We didn’t get five minutes from her house before we smelled bad news. Rogues again. They had the same smell as the ones we killed earlier. The stink was more potent, which means there’s more than before.
Quickly we all stripped and shifted, careful not to rip the last of our clothing, at least until we get a little closer to the pack where they have clothes hidden around.
It’s probably about 1ish in the morning now, the night is as dark as coal. The moon is hidden by trees right now so our eyesight in the dark is all we have to work with. As wolves our sight improves, and when I shifted and let Stella take over I could see them closing in around us. It looks like maybe 10 of them.
Fighting one wasn’t a big deal, fighting two or three might be. A couple of them looked bigger than any from the last group. That whole group was smaller than we are.
They all moved in as a group like they were going in on their prey. We all stood tail to tail facing out towards them and growling at them, snapping our jaws so they knew we weren’t backing down.
Colt is the biggest of us so four of them went after him, I could feel his rage and mine was matching. Three came after me, I dodged one and stopped another dead in his tracks and threw him back at the third. I turned, while the other two recovered from colliding, and snapped at the ankles of the one coming back up behind me.
One of them jumped on my back, I rolled him off but he bit my back. I ignored the pain and lunged at the throat of the smallest one. I ripped with my teeth dug into the neck and felt the warm blood spray all over my face. One down.
I turned just in time to dodge one lunging at me and ended up at the feet of the other. I snapped at his ankle and got ahold of it just long enough to cause some pain to weaken him. The other jumped back at me biting my hind leg, I yelped and spun around just in time to paw the side of his face, drawing blood. I jumped on his back digging my teeth into his spine and rolling, taking him with me with just my teeth.
I ripped a nice chunk out of his back. I stood and ran towards the one with the hurt ankle, he tried to back away but I was faster, I knocked him down and he hit his head on a boulder. I took that chance to rip his throat out. Two down.
The last jumped on my back and bit the back of my neck but I moved before he could sink his teeth too deep, but he was still on my back. He tried for my neck again but suddenly he was off of me.
I turned to look and Colt was on top of him biting at his neck, sinking his teeth in and biting. several times not ripping. He was doing this to make his death painful. Finally, the wolf stopped moving.
We both turned toward Levi and Jessi and they were killing their final wolf. At last, all of them were dead. I could feel the blood dripping out of my neck and my leg. I shifted back and dressed quickly, Colt instantly came over to inspect my wounds. Turns out that silly first aid kit came in handy. Jessi and I had some bigger wounds, but Colt and Levi only had small ones.
Colt panicked, like something was wrong. He hurried and grabbed the first aid dumping everything out so Levi and him could find what they needed.
“You know, we’re big girls. We can dress our own wounds.” I giggled.
“Freya those were rogues, these can get infected really fast. We need to get you girls home.” Colt was worrying too much. Jessi and I looked at each other and nodded, we were fine.
They both insisted we hurry back, but we have to go in human form still so it’s still going to be a few hours at least.
All of a sudden I was starving. We left before dinner so I’m not surprised. Jessi came over to me and asked if I had enough food for her too. While her and I rummaged through the bag of food both guys were hounding us to keep moving.
About half way through an apple Jessi started throwing up. I went to check on her and suddenly felt really dizzy. I found a rock to sit down. Colt was in my face saying something, but it just sounded like he was so far away.
I started feeling sick, I tried to tell him to move but I couldn’t. He must have noticed that I was going to puke because he stepped out of the way. All I had was a banana to eat since breakfast so there wasn’t much to throw up.
I tried looking around for Jessi, it looked like Levi was picking her up. She looked dead. I tried to yell for her but nothing seemed to come out of my mouth.
I looked at Colt and he was picking me up. I tried telling him to put me down, but my body felt like I had no control over it.
He grabbed my bag and carried me. The bouncing from him running was calming. I kept watching him, he looked so worried. I was trying to figure out why he seemed to be glowing, there was a white glow all around him.
Somehow, I ended up looking up at the sky. I could see the moon and stars with tree tops racing by me. The sky was beautiful, green and pink glowing all over. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Everything started getting really dark, the last thing I remember was the beautiful lights, then everything went black.
