The Double Drop Buff Surviving The Endless Ocean novel Chapter 176

Liam had been standing off to the side, keeping his mouth shut the whole time. When he saw Robin about to leave, he hurried after him and said, Boss, let me help you!

Bob kept his eyes closed, paying them no mind. Liam finally relaxed and followed Robin out of the courtyard.

Once they were far enough away, Robin finally exhaled in relief, his legs went weak and he dropped to the ground.

Damn, that was dangerous!Robin thought.

Liam asked, Boss, are you actually going to kill Leeanne right now?

Robin gritted his teeth. What, you think I’m stupid?

He’d checked the chat channel and knew what was up with Leeanne. Sure, those hundredplus people weren’t on her ship, but Rodger and the other powerhouses were. If he went over there alone, it’d be suicide.

Liam asked, So, what now, boss?

Robin said, Shh, just give me a minute.

Just as he closed his eyes, a voice suddenly rang out, Why aren’t you starting yet?

Robin jumped to his feet. He saw Bob 13 standing not far away, glaring at him. Robin, didn’t you say you were going to practice your sword skills?

Bob 13 was a powerhouse too, and Robin was exhausted. He quickly said, I’ll start right now!

Bob 13 just stared at him.

Robin was drained, but he had no choice. He drew his long sword and started practicing.

He’d been hacking away at trees all night without a break, got roughed up by Bob’s crew, dragged in front of Bob, and was scared half to death.

He was already dead tired, and now he had to practice with a long sword? He could barely swing the blade, let alone do it right.

His hands and legs were shaking like crazy.

Bob 13 sneered, Seriously? Is that all you’ve got?

He grabbed the long sword from Robin, spun it effortlessly, then shoved it back into Robin’s hands..

Robin quickly said, Bob 18, you’re incredible! That swordplay was out of this world!

Bob 13’s face broke into a smug grin. Obviously!

Robin realized Bob 13 was even easier to flatter than Bob. Just a couple of compliments and Bob 13 was absolutely thrilled.

Plus, he’d answer pretty much anything Robin asked, like he was totally clueless.

In the end, Bob 13 didn’t even push Robin to go after Leeanne. Instead, he started doing whatever Robin told

him.

Robin convinced Bob 13 to chop down trees, and Bob 13 actually went and did it.

Leeanne had taken his saw, so all he had left was an Advanced iron axe. But thanks to his brute strength, he was chopping down trees at lightning speed. In no time, he’d cut down a ton.

Robin hid out in the Advanced forest, letting Bob 13 hack away at Advanced Redbeak Wood, Advanced Red Oak, and Advanced White Pine.

All Robin had to do was sit back and keep showering Bob 13 with praise.

While he was busy buttering Bob 13 up, Robin pulled out some healing salve and carefully dabbed it onto his wounds.

The healing salve worked wonders, but Bob’s crew had beaten him so badly that, even though the woun closed up, his face was still marked with scars, and the bruises from Bob 13’s beating were still dark ar

eyes.

Robin glanced at Bob 13, a hint of viciousness flickering in his gaze.

Bob 13 can’t be allowed to live, Robin thought.

He was stringing Bob 13 along, but sooner or later, Bob would find out. If Bob ever learned about this, he’d never let Robin live.

And even if Robin managed to kill Leeanne, one wrong word could mean Bob would crush him with a single

blow.

These nonplayer characters were so ruthless and unpredictable, you could never trust them.

Robin wasn’t about to try killing Leeanne right now. He knew his own limitshis gear and weapons were nowhere near good enough to take her out. And going to her ship? That’d be suicide. Who knows what kind of monsters or crazy stuff she’s got waiting for him there?

Bob had handed him a mission that was basically impossible.

He figured it was smarter to grab these Rare items, head back to his raft, and play the long game. Slow and steady, plotting his next move.

Anyway, these nonplayer characters were stuck following the game rules. They couldn’t chase him out onto the sea.

