The Big Sky Alpha novel Chapter 43

FREYA POV

When Eunice said he found how we fix the haze Colt called for an immediate meeting with my parents, Luke and Levi. Since my brother is the next alpha he came and Jessi came with Levi.

We meet in the conference room. Eunice brought all the books and scrolls we got from the witch’s house. I remembered the one that looked like it was written in blood. I wonder if that’s the one he’s referring to.

“Eunice” Colt began the meeting, “You say you have news about the haze?”

Eunice cleared his throat, “Yes Alpha I found how to fix it.”

The room went quiet and Eunice looked like he was waiting for an invitation, so I gave it to him.

“Go on, Eunice.” I motioned to the pile of scrolls and books.

“Right then.” he shifted through and brought out a scroll. “This scroll contains the spell the witch’s used to calm the wolves desires. It has a list of everything we need to do it and almost all of it has locations where we can find it.”

“What do we need?” my father asked.

“We need the bones of a werewolf, blood of an alpha, blood of a Luna, some herbs that are back at her cabin, fur from a Big Sky purebred, moon and star dust from the Goddess, ash of a white pine, the fang of a wolf, and five witches who are willing to be immortal or who are already immortal.” Eunice read off to us.

Quite the list, but he said most things have locations. “What doesn’t have locations?” I asked, knowing that’s the part that’s going to hurt us.

He looked at me knowing exactly my thoughts, “The moon and star dust from the Goddess.”

Everyone began to get upset, wondering how the hell we were supposed to get our hands on that. Eunice and Colt just looked at me.

“I have no idea how to see her again. She said I’d learn how but how do I do that?” I asked Eunice, causing everyone else to just stare at me in silence.

“Show her the scroll written in blood.” Colt said to Eunice.

“I remember that scroll, I can’t read it.” I took it when he handed it to me.

“I can, and I will help you because this scroll will be very helpful to you.” Eunice said.

“The other thing, the items for the wolves are all instructed to search for this pack, but you do not currently have an actual Luna.” he looked over at me, “Unless you want to wait the month as you were doing previously, I would recommend moving your Luna ceremony and wedding up sooner or the blood of the pack Luna will not work.”

“Okay, but where does it say we find the witches?” my mother asked.

“That’s not in the scroll, but after reading a few of these books I’ve gathered that the Infinity Coven recruited more witches so they could pass along their teachings, some of whom are daughters of the originals and granddaughters and so forth.” he looked over the room, everyone appeared to just not know what to say. “If we use the information in the books then I think we can find them.”

“Why do you wish to help us with this?” my brother asked, clearly not trusting the oracle as the rest of us do.

“If this haze isn’t fixed, it’s not just the fate of wolves at stake. Humans will become targets and will eventually be wiped out. Though I am a seer I am still human and I have a way to help my fellow humans.” he answered honestly.

Colt stood from the table, “Eunice, first you will show Freya the scroll so she can work on reaching the goddess. Then, you will sit with Harland and Misty and figure out what we can about the witches. Levi and Luke, take three gammas from our two packs and go back to the witch’s cabin with a list of the herbs we need and anything else it says we’ll find there.” he looked around to everyone as they nodded. ” Questions?” he asked.

My mother stood, “Why is Freya reaching the goddess? how is she supposed to do that? why does it sound like you’ve already done this Freya?”

I sighed and looked at her and my father, then over to Colt. “Father’s bloodline is a unique bloodline, directly descended from the original alpha and the moon goddess. She made it so every first born child in the bloodline carried the blood and abilities of the very first alpha. I’m sure that father can do it too, but long ago one of the Alphas in the line decided that this would be harmful if the wrong person learned of the abilities so he kept them secret and they became forgotten, but the goddess grabbed me while I was out and explained it to me.”

My parents looked at me in shock, then my father asked if he could sit in with me to discuss the blood scroll because he wanted to learn too.

We all split into our designated tasks. We still had battles to get ready for too. Colt and I have been missing from them a long time and Big Sky has a gamma in the battles tonight.

Eunice and my father came with me while Lila came to do my Luna war paint. This scroll had detailed descriptions of how we do everything, he finished reading it to us as Lila had finished my face.

*So, now we practice?” my father asked.

‘Yes, I think we should begin working on that tomorrow.” Eunice said “Tonight rest, because this says it’s taxing.”

We headed down to dinner, and I devoured my plate, Colt did too. We desperately needed that food. It was the best meal I think I’ve ever tasted. Maybe it was just because I needed the nutrition.

The battle began and I blankly watched the battle as I lived in my thoughts. I kept thinking about what the goddess said to me, I thought about how safe I felt with her. I wondered why no part of me thought of asking her for help with the haze.

The bell dinged bringing me back to life. Big Sky won by knock out. We all went to celebrate with a drink and Colt and I went back to our room. We began to shower and the haze hit. The warmth overcame me like I stepped into boiling water.

I could feel my knees weaken and even though water was already running over my body I could feel my core becoming even more wet.

Colt looked like he’d seen a ghost, the feeling of the haze must have brought his mind back to the cell. I placed my hand on both sides of his face and made him look at me.

“I’m here my love, we’re together this time.” then I kissed him, intensely as I tried so hard to get him out of those thoughts. It took a moment, but it worked because he picked me up against the shower wall and let his body take over fully until our haze died down.

“I want more.” I whispered in his ear, letting him know that I do need him as much as he needs me.
