The Big Sky Alpha novel Chapter 44

FREYA POV

I fell asleep in Colt’s arms and woke up feeling amazing. Last night was just what we needed. The connection, the love, the power of our bond to help us both heal.

Colt’s breathing began changing so I knew he was awake.

“Good morning my beautiful.” he whispered to me in a very groggy voice.

“mmm Good morning handsome.” I groaned out as I stretched.

“What’s your plan for the day?” I asked as I realized he gave everyone else specifics on what they needed to do but he never mentioned what he’d be doing.

“I already have most of your Luna ceremony planned so I’m going to finish that and then I figured I’d put together the parts of our wedding that I can manage without you. We have to move that up if your blood is going to work.” he said with a cute boyish grin.

“I was wondering about that.” I giggled.

I got up and got dressed in my dark green skirt and a matching dark green crop top. I kissed my mate then went off to find the oracle. Eunice is going to help me and my father communicate with the goddess.

I mind linked my father, “Are you ready to get started?” he responded, “It’s about time! Been waiting for you to wake up!” he laughed

I walked into the kitchen to get coffee and sure enough there was dad and Eunice eating breakfast. I grabbed a slice of toast and bacon and went to join them.

“I was asking Harland where the most calm and peaceful area is around here, he mentioned a meadow nearby with a little creek running through it that he passed one day while helping Colt in the dungeon. I think we should head there as soon as we’re done and get started.” Eunice said right as I sat down.

“Sounds great! I’m ready to figure this out.” I said.

The meadow was breath taking. It’s not so far into the dry season that everything is dying yet so all around us there’s wildflowers and beautiful small bushes and tall grass with crickets chirping and birds singing. The sound of the creek running really adds to the ambiance.

Eunice said there’s several things on the list of special abilities our bloodline has, and he feels we should work our way down in order of difficulty so that when we get to communicating with the goddess we’ll be ready.

The first three were pretty easy to grasp. It felt like magic really. We can create a light breeze, we can bark and speak in such a way that it strikes fear into someone, and minor levitation on other objects, not ourselves as I was hoping when he first said it. Light objects is all it works on. I couldn’t do a log but I could do a stick.

Father and I both seemed to agree that these things were really fun. The fourth one was quite difficult, it took us a couple hours to get it. We had to create light, I thought it was going to be easy as pie but I was wrong.

We’re heading back early because we want to be closer to the pack when the haze hits, but Eunice says he thinks we made great progress today. Tomorrow we will work on healing wounds, creating a shield, and then communicating with the goddess.

Even just a few hours of working on everything I feel so exhausted but oddly refreshed. It feels like I’ve just been introduced to a part of me I’ve been longing for, even though I just found out about it. I couldn’t wait to tell Colt about it and of course talk about our wedding.

I skipped my shower this morning because I was so anxious about working on my abilities, so when we got back I decided to shower and change before I met up with Colt. As I was getting ready to get dressed I began craving him, I felt myself become painfully aroused.

I knew the haze was hitting, but Colt wasn’t here. I laid down on the bed and began rubbing myself, I felt nothing. I insert a finger, two, nothing. I couldn’t find anything to help even a little. The pain was intense.

Thankfully, Colt busted into the room looking for me, there was a horror in his eyes until he finally saw me. Then horror turned into pure need.

It was like animal instincts took over. I didn’t even let him make it to the bed. I jumped on him and he took us to the floor.

I got down on my hands and knees and whimpered until he finally slammed into me. It took a minute to finally feel like us again. Suddenly it didn’t feel like we were animals desperate, it felt like we were the two of us having sex.

He leaned down and kissed my back as he rubbed my a*s and thigh. His rhythm slowed down as he became more gentle and I felt like I didn’t need to jump back into him anymore.

He increased his rhythm when he began to get close, my moaning increasing, but he was still being gentle. When my orgasm hit his hit too and we rode out the waves together. He grabbed me so I’d turn back to him and I could see the sadness in his eyes.

“I hope I didn’t hurt you, I’m not sure what came over me. I felt like I was back in the dungeon.

It began to hurt.” his voice started cracking, I held my hand up to stop him.

“It’s okay, you didn’t hurt me. In fact, it was quite painful before you came in. When I jumped on you, that didn’t really feel like it was me doing it.” I explained to him. The whole thing was weird, but feeling him enter me, when I was needing him as much as I was, felt incredible!

I shook my head and stood up, continuing to get dressed.

“I was going to come find you after I got dressed, I made great progress today, I was hoping to spend the rest of the day planning our wedding?” I asked feeling shy about it but was also so excited that I’m getting married, even though I’ve known him just a little over a week.

“I would love to spend the rest of the day with my fiance planning our wedding.” he winked at me and wrapped me in his arms.