Robin glanced up at the sky. The sun was already down. Liam had spent his full 24 hours and got teleported out around two or three o’clock. In another five or six hours, Robin could telep

out as well.

Just then, Bob 13 set down his axe. Hey, Robin, I’m starving. I’m heading home for dinner.

Robin was startled. There was no way he could let Bob 13 go back. He quickly said, Bob 13, let’s eat together! I’ll make some barbecue.

Bob 13 scratched his head, looking a bit clueless. I still prefer my own homecooked meals. Why don’t you come back with me?

Robin wouldn’t even think about it.

Bob 13 slung his axe over his shoulder and started walking away. Robin couldn’t stop him at all.

Panicking, Robin blurted out, Bob 13, come eat with me! II’ve got something to drink, see?

He quickly pulled out a bottle of Coke he’d scored from a treasure chest.

Bob 13 just sniffed it and shook his head. Nah, I don’t like that. I only drink mulberry wine.

Mulberry wine?Robin’s mind raced. Now he finally understood why Leeanne had been so eager to buy wine

back then.

At this moment, he was incredibly relieved he’d brought the wine with him.

He stopped Bob 13 and fished a bottle of wine out of his backpack. Bob 13, come on, give it’s even tastier than your mulberry wine.

This was a fine wine, the topshelf stuff.

He popped the cap, and Bob 13 sniffed it, pausing. Is it really better than mulberry wine?

Robin said, Just try it!

Bob 13 took a couple of sips, then shook his head. Nah, not for me.”

Not even this? He won’t drink anything!Robin thought.

Maybe

Robin spent ages sweettalking and coaxing Bob 13, Just try a sip, take another, savor it, chug it, come on!He pulled every trick he could think of, mixing flattery and persuasion, until Bob 13 had downed nearly half the bottle.

Bob 13 mumbled, Noreally, it doesn’t taste good

He leaned over and promptly fell asleep in the chair, snoring softly.

Robin dragged Bob 13 to a secluded spot. He remembered Bob 13 mentioning he couldn’t wander too far from the path because of monsters lurking nearby, so Robin stashed him away in the Advanced yellow pomelo woods, hiding him among the trees.

He was afraid Bob’s crew would catch on.

Under the moonlight, Robin stared at Bob 13’s big, goofy face, and his expression turned cold.

This was the guy who’d kicked him right in the gut, knocked out two of his teeth, and dragged him all the way to Bob’s courtyard.

He’d nearly killed Robin dragging him all that. y.

Robin had never been humiliated like this in his life.

Since I’m gonna defy Bob’s orders anyway, might as well take Bob 13 out and vent my rage, Robin thought.

Besides, if he killed Bob 13, maybe he’d get something valuable out of it.

This wasn’t his first time killing someone. Back during the island hunt, he’d used the excuse of helping others escape to take out plenty of people. He got a good reputation, racked up points, and even ended up as the top hunter in District 34.

Even though Bob 13 was an nonplayer character, Robin wasn’t intimidated at all. The idea of taking down an nonplayer character with such insane combat stats got his blood pumping.

Robin checked the time, trying to keep his excitement in check. He closed his eyes and took a moment to

rest.

A few hours later, Robin glanced at his watch. The time was almost up, just seven or eight mo he’d be out of here.

s and

Only then did he pull out the long blade Bob had given him, raised it high, and with a sickening stab, plunged it deep into Bob 13’s chest.

Bob 13 was almost sober, just as his eyes fluttered open.

He let out a miserable, furious howl, and Robin, startled, clamped his hand tight over Bob 13’s mouth, smothering the rest of his cries.

Bob 13 thrashed hard, rage burning in his eyes. Youyouliar!

Robin let out a mocking snort. Pathetic idiot.”

He grabbed the halfempty bottle from the ground, seized Bob 13’s jaw, and poured the rest of the wine straight down his throat, sneering, Didn’t you accuse me of forcing you to drink? Well, let’s see you choke on

it now!
