’t like any other pack they’ve attacked. We left no
survivors in the group of vamps that we battled before, so they couldn’t run off and tell anyone that
we were prepared.
I began thinking back to that battle and the others that we’ve been in. Then I started thinking of my
abilities and what I could possibly do with them to make this easier on the rest of the pack.
I have used fear in the past for myself, and I used it once on the pack but they were all closer to me
and they were all my pack. I am not sure if it will work on everyone, but I decided to try it. I took a
deep breath and closed my eyes, focusing on not just my pack, but all of the packs in here fighting.
I decided that I was going to use all of my abilities to our advantage today, all except communing with the Goddess. I used the fact that no one has started falling back to the center grounds yet to help me relax. I sat down and crossed my legs where I was standing. I focused on the pack, the
sounds around us so I knew where everyone was, and I started feeling the light breeze brush
through my hair. Second ability in use.
I started hearing them coming towards us, so I focused on small objects around us which ended
up being mostly small rocks and sticks. I began levitating them in the air. I opened my eyes once I had a good grasp on them and stood up. Once the vamps came into view I began hurling the objects at them.
This caught many off guard, and I got lucky on a few and stuck the vamps directly in the heart killing them. This didn’t stop them from fighting though. I stood my ground and allowed Stella to come forth slightly so she could use her bark to strike fear into these blood sucking demons.
Sky and her group came up beside us, the first group to fall back from the sides. They quickly ‘shifted into their bears and began attacking. I could tell immediately that the shield was up on
them too, which makes a bear quite a terrifying creature.
Just as a vamp.came up to attack me, an arrow pierced him. I turned and saw my father was

coming up from beside us. I looked around and everyone had fallen back to the center now.
The darkness is an advantage to us, so I did not use my light. I figured if I took away our night vision advantage then that could harm our fight.
I looked over to Colt, he was being attacked by several. I ran up beside him with a sword in hand and began slashing at the necks of every blood sucker I could around him. I hated these bastards, but I felt my rage start ripping through me when I saw them attacking my mate.
I could feel the odd feeling of joy coursing through me as I watched heads roll from their
shoulders.
That feeling slowly started fading as I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder behind me. I didn’t have
much time to react to that though as two vamps were rushing me from the front. I used some new
techniques I learned during our little experimental training and decapitated one then used that
one’s body to support me jumping up and over to be behind the other one before its body dropped.
Then I decapitated the second one before it realized I was behind him.
Rushing back to fight beside Colt I couldn’t help but feel the pain in my shoulder increase. I tried to
keep my mind off of it though, I figured it had to just be because I was expending a lot of energy keeping the shield up, the wind going, and having used the fear and levitation.
I kept fighting, though I was growing more and more weak. Suddenly, Colt grabbed me up in his arms and started carrying me out of the battle. I kept yelling at him to stop, but he wasn’t listening.
He rushed me to the doors of the pack house where my father was already waiting and then my
father took me. Neither of them was listening to me. There was a battle going on and they were
taking me to the pack house?
When my
father sat me down on the floor he started rolling me over.
“Ouch!” I yelled at him. My shoulder started hurting more.
“Freya stop fighting me!” My father yelled at me. “You were stabbed, the stick is under your
shoulder blade and you’re losing a lot of blood.”
“I’m fine dad. We need to get back out there!” I yelled at him. Seriously, it’s just a little stick I can push through it. There’s a battle going on.
“Freya, you’re not listening. I need to get it out. You’re going to bleed out. I need to get it out and try to heal you now stop fighting me!” He yelled loudly.
Suddenly I felt this overwhelming need to just shut up and listen to him. He scared me.
He dug the stick out of my shoulder, and I could feel the blood start to gush. I was growing weaker.
“The shield.” I muttered. I wanted to say it louder to make sure he could hear me, but it was all I

Thankfully he heard me, “I have it up.” He said through his teeth, grunting as he put pressure on my
wound.
I could feel him healing me. My strength wasn’t coming back yet, but the pain was stopping. It
almost felt numb.
