Leeanne thought, With such a great hot spring, and the island’s beasts still alive and kicking, there’s no way they wouldn’t. have taken over this spot.
But after she had spent ages checking all around, Little Blue didn’t find a single thing.
The platform was only about a thousand square feet, open and in plain sight. Aside from some plants and rocks, there was nothing else.
And the hot spring? That was even more impossible.
The water was crystal clear, so clear that Leeanne could see straight to the bottom, not even a tiny shrimp to be found.
Still, Leeanne couldn’t shake the growing unease in her chest.
The place was way too cramped, with cliffs on three sides and only one wall of rock, the same one she’d climbed down from.
If a fight broke out, Leeanne’d be at a huge disadvantage.
Even though the hot spring felt amazing, Leeanne stood up anyway. “This spot is way too awkward for me, she thought, deciding to head back up first.
By then, Little Blue had cautiously tested the waters and slipped into the hot spring, the water barely covering its belly.
Little Blue pecked at the water, then suddenly fluttered its wings, splashing some droplets around.
“Woohoo, this is awesome!” it chirped.
Snowy turned to Leeanne, eyes full of longing. “Master, I wanna go in, too.”
Leeanne glanced up and asked, “Can you get back up there fast if you need to?”
Snowy nodded eagerly. “Yeah, I can.”
Leeanne relaxed a little. With Little Blue able to fly and Snowy quick on its feet, if anything happened, they’d both be out of here in no time.
Therefore, she grabbed the rope and climbed back up to the top, then sat down to watch the two little ones messing around
below.
Little Blue and Snowy were already locked in a water fight, and things were getting pretty wild.
Leeanne leaned over, planning to let them play for a bit before heading out.
‘It’s not like I can take the hot spring with me anyway,‘ she thought.
Little Blue had a huge advantage with its big wings. One flap and it was splashing water everywhere. Snowy didn’t stand a chance. Before long, it was soaked through.
Snowy looked like a drowned lamb.
It was the first time Leeanne had ever seen Snowy so soaked and disheveled, and she couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
Suddenly, a huge red shadow appeared in the water, twisting and slithering beneath the surface.

“Splash!” A gigantic head burst out of the water.
It was a snake.
A blood–red snake.
A massive crimson python.

Its head was massive, and its body was as thick as a giant tree trunk. Part of it was coiled underwater, making it impossible to tell how long it really was.
Unlike regular snakes, this one was covered in dense, blood–red scales that clung tightly to its body, glowing vividly like blood in the sunlight.
Even its eyes were a deep, menacing red.
Right now, it was menacingly flicking its red tongue, fixing its gaze on Snowy like a predator sizing up its prey.
Just moments ago, it had attacked Little Blue and Snowy, but the two reacted instantly. Little Blue took to the air, while Snowy hopped straight to the edge of the pool.
Now Snowy and the giant snake were locked in a tense standoff, staring each other down from across the pool.
Leeanne’s heart nearly jumped out of her chest. She was shocked.
Leeanne thought, ‘Is that thing a water snake? Was it hiding in there the whole time? But the water was crystal clear. How did I not spot it?
‘Where the heck did it come from?‘
She hurriedly pulled up the snake’s info:
[Tier 5 Red Phosphorus Python: This scaled beast is insanely fierce and poisonous. Think twice before you pick a fight.]
‘Tier 5 and venomous… This one’s not going down easy,‘ Leeanne muttered in her mind, heart pounding.
With her soft whip trashed, Leeanne grabbed her horn bow, pulled it back, and let three arrows fly in rapid succession, swish, swish, swish, straight at the Red Phosphorus Python.
Almost at the same moment, the Red Phosphorus Python launched its attack at Snowy. But Snowy wasn’t intimidated even a little. It rammed into the Red Phosphorus Python with all its force.
Little Blue swooped down and went in with its Rapid Claw Strike.
Even though the Red Phosphorus Python was massive, it was surprisingly quick. With a sudden twist, it dodged all three of Leeanne’s arrows.
After a few moves, Snowy was barely holding on.
Leeanne sucked in a sharp breath. ‘So it really is Tier 5… The Red Phosphorus Python is a real monster, she thought.
She quickly called out, “Snowy, get up here.”
Snowy had only one way out. It had to make a jump to the top of the cliff.
It dodged the Red Phosphorus Python’s attack and bounded over to Leeanne’s side.

