As expected, Leeanne found the Pet Pouch in her backpack and pulled it out.

The Pet Pouch was a small purple embroidered pouch, about the size of her palm, with a silk loop for carrying and pretty tassels hanging from the bottom.
[Pet Pouch (3 compartments): You can store your pets inside and take them along on your adventures. Each compartment holds one pet. Note: If the pet isn’t bonded to you, they have to agree to go in. No forcing allowed.]
‘This means I can bring Little Blue and Snowy with me, right?‘ Leeanne thought.
She looked at Little Blue and Snowy, weighed the Pet Pouch in her hand, and asked Snowy first, “Hey, Snowy, do you want to hop into my satchel? I’ll take you home with me.”
“Baa!” Snowy bleated, and in a flash, it vanished from sight.
At the same time, Leeanne saw a tiny version of Snowy inside the satchel.
“Me too, me too!” Little Blue flapped its wings excitedly.
“Alright, you can come too!” Leeanne gave the satchel a little shake, and Little Blue disappeared as well.
Inside the satchel, she spotted a mini Little Blue, spinning around in excitement.
Leeanne was just about to let her two pets out to see how they were doing when, out of nowhere, hurried footsteps sounded behind her, and an angry voice yelled, “You touched Bob’s treasure chest! I’m going to kill you!”
Bob came charging after her, hammer raised.
He was so fast that, in the blink of an eye, he was right in front of Leeanne.
At the same time, Leeanne heard a warning chime. [Alert! Danger! The enemy’s level is way above yours. Run for your life.]
Suddenly, Leeanne’s vision flooded with red.
Even though Leeanne was always grinding at school and work, she’d played enough games to know this kind of warning meant she was in serious trouble.
‘Bob is a major boss, totally out of my league. My only option is to run. But with Bob moving so fast, how can I possibly outrun him?’ Leeanne’s heart clenched in panic.
Wait, the Teleport Card! She suddenly remembered the Teleport Card she had gotten after taking down Myron, and it still had one use left.
‘If I don’t use it now, when else am I supposed to?‘ Leeanne thought.
She immediately snatched the Teleport Card from her backpack.
[Do you want to use the Teleport Card?
“Yes,” she yelled.
With a burst of white light from the Teleport Card, Leeanne disappeared in an instant..
Everything spun for a second, then Leeanne’s feet landed on something soft, and it was swaying under her. 1/4

Chapter 101
‘Where am I?‘ Leeanne wondered.
In the moonlight, all she could see below was a murky blur, and her feet kept rocking back and forth.
Still shaken, she grabbed her torch in a hurry.
As the torch flared to life, she finally saw where she was.
She was perched at the very top of a massive tree.

Fortunately, the tree was thick with dense clusters of leaves, so she was relatively safe up there. As long as she stayed still, she wouldn’t fall.
She didn’t dare climb down either. From her perch, the trees and rocks on the ground looked small, which was a clear sign she was up in a very, very tall tree. A fall from this height could easily mean serious injury.
Climbing down was out of the question. The foliage was too thick, the night too dark, and her torch too dim to make out any safe branches to grip.
Leeanne didn’t dare move. She carefully settled herself among the thick leaves at the top of the tree.
Now she finally had a moment to check her Pet Pouch.
Inside, Snowy and Little Blue were snuggled up together, sound asleep. They seemed to have no idea what was happening outside.
After a moment’s thought, Leeanne didn’t hesitate to rouse Little Blue and yank it out of the satchel.
She figured, since Little Blue was a bird, there was no way it’d get hurt even if it fell.
Little Blue blinked awake, glanced around, and squawked, “Where the heck are we? Damn, it’s freaking dark!”
“Of course it’s dark, it’s nighttime,” Leeanne said, holding it. “So, how was it inside?”
“Pretty good! Kinda boring and not much space, but it’s super comfy for sleeping,” Little Blue replied, shaking its head in satisfaction. “If you don’t need me, I’m going back to sleep.”
“Alright, go on back,” Leeanne said, letting it go.
She’d been worried about them, but now that she knew they could rest comfortably inside, she finally felt at ease.
This Pet Pouch is incredibly useful, Leeanne thought. ‘Now I can bring three pets along on my adventures without worrying about them getting lost. The only question is, when will I actually get to form a contract with my pets?”
Leeanne sat up in the treetop, bored out of her mind. Occasionally, when a gust of wind blew, she would sway gently along with it.
She peeked at the chat channel, just to kill time.
[Why do I keep bumping into people? I can’t stand it anymore. Luckily, they’re all just solo pacifists. We lock eyes, then just quietly skirt around each other.]
[Why do I always run into war junkies? The second they spot me, they charge, but they’re so weak that I wipe them out!
[Finally managed to hide in a pit. While I was digging, I ran into someone who was glowing, Scared the crap out of mell

