Chapter 100
Next, Leeanne started targeting the frog’s belly.

She kept firing arrows while backing away, but the frog kept its belly well guarded. Several times, her arrows just grazed its stomach.
Leeanne moved back to another trap and jumped right over it.
The frog had some smarts. It remembered getting burned by a trap like this before, so now it was way more cautious. It stopped in the hallway, not daring to come any closer.
Leeanne kept firing Arrows, and with a sharp thunk, one of them struck the frog right in its bulging, round eye.
The frog let out a shrill croak of pain, and in a burst of rage, it lunged at her.
Leeanne released her grip on the soft whip with her right hand and lashed it out viciously. With a sharp crack, the blow landed heavily across its back.
Just like before, the soft whip couldn’t hurt the frog’s tough back, but the tip brushed against the Arrow lodged in its eye.
The Arrow sank a little deeper.
The frog let out a pained croak, went limp, and dropped from the air with a loud thud right into the trap.
Two crunching sounds echoed as the frog cried out in pain again and again.
It had been hurt by the trap once more.
The frog wouldn’t stop croaking, its cries so loud it almost made Leeanne’s ears ring.
She couldn’t help but cover her ears.
The sound was grating, almost painful.
She stepped back a few paces, notched an arrow to her bow, and stood ready, preparing to deliver a fatal blow the moment the frog leaped out of the trap.
However, the frog never emerged. Moreover, its croaking grew fainter and fainter until it was barely audible.
[You killed a Tier 3 Green Ciant Frog and earned 120 points. Do you want to decompose the Green Giant Frog’s body?
‘It’s dead?’ Leeanne was overjoyed. ‘So that’s a Green Giant Frog. Its weakness was so easy to hit! This trap really came through for me!
She answered right away, “Yes”
[Decomposition complete! You’ve acquired 10 Green Giant Frog Meat.]
‘Frog meat?‘ Leeanne thought. She didn’t really want it. But there was no time to hesitate. Killing the frog had already cost her too much time. She had to hurry and grab the treasure chest.
As Leeanne rushed toward the treasure chest, she suddenly noticed a pile of junk in the corner
The pile was a jumbled mess, stones, dirt clods, and what looked like scrap metal all heaped together.

Leeanne decided to take a look. Who knows, maybe there’s some treasure hiding in there?‘ she thought.
She walked over to the messy pile and used her spear to dig through it. Sure enough, she found something.

They were a pair of mid–calf leather boots, large, probably around size 13. Pitch black and caked in mud, they gave off a revolting stench.
[Bob’s Boots: Bob’s favorite shoes. Agility +5. Suitable for men. Do you want to pick them up?]
“Whoa, five points of Agility? That’s insane!‘ Leeanne thought, her eyes lighting up. ‘Now that’s what I call a treasure. It’s just that they’re too dirty and designed for men.
‘I can’t wear them myself, but I can definitely sell them for a good price, maybe even trade them for a Rare blueprint! I definitely can’t let such a treasure slip away!’
“Yes,” she said.
[Bob’s Boots acquired!]
With the boots in hand, Leeanne didn’t waste any time. She sprinted straight toward the treasure chest.
When she finally got there, she spotted a little pond behind the chest. ‘So that’s where the Green Giant Frog was living,’ she thought.
Leeanne eagerly ran her fingers over the luminous pearls embedded in the treasure chest. ‘This chest is gorgeous. If I could pop these luminous pearls off, it could serve as a candle in the room,‘ she thought.
Just as Leeanne was about to open the treasure chest, the luminous pearls embedded in it suddenly flashed twice, and a small, shadowy figure materialized right on top.
Startled, Leeanne quickly backed away, putting a good dozen steps between herself and the chest, and snatched up her horn bow, ready for anything.
‘Wait, it’s just a fake?‘ Keeping her distance, Leeanne realized the figure on the chest wasn’t a real person. It was more like a ghostly image, but his features were clear as day.
He was a dwarf, barely three feet tall, chubby, with a big, round nose speckled with freckles, huge, round eyes, and a bushy beard covering his cheeks and chin.
He wore tattered clothes and wielded a massive hammer, shouting at Leeanne, “Who dares touch my treasure chest? Who dares mess with Bob’s treasure chest?”
Leeanne eyed him cautiously.
The dwarf brandished his hammer and yelled, “Who dares mess with Bob’s treasure chest?”
Leeanne quietly moved to the side, but the dwarf kept staring straight ahead. His gaze never shifted, no matter how she
moved.
He just kept brandishing his hammer, shouting the same thing again and again.
‘Bob’s treasure? Bob’s treasure chest?‘ Leeanne wondered. ‘So this guy is Bob?
Leeanne observed for quite a while and noticed that Bob was only talking nonstop. He didn’t make many movements
After a moment’s thought, she grabbed a rock from the ground and tossed it at the figure, but the figure didn’t react at all.

‘So, it’s just a projection, Leeanne thought.
Feeling bolder, she crept up to the treasure chest and activated it.
[You have obtained Bob’s treasure chest. Would you like to open it?]

No other way about it. These treasure chests always had to be opened first to claim the loot, and then one could take the empty chest. Leeanne was already used to this routine.
“Yes,” she replied.
[Bob’s treasure chest opened! You have received 1 Red Elixir. 1 Purple Elixir, 1 Yellow Elixir, and 1 Pet Pouch.]
[Your points increased by 300.]
What’s all this loot? And I even got points?‘ Leeanne thought, feeling a bit stunned. That’s way too many points.
Before Leeanne could even look over her loot, the projection of Bob on top of the chest suddenly roared. “Who touched Bob’s treasure chest? Was it you?”
‘Did he just change what he said?‘ Leeanne was startled. She took a closer look and saw the figure staring right at her. furiously waving his hammer, like he might jump out of the projection at any moment.
Crap, I gotta get out of here!‘ Realizing things were about to go south. Leeanne stuffed the chest into her backpack and bolted.
Behind her. Bob roared, “You touched Bob’s treasure chest! I’m gonna kill you!”
Leeanne sprinted all the way to the cellar exit, grabbed the rope, and climbed up in a hurry.
Luckily, nobody came after her from below.
Not wanting to risk it, Leeanne jumped straight into the water and swam back to where she’d arrived earlier.
When she reached the shore, Snowy and Little Blue were still right where she’d left them, staring at her in shock.
“There’s no time! Let’s go.” Leeanne scooped them both up and bolted.
She couldn’t shake the feeling that Bob was way more than he seemed.
She kept running for half an hour before finally stopping. She set Snowy down, let Little Blue settle beside her, and flopped down onto a tree stump,
I’m so wiped out. That was exhausting and nerve–wracking. I should be far enough away now. There’s no way Bob can catch up to me, she thought, finally letting herself relax a little.
Once she finally caught her breath, Leeanne took a moment to check out the loot she’d just scored.
[Red Elixir: Permanently increases Constitution by 2 points when consumed.)
[Purple Elixir: Permanently increases Strength by 2 points when consumed.)
[Yellow Elixir: Permanently increases Agility by 2 points when consumed.]
These are all amazing!‘ Leeanne was over the moon. Items that could boost her stats were super rare. It had been so far, and she’d only ever found Power Spirit Fruit and those cherries.