The Red Phosphorus Python was locked onto Snowy. The moment it saw it escape, it straightened its body and surged out of the water with a loud splash, its long form breaking the surface.
Leeanne’s heart skipped a beat. “Snowy, run!” she shouted.
She quickly backed away, but the Red Phosphorus Python’s massive head was already poking over the edge. In a flash, it whipped its tail and slithered up onto the cliff.
It’s so fast,‘ Leeanne thought.
Leeanne’s face tightened with determination.
Her horn bow was busted, and arrows wouldn’t do much against the Red Phosphorus Python. All she had left were her Rare Dagger and the Refined Iron Harpoon Launcher.
The harpoon should be able to skewer a snake, right?‘ she wondered.
Quick as a flash, Leeanne snatched up the Harpoon Launcher, pointed it straight at the Red Phosphorus Python, and pressed the button. The harpoon shot out like lightning.
The Red Phosphorus Python was only halfway up when it was caught off guard. With a sharp thunk, the harpoon slammed straight into its belly.
The Red Phosphorus Python hissed and hissed, furious and wild.
With a loud snap, the harpoon retracted, its barbs ripping out several chunks of flesh as it came back.
The Red Phosphorus Python’s hissing grew even more intense, its eyes blazing red with rage. In a flash, its whole massive body surged onto the cliff and lunged straight at Leeanne.
‘Seriously? It’s still coming after me, even with a wound like that?‘ Leeanne thought, stunned.
She spun around and bolted.
Snowy was about to charge forward, but Leeanne shouted, “Run! Head for the porcupine cave up ahead.”
The stench of the snake was right behind her. Leeanne didn’t even have time to think. She whipped out her Speed Card.
[Do you want to use the Speed Card?]
“Yes,” she shouted.
The Speed Card flashed white. Suddenly, Leeanne felt as light as a feather. In a blur, she covered a huge distance with one
step.
‘Whoa, that’s fast!‘ she thought.
But the Red Phosphorus Python was right on her tail, not letting up for a second.
Leeanne ran for her life, glancing back over her shoulder as she sprinted.
“That Red Phosphorus Python is insanely fast!‘ Leeanne thought, panic rising in her chest.
Even with her speed boosted to three times faster, she still couldn’t shake it off.
Of course, Leeanne was actually luring the Red Phosphorus Python on purpose. She wanted to finish it off herself.

Wherever the Red Phosphorus Python rampaged, chaos exploded. Birds and small critters scattered in terror. Many large rees were snapped by its tail, and stones and dirt flew into the air.
It was absolutely savage.
With the Speed Card activated, Leeanne raced toward a porcupine cave entrance. Just inside, there was a Quicksand Trap he hadn’t triggered yet.
Her only worry was that the Quicksand Trap might not do much against a snake like Red Phosphorus Python this size.
What she needed was to keep the Red Phosphorus Python stuck and slow it down.
Leeanne dashed right into the cave.
The entrance was about six feet tall, just big enough for the Red Phosphorus Python to squeeze through. Raging and wild, it lidn’t hesitate. It barreled right in after her.
Leeanne raced to the center of the cave. When she reached the Quicksand Trap, she vaulted right over it.
The Red Phosphorus Python slithered in right behind her.
As it crossed the Quicksand Trap, Red Phosphorus Python’s movement was noticeably hindered, slowing down for a
noment.
Leeanne had been waiting for that. She hit the trigger on the Harpoon Launcher, and with a loud crack, the five–pronged harpoon drove deep into the Red Phosphorus Python’s belly.
With a sickening squelch and a loud splash, the harpoon retracted, ripping out several more chunks of flesh as it came back. The Red Phosphorus Python was dripping blood, hissing furiously. With a sudden surge, it slid right over the Quicksand Trap.
Leeanne sighed inwardly. ‘Just as I thought, that trap barely slowed it down.”
Still, at least she managed to wound the Red Phosphorus Python again. It was better than nothing.
With two hits, the Red Phosphorus Python was bleeding badly. ‘Maybe if I give it some time, it’ll bleed out,‘ Leeanne thought.
Thinking as she ran, Leeanne dashed toward another tunnel.
