Robin’s blade was laced with poison. As Bob 13 drank the wine, the toxin spread through his body, and his eyes slowly drifted shut.

Robin sneered, tossed the wine bottle to the grond, and released his grip on Bob 13.

Suddenly, a furious roar split the air. Bob shouted, “I’m going to kill you!”

Bob came charging down the path, moving so fast that in the blink of an eye, he was right next to Robin. He raised his hammer high, glaring at Robin with pure hatred.

Robin was startled. He quickly reached out, grabbed Bob 13 by the neck, and yanked him back. Robin sneered, “Take one more step and I’ll kill him!”

Bob stopped in his tracks, yelling, “You lied to me! You lied to me! How dare you lie to me!”

Robin glanced at his watch. Only two minutes to go before he could teleport away.

Buying himself two minutes was a piece of cake.

Robin looked at Bob boldly. “We had a common enemy, and I was ready to team up with you. But you were so damn stingy. How was I supposed to go after Leeanne with what you gave me?”

Bob had never been duped this badly before. He was so furious his head was spinning, and he kept “You liar! You damn liar!”

Robin frowned and scoffed, “Moron!”

Bob was trembling with rage, swinging his hammer like he was about to flatten Robin on the spot.

Robin glanced down at Bob 13 and spotted a little pouch on his belt. He remembered Bob had grabbed a bunch of loot from a similar pouch before.

‘Is this like a backpack?‘ Robin wondered.

He yanked the pouch off Bob 13’s belt and whistled, “Nice!”

Bob roared, “Thief! Liar! You bastard!”

Robin sneered, “Idiots, the whole lot of you!”

[The time on your recruitment order has expired. Please return to your raft. Teleportation will begin in 10… 9… S… 3… 2…]

Robin flashed a wicked grin. Just before the countdown hit “1,” he raised his foot and kicked Bob 13 hard in the

ass.

The last thing he heard was Bob yelling at the top of his lungs, “Liar! I’m going to kill you!”

Back on his raft, Robin checked his backpack and burst out laughing. This time, he’d really hit the jackpot.

‘Man, what an epic day!‘ Robin thought, feeling totally satisfied.

Meanwhile, Leeanne was still up and hadn’t gone to bed yet.

That afternoon, she explained the raft scoring rules to the players who helped cut trees. When their time was up, Rodger and his group teleported away.

After finishing his mission, Apprentice 49 returned to the raft and got his cherry reward.

Leeanne cleaned up a bit, planning to roast some deer meat for Little Blue and Snowy.

But unfortunately, Little Blue and Snowy got into a big argument and were totally ignoring each other, so the barbecue was delayed.

Leeanne tried to calm them down for ages, but they just kept sulking. In the end, she flopped onto the beanbag chair, pulled up her light screen, and started scrolling through the chat.

She figured she’d just wait for them to cool off.

She was starting to doze off, thinking she might as well just go to bed.

Suddenly, a game announcement blared out.

[First, Bob is absolutely furious. The Bob family’s faction has shifted from neutral to hostile–leaning. In this state, members of the Bob family will ignore players when calm, but if they’re in a rage, they’ll aggressively hunt you down!]

[Second, the secret instance, Bob’s Treasure, is temporarily closed!]

[Third: Bob has issued a bounty for all players in District 33!]

[Bounty: Target Robin. Kill Robin and you’ll earn a massive reward from Bob: 1. A piece of special Black Gold soil that instantly matures any plant; 2. A custom Rare–tier weapon.]

Lots of players were still awake, and the game announcement was so loud that even those who were sleeping got woken up.

The chat channel was filled with confusion. Everyone was totally baffled.

[What the heck just happened? That announcement was so loud, it woke up the whole server!]

[What did Robin do to piss everyone off so bad? How did he get an non–player character to drop a bounty in the middle of the night? And those rewards are nuts!]

[Yeah, now they’ll hunt us with everything the got. I wonder just how wild they will get?]

[Lucky it’s only hostile–leaning. If they went full enemy, it’d be nothing but relentless hunting!]

[Now that’s what I call a bloodthirsty chase!]

[I’m so mad! Robin’s such a troublemaker!]

People were cursing Robin all over the place, and some really wanted to go after him, so they started looking for ways to track him down in the chat:

[The non–player character’s this pissed, Robin must’ve gotten some insane loot. But how are we supposed to track him down?]

[Yeah, how do you even kill Robin? We’re all stuck on our rafts, the ocean’s massive, and nobody ever bumps into anyone.]

[Just ask Robin to summon you, lol.]

[Quit joking, he’s not an idiot!]

Everyone kept debating, but nobody could come up with a solution. Out on this ocean, players never actually meet up, so unless you use a recruitment order, there’s no way to get onto someone else’s raft.

And Robin definitely wasn’t about to summon anyone, so no matter how sweet the reward was, there was just no way to claim it.

With nobody able to figure out a solution, the chat gradually quieted down, and everyone started nitpicking the details:

Emmett said: [Bob’s Treasure? There’s a hidden instance? How have I never run into that?]

Gideon said: [Heh, Bob’s Boots!]

Vanessa said: [Seriously, that’s so unfair! What kind of instance shuts down before I even get a shot at it?]

Spike said: [Man, Robin’s such a scumbag! He messed up all the goodies Bob was handing out!]

Ellery said: [Robin, stop pretending you’re dead! If you’ve got the guts, say something!]

The chat was blowing up with people cursing Robin.

Robin said: [Heh, you broke losers, feast your eyes: “Advanced Longsword“, “Advanced Set“, “Targeted Teleport Card, “] [Red Island Landing Permit“, “Advanced Redwood“, “Advanced Red Oak“, “Advanced White Pine“.]

Robin said: [See that? Thousands of top–tier wood, all chopped down for me by the non–player characters. Bet none of you could pull that off!]

By now, Robin’s reputation was completely ruined. Tons of people hated him, and there was no coming back from it.

He never expected Bob to actually slap a bounty on him. When the announcement hit, he was both freaked out and secretly thrilled.

With all these tangled feelings weighing him down, Robin just stopped caring and dropped the act.

Come on, with all this loot, how could he not show it off?

He was ready to show off his loot and make everyone’s jaws drop.

He wanted all those haters from the server merge to see. Robin was still the best, hands down!

After holding back his rage so many times, finally letting loose felt absolutely unstoppable, like a boss.

Let them curse all they want. Did any of them have this much loot? Did they dare to take on an non–player character? Nah, they were just a bunch of losers barking online!

Robin felt awesome and burst out laughing.

After seeing Robin’s haul, everyone got even more furious.

Leeanne saw it too, and she frowned. ‘What happened here? Why did Bob’s attitude change so much?‘ she

wondered.

It definitely wasn’t because of the loot. She’d taken way more than Robin, and Bob never lost his cool over it.

‘Just what did Robin do on that island?‘ Leeanne thought.

Apprentice 23 walked over and scooped up Fluffy, who was crawling around with some difficulty.

Leeanne quickly turned around and explained Bob’s announcement to Apprentice 23, making sure he got the whole story.

Apprentice 23 curled his lip. “I heard. Robin attacked Bob’s youngest son, Bob 13, and almost killed him. The only reason he survived was because Bob used some treasure to protect him.

“But that alone wouldn’t make Bob this furious. Robin tricked both Bob and Bob 18, and he really screwed them over!”

Apprentice 23 muttered, “Bob absolutely hates being lied to. It’s like he can’t stand anyone calling him stupid!”

‘So that’s what happened, Leeanne thought.

She shook her head and thought, ‘Robin’s got some serious guts. He actually went as far as to try and kill Bob’s
