Apprentice S and Apprentice 9 leaped onto the raft and casually asked Leeanne, “Hey, adorable adventurer, mind if we hop on your raft?”
Leeanne fell silent.
‘Isn’t it pointless to ask after you’ve already jumped on?‘ she thought.
Apprentice 49’s eyes crinkled with joy as he saw them. “Hey, guys, look at me! Look at me!”
He was sitting at the table munching on strawberries, then stood up on his chair, arms stretched wide, looking super proud. “I leveled up!”
Apprentice S chuckled. “You’re awesome!”
Apprentice S and Apprentice 9 took their seats at the table, their eyes going wide at the feast of strawberries, watermelon, sunflower seeds, peanuts, and a plate of mulberries. “Well, well, little guy, you’re really living the good life.”
Leeanne had prepared all this for the little ones. Little Blue, Fluffy, and Snowy had stuffed themselves and went off to digest, but Apprentice 49 was still here, stubbornly eating nonstop.
Apprentice 9 boldly snatched up a strawberry.
Apprentice 23 gave a pointed cough.
Apprentice 9 paused, then turned to Leeanne. “Hey, adorable adventurer, mind if I grab a snack?”
Leeanne nodded. “Sure!”
‘Let her have a few for Apprentice 23’s sake. No way she’ll out–eat Apprentice 49,‘ Leeanne thought.
Apprentice 23 said quietly, “You know the rules. You can’t just eat for free.”
Apprentice 9 waved it off. “No worries, I’ll teach her how to pull a Substitution Trick later!”
Apprentice 8 chimed in, “And I’ll teach her Misfortune Curse!”
Leeanne quickly replied, “Thanks, but I really don’t want to learn that.”
Apprentice 23’s face went cold. “Be serious. If you can’t teach her something useful, you don’t get a single bite!”
Apprentice 9 put the strawberry down and sighed. “Apprentice 23, I’ve been wandering for days, barely got a drop to drink. Seriously. I’m starving here.
Apprentice 49 piped up, Apprentice 9, didn’t you and Apprentice 8 just crash Bob’s wedding yesterday and stuff yourselves?”
Apprentice 9 gave him a playful snack. “Apprentice 49, can’t you show a little sympathy for your senior?”
Apprentice 8 and Apprentice 9 didn’t dare cat, just giving Apprentice 23 their best puppy eyes.
Apprentice 23 relented. “Alright, go ahead, but pace yourselves. Apprentice 49’s about to cat me out of house and home. When you’re done, teach her something useful. Bring out those hidden skills you’ve been keeping under wraps!”
Apprentice 8 and Apprentice 9 replied in unison, “Got it, no problem!”

Leeanne raised an eyebrow, ‘Do Apprentice 8 and Apprentice 9 actually have any legit skills?‘
Meanwhile, the players heard the game broadcast.

[Apprentice 9 has boarded Leeanne’s raft!]
The players freaked out.
[Oh no, those two troublemakers just went to Leeanne! She’s doomed. She’s totally gonna get hit with misfortune now.]
[Why are they going to Leeanne? And why did she even let them on her raft?]
[This is chaos! I really don’t want anything bad to happen to Leeanne. I just learned the trick to boosting my raft score from her, even made furniture with advanced wood and got my raft over 100 points. Leeanne’s really nice. Please, nothing bad better happen to her.]
Robin, Max, and the others saw it too, and they were all gloating.
Max laughed, [Haha! What goes around comes around, Leeanne. It’s finally your turn to get hit!]
Robin sneered, [Leeanne, nobody stays lucky forever!]
Max said, [I hope Apprentice 8 and Apprentice 9 really tear into Leeanne!]
Spike teased, [Like they did to Robin?]
Max shot back, [Get lost!]
In the Local Chat, tons of people were worried about Leeanne.
Robin saw all the concern and felt both sour and jealous inside. Back in District 34, he had been the same way. Many people admired and appreciated him, and if anything happened to him, they would have worried on his behalf.
He loved that kind of appreciation.
But now, there was no way that would ever happen again.
On the raft, Apprentice 8 and Apprentice 9 were chowing down, totally enjoying themselves.
Apprentice 8 gave Leeanne a thumbs–up. “Not bad. You’re not like those other stingy folks.”
Apprentice 9 chimed in, “Yeah, adorable adventurer, you’re my favorite!”
Apprentice 22 watched them coldly. “Alright, that’s enough eating. Time to teach her some skills!”
Under Apprentice 23’s icy, judgmental stare, Apprentice 8 and Apprentice 9 patted their bellies, wiped their mouths, and let out a satisfied belch.
In the Local Chat, players were all glued to the game announcements.
Max was hyped, flooding the chat with mocking taunts.
Max: [Leeanne has learned Misfortune Curse!]