Chapter 101
[Only half an hour left until midnight. Time to play it safe. I’ll hang on until I can get out of here.]
‘Only half an hour left until midnight?‘ Leeanne glanced at her watch.
Indeed, it was 11:35.
‘No way Bob can catch up now, right?‘ Leeanne tried to reassure herself.

Still, she couldn’t shake off her worry. She checked her coordinates. This teleport had only taken her about 6 miles away. ‘Bob couldn’t possibly run that fast,‘ she thought, ‘so I should be able to hold out until midnight, right? No, I’m still worried. Bob’s just way too fast.
As she was lost in thought, a gust of wind swept by, and as the branches rocked beneath her, she could barely make out Bob’s furious voice. “You touched my treasure chest. I’m going to kill you!”
‘Am I hearing things?‘ Leeanne wondered. ‘Wait, that’s not my imagination!”
A thought flashed through Leeanne’s mind. She quickly opened her backpack, sent the Summon Token to Rodger, and told him, “Summon me right now!”
Rodger was really far away, at least 30 miles away.
Just as she finished speaking, heavy footsteps started pounding closer, and Bob’s furious voice was coming right at her. “You touched my treasure chest. I’m going to kill you!”
‘Damn, he’s really coming!‘ Leeanne thought, her heart racing.
[Rodger Spangler wants to summon you to his side. Do you agree?]
The giant tree suddenly began to shake violently, and Bob’s voice grew louder and louder.
‘Shit, he’s right below me!‘ Leeanne thought, her heart pounding.
“Yes!” she shouted.
In a blink, Leeanne vanished from the treetop, leaving nothing behind but Bob’s enraged howl echoing through the night.
Next thing she knew, she was standing right beside Rodger.
At that time, Rodger, Danelle, and William were all gathered around a campfire, roasting chicken legs.
“Leeanne, you’re finally here. Come on, grab a bite,” Danelle said, handing her a big chicken leg. “We caught a bunch of wild chickens, and these legs are seriously delicious. Here you go!”
Leeanne plopped down by the campfire, finally letting out a sigh of relief.
‘Bob was just way too fierce, she thought.
The four of them sat around the campfire, chatting.
Danelle, gnawing on a chicken leg, asked, “So, who do you think will make it into the top ten on the leaderboard this time?”
Rodger glanced at Leeanne.
Leeanne shook her head. “I doubt I’ll make it.”

She paused, her eyes brightening. “But I bet Emmett’s friend Gideon will!”

‘He’s insanely strong, and he takes people out without a second thought. Ordinary folks can’t even compare to him, Leeanne thought.
Danelle glanced at the chat screen. “Really? That Gideon? Someone’s trash–talking him.”
The chat screen was still buzzing, and sure enough, people were talking about Gideon.
Lillian Caldwell: [Gideon, you’re not even human. My classmate just said a few words to you, and you killed him.]
Emmett: [Gideon saved your lives! She tried to steal his weapon when he wasn’t looking, and after he caught her, she kept whining and making excuses instead of owning up. Didn’t she deserve what she got?]
Lillian: [Who said she stole it? She just wanted to check it out.]
Emmett: [If you take something without asking, it’s stealing, isn’t it?]
Lillian: [Hmph! She was such a pretty girl, and Gideon just killed her like it was nothing. He does not pity girls at all. He’s just a total psycho!]
Gideon: [Where are you?]
Lillian: [What for? I’m not accepting any apology.]
Gideon: [Kill you.]
