Leeanne was absolutely certain that the Teleport Card she’d given Robin yesterday still had one use left.
She was positive Robin was definitely the one who spread this rumor.
She looked through a few other private messages, and they were all talking about the same thing Rodger had mentioned.
Back in the chat channel, Leeanne said, “The Teleport Card I gave Robin is perfectly fine. Think about it, if there was any issue, would Robin have still gone through with the trade? Do you really think he’s that stupid?”
As soon as Leeanne said that, everyone started to realize she had a point.
Someone said, “Yeah, before any trade, both sides can see what the other is offering. Everyone always double–checks. If there was something wrong with Leeanne’s Teleport Card, Robin would have caught it for sure!”
“But what if Robin just trusted Leeanne and didn’t bother checking?” Someone questioned.
Another replied, “Come on, do you really think Robin’s an idiot? There’s no way he wouldn’t double–check something this important!”
Robin: [Let’s stop talking about this, alright?]
Max: [Boss, you told me yourself, you were so nervous and trusted Leeanne, so you didn’t check at all!]
Someone asked, puzzled, “Robin, you really didn’t check?”
Robin let out a sigh. “Yeah, I was in a real bind at the time and totally forgot to check. But I’m sure the Teleport Card Leeanne gave me is fine. I trust her!”
Leeanne smirked. “Oh really? If there was a problem, how’d you guys even make it back?”
Max: [We tried using the Teleport Card, but nothing happened. We just had to wait for the system to teleport us out
Leeanne: [What do you mean it didn’t work?]
Max: [I used the card, saw a flash of white light, but didn’t move an inch. Isn’t that proof it failed!)
Leeanne snorted. “If it failed, how come you saw the white flash at all?
Max snapped angrily, “If it really worked, why didn’t I even budge an inch?
Robin stepped in, “Enough, this is pointless. Max. stop
Leeanne snorted. Just as I expected, Robin’s as cunning as ever. He’s still salty about meaning in has tone and w he’s itching for payback
Robin was letting Max do all the talking, acting all neutral, but every word our of his mouth kept hitsing va
with a spent Teleport Card
But with both sides sticking to their own stories and no evidence to back either is the players got went with why they already thought. Some sided with Leeanne, others with Rabin
That meant Leeanne ended up taking the fall
Because to some players, she was nothing more than a scammer. 174

She didn’t care what people thought of her, but there was no way she was going to let Robin drag her name through the
mud.
But how was the supposed to clear her name?
Suddenly, an idea struck Leeanne. The last time she used a Teleport Card, she’d used it twice in a row. After that, it turned into a common card.
A Teleport Card that’s been used once should be different from one that’s been used twice.
She immediately dug out her old Teleport Card and studied it closely for a while. In the end, a faint smile tugged at her lips
Robin had never used a Teleport Card before, so he didn’t know the difference between a new card, one that had been used once, and one that was already expired.
That’s probably why he was so certain about blaming her.
Unfortunately for him, Leeanne had already used two Teleport Cards herself, and she still had a fresh one on hand.
Leeanne hopped back into the chat channel.
People were still arguing about her and Robin, split into two camps. One side was mostly folks from the old District 3, who just couldn’t believe Leeanne would ever pull a fast one. The other side was made up of people from District 34 who were fans of Robin. They were convinced he’d been scammed and were jumping in to defend him.
And then there were the District 35 crowd, just here for enjoyment.
All in all, things were getting pretty wild.
Some of the onlookers who loved the chaos were even starting to place bets.
A bet? Leeanne thought, suddenly feeling fired up.
Looks like Max and Robin just played right into my hands,‘ she smirked to herself
She mulled it over, Robin was clever, but his sidekick Max was a total airhead. If she wanted to make a move. Max was definitely her best entry point.
Leeanne: [Max, step up.)
Max: [Yeah?]
Leeanne: (Are you really saying my Teleport Card failed?)
Max: (Absolutely!)
Leeanne Can you prove it?)
Max snapped, “What evidence do you want? Seriously, Leeanne? You think you can exist and want things st because I don’t have proof
Lecanne paused for a moment. Mas kept insisting the Teleport Card was aches, and be sally series to befied. He
didn’t sound like he was faking it
So what actually went down? Leeanne wondered

But she didn’t have the time or the patience to dig deeper. Max being so stubborn actually worked in her favor.

Leeanne let out a cold laugh. “Funny, that’s exactly what I was thinking. So you’re accusing me just because you think I don’t have any proof, huh? Twisting things around to make me look bad?”
Max exploded, “You’re shameless!”
Leeanne: [Alright, then how about a bet?]
Max blurted out, “What kind of bet?”
Leeanne: “If the Teleport Card I gave you really didn’t work, I’ll give you 2,000 wood and 2,000 nails. But if it actually works you give me 2,000 wood and 2,000 nails. Sound fair?”
Max: [How are you gonna prove it?]
Leeanne: [Just tell me, are you in or not?]
Just as things were heating up, Robin jumped in again. “That’s enough. Let’s drop it. Max, Leeanne, just stop already!”
Leeanne ignored him. “Max, are you too scared to take the bet?”
Max clammed up, then Robin cut in, trying to smooth things over. “Leeanne, maybe this is all just a misunderstanding. No need to blow it out of proportion. Max, just let it go.”
Leeanne gave a chilly little snort.
‘No idea if Max is freaking out, but Robin’s definitely losing his cool,‘ Leeanne thought.
Leeanne thought to herself, ‘Still playing the victim, huh? Even now, he’s dropping hints like “maybe” and “no need, trying to make everyone think he got the short end of the stick.
‘Well, I’m not letting him off easy this time,‘ Leeanne decided, her eyes flashing with mischief.
Leeanne ignored Robin and shot back, “Max, what’s wrong? Don’t have the guts to bet? If you’re too scared, just admit you were accusing me for no reason!”
Max fired up, “Scared? Me? Never! I’m in! I’ll take the bet! But Leeanne, how are you gonna prove it?
Leeanne replied, “Where’s the used Teleport Card? Post it here so we can take a look.”
Max: [] tossed it. Don’t have it anymore. What do you have up your sleeve?]
Leeanne Let me ask, when you used the Teleport Card, did you get any kind of system message?!
Max: (What message? What are you talking about?)
Robin cut in, “Max, just let it go. Let’s put this behind us.
Lecanne cut him off, clearly annoyed ‘Max, out with it. What stalling so you can cook up another the Autobus, why do you keep interrupting? Getting nervous, huh?
Max snapped, “Alright, Leeanne, here it is When fusest the Teleport Card, the system asked if I want to use it. I said yes, and that’s all that happened!
Robin cut in, “Max!”

Leeanne smirked, “Really, Max? You absolutely sure about that?”
Max retorted, “Of course I’m sure! I didn’t move at all. And you’re still saying your Teleport Card worked?”
Robin kept trying to shut things down. “Alright, that’s enough. Let’s just drop it already!”

Leeanne shot back, “Why are you so eager to call it quits? I haven’t even won my bet yet! Let me pull up a Teleport Card for everyone to see.”
[Teleport Card: What are you looking at? This card’s spent, might as well use it as a coaster! Seriously, you still wanna use it? Are you dumb or what?]
Everyone saw it plain as day.
Leeanne said, “Now that’s what a spent Teleport Card looks like.”
The Teleport Card Leeanne posted was totally gray, a clear proof it was used up.
The chat channel went dead silent for a second, then exploded immediately.