Max: [Leeanne unlocked Shoddy Craftsmanship!]
Max left silent.
Suddenly, two broadcast messages appeared

[Apprentice 8 has taught Leeanne construction skills: Something from Nothing. Short on tiles? Missing bricks? Not enough wood? Give ‘Something from Nothing‘ a try! Seriously, you can finish your build even if you’re just a bit short on materials!]
[Apprentice 9 has taught Leeanne the construction skill: Breathtaking Splendor. Your building’s beauty gets a 200% boost! When your place looks gorgeous, you’re happy, and when you’re happy, good luck comes your way!]
Everyone was floored. ‘Wait, is that even possible?‘
[I never thought Apprentice 8 and Apprentice 9 actually had some legit skills!]
[Man, how much can ‘Something from Nothing‘ really give you? Even if it’s just a tiny bit, that’s huge. Sometimes you’re really only missing that tiny bit of material. This skill is seriously awesome!]
[Apprentice 9’s a girl, right? She’s always coming up with these fancy, over–the–top skills!]
[Bro, are you for real? Did you forget about ‘Substitution Trick‘?]
[I bet Apprentice 9 pulls off the Substitution Trick while Apprentice 8 conjures Something from Nothing. These two are like the ultimate dynamic duo!]

[Leeanne hit the jackpot again! All that worrying for nothing!]
Max and Robin went dead silent, like they’d never even existed.
Spike wasn’t about to let them off the hook. [Come on, Robin, Max, say something!]
Ellery chimed in, [With Robin, it was Misfortune Curse and Shoddy Craftsmanship, but with Leeanne, it’s Something from Nothing and Breathtaking Splendor. Honestly, I think Apprentice 8 and Apprentice 9 only teach skills to decent folks. If you’ve got bad character, don’t even let Lucas’s disciples set foot on your raft!]
Spike added, [Yeah, Robin, Max, Liam, with how shady you guys are, you better not let those disciples set foot on your raft!]
Apprentice 23 frowned. “That’s all you’re teaching her? Is that really worth all that food you just stuffed yourselves with?”
Apprentice 8 and Apprentice 9’s eyes went wide in shock. “Apprentice 23, these are our ace skills! The ones we’ve been saving for emergencies!”
Apprentice 23’s expression stayed cool. “Not enough!”
Apprentice 9 pouted, “How is that not enough?”
Apprentice 23 shot back, “You guys ate way too much!”
Apprentice 8 and Apprentice 9 rubbed their bellies, looking a bit embarrassed. ‘Guess we really did eat too much.
Apprentice 23 said, “You two need to do one more thing for her.”
She turned to Leeanne. “Is there anything you want them to help you with?”
Leeanne’s eyes gleamed with mischief. “How about you head over to Robin, Max, and Liam’s rafts, teach them some skills

like Shoddy Craftsmanship or Misfortune Curse, and scam some supplies off them? Oh, and hang on to whatever you get from Robin.”
Apprentice 9’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “I’m good at this! I’ll go right now!”
Apprentice 8 grinned. “Works for me. I’m stuffed anyway!”
The two of them skipped off, grinning from ear to ear.
Right after that, the system broadcasted their next moves for everyone to see.
[Apprentice 8 and Apprentice 9 happily left Leeanne Dillion’s raft!]
[Apprentice S and Apprentice 9 happily boarded Robin Shillingford’s raft!]
